My body has been my instrument my entire life. I was a professional dancer with Cinn Ballet in the seventies and have taught ballet and fitness my since 1981. I have had many injuries and therefore many massage therapists over the decades but none like Jo !! She is truly gifted and can find muscle groups that were tight and pulling on other areas and is able to work it out. She recommends stretches for my achy knee that keeps it functioal. Jo is amazing! I've gone to her now for over ten years, and she is always so completely in-tune with exactly what is happening to your body and always knows how to fix it. Her massages are a perfect balance between enough pressure to be restorative and give you long-term correction of muscular/fascial issues, but not so much pressure that it's a completely miserable or painful experience. I am an athlete who has undergone multiple surgeries for several injuries, so I am incredibly picky about who I will let work on me. I regularly attend the Sunday night "joga" classes for the past year, and have also gotten massages from Jo and had one chiropractic adjustment and one private yoga session at the studio. I can't recommend this practice more. Jo has assembled a team of practitioners who are skilled, client-focused, evidence-based and honest. I have mostly seen Jo, who is an incredible massage therapist with a wholistic perspective and great attention to detail. The small yoga classes means Jo can tailor the practice to who is in the class, and she can always tell exactly what our bodies need that week. came looking for a Therapeutic massage. Jo NOT only did not give me a therapeutic massage, she did not listen to the type of massage I wanted. I asked for a blanket as I was covered in only a sheet and she had the air conditioner on. She said ok.. and turned off the air but didn't give me a blanket. Her massage was like someone barely putting lotion on your skin ... she SAID she was doing trigger point therapy, which I did not ask for and did NOT like as it was as if she was jabbing me with her finger and just leaving it there with no intention. I highly do NOT recommend if you are looking for deep pressure massage that feels good and calming...I was more stressed on the table then before I came into the room!! read more

I purchased the deal through living social and Joga Somatic Arts for a 90 min massage. I scheduled an appt 45 days out. When I showed for the appt, there was no one at the business. I arrived 5 min before my appt and called to confirm. No one answered and I left a message. 10min past my appt time, I called again, still no answer and I left another message. At 30 min past my appt time, I left one final message to call me and reschedule. 3 weeks and 2 emails later, I still have not heard from Jo at Joga Somatic Arts. No apology, No rescheduling options, nothing... not even a phone call or reply to my email. Very Shady!! read more
