    First time at John & Mary's :).

Did I mention that this was my first time at John & Mary's? Usually having a sub sandwich from a restaurant means taking a convenience to satisfy hunger. Having a John & Mary's ham sub to me was like: "Am I lazy or what?" :) Fixing a sandwich like that would be super easy and fast at home. It was bread, basic ham, provolone cheese, iceberg lettuce, tomato and onion, plus oil dressing. We wanted to mix some ham with some turkey, but the person who was taking our order couldn't do it. She blamed the computer system, which could only sell us two separate halves of ham and turkey. Wait a second, both turkey and ham submarines cost the same. Why not just tell the person that's 10 feet behind you at the sandwich counter to mix half and half? An actual owner or manager would have just said "sure". The only assorted sub on the menu was with ham, capicola and salami and that's not what we wanted. It was my only one experience, but a big downer. It would be much nicer if they were more open minded and sensitive to customers' needs. We still dealt with humans, right? The food was good. The bun was toasted and the ingredients were fresh and tasty. All of this for just eight dollars. Possibly I would visit this particular location again for a more complex meal or sandwich but after fishing. They are open at 11am and that's when the fish usually stop biting. P.S. I just checked the online ordering method and I see there is a ham & turkey sub option available. It's just two bucks more than what we paid for a ham. I think it was simply too much to deal with for the person at the counter. Ugh... I can't stand bad service anymore.

Seriously the best John and Marys I have ever been to. The decor is cute, it is very clean and you are greeted with a smile. You Order at the counter and they bring your food to you. My husband and I both ordered subs and they came out promptly by a very efficient and polite young lady who made sure we had everything we needed. The subs were good and very fresh tasting. We will definitely go back when in the area.

This was a nice place to eat after our train ride on the A&A railroad. Good pizza and a wonderful selection of appetizers. We found the servers to be pleasant and prompt.

Ahh now that was a proper traditional WNY meal. When coming back to the buffalo area, one must get wings. These were just what the doctor ordered at John n Mary's! Medium wings, crispy and wet.. perfect. And chicken finger subs? Yes please! For some reason outside of NYS, no one knows what that is or how to make it if asked.. seriously?! Loved John n Mary's! It was nice and clean and inviting. It sure was hopping but it was a Saturday night in a small town.. after ordering it took quite a while to get our food, and they forgot half the order until we had to ask where it was. But like i said, they were slammed so I won't hold it against em too much! I didn't get to try their ice cream or froyo but it's nice that it is offered there! Next time..

Just to show that there was a phone call.

By contrast, Marco's has excellent customer service, but I gave it 3 rather than 4 stars due to a clear and consistent obvious lack of consistency. I generally order stromboli from them, but it's really hit or miss depending on the day. Some days the stromboli is big and golden brown and amazing. I'd give it 5 stars. Other days it's tiny, completely undercooked, and even missing ingredients. I'd give it 1 star. If they could make the 5-star stromboli consistently, my rating would be 4 or even 5 stars. The pizza is decent but the chicken wings consistently disappoint. I was in there recently and a sign said the wings were so small that they'd offer more than usual to make up the difference. Again, I'd much rather have consistency. Eat here on occasion because they can't be consistent, but I do love a good stromboli. Wish they could get it right

The aroma of freshly baked pizza was so enticing, and drew us up to the counter without hesitation. The kids ordered the standard KID Meals: fingers and fries and a kid's personal pan pizza. Both come with a juice box. Our smaller boy, aka the "picky one" began devouring the fingers like nobody's business. I was glad to see that they were "real" chicken cutlets, not reformed chopped chicken product. Ok, so it was the best thing he ever ate! Our bigger boy eats pizza every chance he gets, as his mom works at a pizza shop in another town. He eagerly expressed approval of Marco's sauce and cheese! Life is good! I had the chicken souvlaki salad with a garlic breadstick. Very delicious and a great bargain at only $8.99! I strongly suggest that you put Marco's on your bucket list!

Our kids ordered the chicken tender & fries, and the pepperoni pizza, both with a small beverage. They polished off every bite without any pushback! My husband ordered the gargantuan julienne salad, brimming with meats, cheeses, olives & peppers. Mine was the antipasto. Both were very crunchy and fresh with high quality ingredients. Our waitress was extremely friendly, flashing a big beautiful smile each time she approached us. She lent us some pens, so the children could draw on the back of their placemat menus. We felt extremely welcome. We like the fact that the food offered resembles actual meals that my mother would have prepared for us. I love the array of salads, freshly baked pizzas, sizable portions of chicken, Parmesan, Alfredo, dishes, and lasagna. The sides looked extremely appealing, everything from baked potatoes to onion rings to garlic knots. We truly enjoyed everything we ate, and we will definitely return here the next time we get a craving for a meal! The vibe here is like (let's be genuine, but not mean) roadside-family restaurant-wrapped in old paneling. Not to be confused with anything close to charming. But it's clean, the food is good quality for a good price with a hardworking and friendly wait staff. Don't overlook this little gem!

My husband and I wanted to enjoy the summer night, so we took a motorcycle ride down to the brewery on a Thursday night. When we arrived, they immediately scored points for having cool plants, and pretty lights. The ambiance is great. We ordered at the counter and our bartender (I suspect the owner) was friendly and helpful. He even had his pup, Toby, in the bar, which made me so happy (shout out to all the beerboss pups of the world)! The beers were very enjoyable. I will say that they use the terms "a hint of" loosely lol. I really liked the blond stout (which had a strong chocolate cherry flavor) and the cream ale! I tried the peach cream ale, and it was delish, but very peachy :) my husband had a hefe which he said was great but didn't taste very "hefe". For food, they had a small menu, and we ordered the chicken panini (7/10- just needed a little seasoning) and the cheeseburger pizza (11/10-yum). There was a good crowd playing song trivia on Thursday night, so it felt warm and inviting. We talked to a couple on the patio for a bit, but decided to stay inside due to the mosquitoes swarming. Definitely worth a visit!
