Took my daughter to this Dr. for wisdom teeth removal. After an hour and a half Dr. Allen said he could not do it. I was taken out to the parking lot. They were already waiting on an exit door there to hand me my daughter. They handed me a girl with so much anesthesia on her that she did not know what was going on. She was totally distraught. He handed me a prescription for antibiotics because he did cut his gums, but did not extract any of them. They just put her in my vehicle and had me take her back home in that condition. I thought she was dying. Three weeks later another doctor performed a successful extraction of all her four wisdom teeth in a little bit over an hour. I just wanted to add that Dr Allen called my phone when I first posted a review about our horrible experience in his office. He had already called my daughter, as well. We were both threatened and pressured by Dr Allen to remove the original review. Every time I put him on speaker, he h ung up the phone to avoid being heard by anyone else. My son and my husband heard him threatening to disclose information about my daughter if 9 did not remove the bad review. I should have recorded the condition my daughter was in after this "maxillofacial surgeon" put his hands on her. People go there ready to record anything in case something like this happens again. No, I don't recommend him. Anyone can do a much better job. read more

I was escorted out of Dr John Allen's office today as he stated "I ask too many questions and he doesn't want to treat me" It was after the 4th set of X-rays were taken by his office that I'd questioned because the last were just done 2 .5 mos ago. He said "you seem hostile" as I was quietly waiting for him to review the new pics. I replied, "Hostile?? of course not, I'm frustrated- it's been a year!" He turned around, making eye contact for the first time and said "The girl will come and escort you out!" walking out and closing the door behind him. We had such a great experience with Dr. Allen that I wanted to leave a review. Dr Allen did some of my parent's dental work, took my daughter's wisdom teeth out and just last week my son's wisdom teeth. We all had nothing but positive experiences. Dr. Allen's office is very organized and has things down to a science. They are helpful and knowledgeable. Dr. Allen himself is a true professional and extremely nice. He wants to make sure you fully understand everything with your dental work and are comfortable with everything. He answers all your questions and calls to check in on you himself that evening. He supplies his own phone number after hours in case you have questions or concerns. He schedules follow up a week after the wisdom teeth surgery. I took my son to have his teeth pulled and they have a beautiful little waiting room for surgeries with tv, coffee, drinks and breakfast bars. I have been to see Dr. Allen for two separate procedures. The first was extraction of a lower front incisor that was causing crowding. This was in preparation for Invisalign correction by my orthodontist. The procedure required a bone graft, and he warned me that this was a difficult area due to bone loss (I am in my 60s). Nevertheless, he was confident that it would help me and we went forward. I'm so glad I did! Not only did he do a fantastic job with compassion and skill, but the bone graft went perfectly and I was able to successfully complete the 2 courses of Invisalign -- my teeth are so much better! The second procedure was for a serious infection under an ancient molar root canal. I went back to Dr. Allen because of my first experience. He immediately recognized the seriousness of the infection and got me in quickly for the extraction. Once again, he did the job quickly and beautifully, sparing the bone and making it possible to one day get an implant. And guess who I will see about that? Why, Dr. Allen, of course! read more

My primary dentist referred me to Dr. Allen for the extraction of all 4 of my wisdom teeth. For background: my wisdom teeth were not causing any pain, and none of them were impacted. They were, however, badly decayed, and my dentist felt that "saving" the teeth through fillings and the like were not worth the effort. I was told that extractions would avoid issues in the future. Nonetheless, I didn't like the idea of surgery, so I went to the consult with Dr. Allen with some apprehension. The staff began the visit by taking a panoramic x-ray of the entire mouth, and then I was placed in a private room for the consult with Dr. Allen. I was impressed by how Dr. Allen thoroughly reviewed the x-ray, physically examined the teeth, and discussed options. Given my age and general health, Dr. Allen recommended two separate extraction procedures: 2 wisdom teeth extracted on one day, and then the other 2 extracted in a separate procedure after I had recovered from the first procedure. He also recommended deep sedation for both procedures. I grumbled hearing this, not wanting to go through two surgeries, the possibility of complications during each procedure, two recoveries, etc. He also explained that after each procedure, I was looking at 3 to 4 weeks to fully recover. (More grumbling on my part.). Dr. Allen understood my reluctance, and left it up to me as to when (and if) I wanted to schedule the procedures. He was friendly and professional, and did not apply any pressure in terms of making a decision then and there. I left the office with a price quote for the procedures. Some time later, I cleared my calendar and went through with both procedures. I was impressed by how smooth the entire process turned out. Dr. Allen is truly a fine surgeon, utilizing all the latest equipment/technology to ensure my safety and comfort. I also have to say that his office is one of cleanest medical or dental offices I have ever visited. The staff in the front office, and in the back "surgery room", were great. After each procedure, Dr. Allen had prescriptions for antibiotics and different pain meds ready at my local pharmacy. He called my cell the evening after each procedure to see how I was feeling, and to answer questions. And then, a week after each procedure, I returned to his office where I was again put into a consultation room for Dr. Allen to examine the surgery site and confirm that there were no signs of infection or complications. Dr. Allen was "spot on" in terms of the total recovery time, but the pain medicines he prescribed were more than sufficient to manage pain levels. Overall, I am glad I had the extractions done, and grateful that the surgery was performed by Dr. Allen. read more

