What he NEVER explained was that because of a personal guarantee, the charge-off could destroy my personal credit while leaving me responsible for the entire debt under my personal name. Months later, with absolutely no warning or updates from him, I discovered my credit score had dropped from 850 to 640! Not only do I STILL owe the loan, but I'm also potentialy facing collections through the U.S. Treasury with a potential ADDITIONAL 26% collection fee or more ontop of the loan amount. When I brought it to him, one of the things he said was that he had bad credit too, from a missed Verizon bill. It turned out the SBA was pursuing me personally as guarantor. Had he explained these consequences or told me that this loan has a personal guarantee, I never would have hired him. Thousands wasted in legal fees and my excellent credit badly damaged.