Started my day feeling confident about my procedure for my wisdom teeth removal appointment I had set for 10am. While waiting an elderly gentleman who was waiting for his wife got ill. I had to get 4 molars removed in order to get braces, 4! As an adult I thought this would be the worst part about braces, but honestly it's been the easiest part thanks to Dr. Allen. The consultation was great and he was informative. Also, he's funny and makes a scary place not so scary. Surgery went well and staff was great. You might be a little loopy after surgery. No pain at all. I'm also a very slow healer but I healed surprisingly fine. And as others have said he provides his cell phone in case of any emergencies. I'm due for wisdom teeth removal and I'm definitely coming back. Even if my insurance doesn't cover this office because it's out of network. I'll gladly pay out of pocket. It's worth it! Review for 9/12/18 My daughter had two lower wisdom teeth and two upper primary teeth removed. We went in for a consult and felt very comfortable. Dr. Allen made me and my daughter feel very comfortable - Did a through evaluation and explained the surgery process from start to finish. General Anesthesia is a serious thing and I was very comfortable with him from the beginning. His front staff checked on Insurance coverage and told me our patient portion. Spoke with Claudia a few times on the phone and she was pleasant. On the day of surgery - they were on time. Jessica assisted with check in and making sure my daughter and myself were comfortable. They had a lovely waiting area and the whole office is state of the art. They kept me updated while my daughter was in surgery telling me when she "went under" and when she was done and recovering. My daughter had minimal swelling overall and the incision area was clean - signs of a good doctor! His bedside manner was impeccable - and I am VERY picky when it comes to doctors. My daughter had to have all four of her wisdom teeth removed. She was in an incredible amount of pain. Although we live over an hour away, I decided to try Dr. Allen because he came highly recommended. Dr. Allen's bedside manner is excellent. He takes time to connect, explain and listen. The day of the surgery ran smoothly and was over quickly. My daughter just wanted to sleep afterwards...and they allowed her to do so. Claudia, at the front desk, is awesome as well. We were an hour late due to rush hour traffic and she and Dr. Allen waited for us to arrive (we were his last appointment) and when we finally got there, we were greeted with smiles and cold bottled water. Everyone in the office is knowledgeable, thoughtful and efficient. I couldn't ask for more. Really. In fact, I've made an appointment for myself to have some work done! My dentist referred me to Dr. Allen for a wisdom tooth extraction consultation. To my horror, I was to have all four taken out! I was terrified, and I stalled, but my dentist convinced me that Dr. Allen was great. I knew I had to do it, so I followed through. After having heard a mix of both horror and success stories of friends who have had the procedure, I prepared for the worst, but hoped for the best. I am happy to say that Dr. Allen made this a smooth experience for me. He reassured me that I would be fully sedated from the anesthesia and therefore would not be at all aware of the procedure, and that if I followed his post-operation instructions I should have minimal complications. Being a good patient that I am, I followed his instructions. The day of the surgery, which now was one month ago, I arrived by 7:30. By about 8am, they had me all set up and ready to go. The last thing I remember before the procedure was Dr. Allen telling me to stop talking (lol!) when I was asking why I wasn't asleep yet, after he asked me to open my mouth. My first recollection after that was sitting on my couch at home at around 9:30am reading text messages I don't remember sending. Dr. Allen prescribed me with amoxicillin and ibuprofen, which I was to take to prevent infection, pain, and swelling; as backup, he also prescribed norco, to take only if necessary. He also called me that night of the surgery to see how I was doing, which I thought was a great way to make me feel more comfortable about my recovery. Fortunately, I didn't need to reach him at all and didn't need to take any of the norco because I didn't have any complications. I highly recommend Dr. Allen if you are to have this dreaded procedure. read more

First found this on Yelp so I went in to check it out really liked the service the doctor is a really great guy I'm am however disappointed because I made an appointment and had to reschedule due to a new job and I had to reschedule again today it's unavoidable they do ask for 48hrs notice (other wise $50 charge) and both times I have 1 week advance notice and now they are telling me that will be the last time I can reschedule that is terrible since they were circumstances that are unavoidable and I'm not messing with them I'm just disappointed so far but I do hope everything else goes smooth once I go in for the appointment. I recently took my mother to Dr. Allen's to have three of her wisdom teeth extracted and Dr. Allen was wonderful. My mom is typically nervous around dentists, but Dr. Allen and his staff won her over with their warm demeanor, patience, and professionalism. Dr. Allen put my mother at ease with his humor and clear explanation of the procedures with some assistance from the staff due to my mom being primarily Spanish speaking. The staff was great in explaining the cost breakdown between ourselves and our insurance carrier. The office itself is beautifully decorated and technologically modern which made explanations much easier since they were blown up in a large screen. My mom typically hates x-rays, but the the 360 degree rotating x-ray machine was painless. The waiting room was even great since it was stocked with snacks and beverages. After the procedure the staff made sure I clearly understood what to expect in caring for my mom and what to expect in the following days. The evening of the procedure Dr. Allen followed up personally to see how my mom was faring. The staff was very prompt in making sure all follow ups were scheduled accordingly. I could not have asked for a better experience for her. My one regret is that I did not have my own wisdom teeth extracted here. read more

I was referred to this office from my general dentist, and WOW! As I pulled up, I got a little nervous due to the area they are in. As soon as I saw the building I knew they were going to be good. The building is clean and remodeled. The staff at the front desk were very professional and attentive. The ladies in the back were AWESOME. I am ALWAYS nervous at dentists and the girls in back made me so at ease. They have a lot of new equipment and had pretty cool xray machines and what not. He is always friendly and puts me at ease because sitting in the dentist chair automatically makes me nervous.
