Brought my car in for the brakes to be checked. After a day they called and it was ready to be picked up. The service department explained the issue with the brakes and the repairs performed which were all free of charge including labor. I also had to buy windshield wipers. The guy who sold me them worked in the service department and was called Adam. He was great as he showed me how to install the windshield wipers. I also got a free coffee while I was there which was a definite plus. Overall, solid service.

    Firstly, I love how most reviews are 1 star and the "review highlights" are glowing. I sure do…read morewonder if Stocker has a Premium Yelp account. Anyway, the customer service experience was pleasant enough, but the overcharging is truly evil at Stocker. Even if I give them the most generous possible benefit of the doubt, Stocker charges $227 an hour for labor, double what I've experienced anywhere else in the state. And I'll go into why I do not advise giving Stocker the benefit of the doubt. I am not a car guy at all, but it took me 45 minutes with youtube, a screwdriver, and a jack to get to the washer fluid reservoir when it stopped holding fluid. I thought the problem was a cracked reservoir, so I intended to attempt a repair with some epoxy, but when I found the pump was the problem, I figured it wasn't worth waiting for the delivery and I needed an inspection this month anyway. I told them at the front desk everything I saw and they said it would cost $100 just to diagnose, which was already about as much as I was hoping to spend on the repair, particularly when there didn't seem much mystery left, but I said ok. I get that taking off a tire and the liner and the bumper to access the pump in a Bolt is more work than an oil change, but I can't understand where $450 went [Edit:] Just wanted to add to my review a confusion over the representative's reply. Please google "replace washer pump chevy bolt" and scan through any of the first 10 results, seeing how once you take off the bumper, the pump is completely exposed. True, that bumper requires like 30 screws and a tire to come off, but I would imagine that the Chevy dealer that sold me my Chevy has removed enough Chevy bumpers that it would not be a $450 adventure. And the mechanic said that the first $100 was finding it! So then what was the rest? I'll take his offer for transparency. If he reaches out to me, I'll put another $500 on the table if I can't get to the pump in less than 30 minutes [Double edit:] I just want to highlight that the Stocker rep that replied to this comment edited their response to remove a part about how it's important to factor in labor to repair costs. I didn't screenshot or memorize the comment, so maybe there was more to the edit, but it did make me realize something else: let's assume for a moment that a 2 hour repair (as reported by Stocker and seen in the text screenshot) was a reasonable amount of time. At $453.94, that puts the labor at three pennies shy of $227 per hour. Ask your local mechanic what they think about that number before you try your luck with Stocker. I'm changing the beginning of my post to reflect this realization. [Triple edit:] The Stocker rep has now deleted their comment defending the cost and replaced it with "we're looking into it." That was more than two weeks ago, so I can only hope the investigation isn't draining too many precious resources. If it is, I'm sure I'll get a bill for it. For what it's worth, I'll contribute my theories: (1) just your ordinary highway robbery where they force a $100 retainer to even agree to look for the problem knowing it'll sting too bad to pull out no matter how much they overcharge; (2) highway robbery + fraud: they factored in the "free" inspection time into the labor; (3) the employee didn't know (or ask, or look up) how access the part, and so they made massively time-consuming mistakes, also known as billable hours [Quad edit:] The stocker rep has removed their "we're looking into it" comment, which is more stunning to me than ignoring it forever or outright deleting their reply, like I had expected. At this point, the rep must at least understand my perception of how quickly the repair could've been performed. If, during their investigation, they uncovered specific knowledge of why it took their team 6 times the labor to get to the part compared to a handful of idiots on YouTube with a phone in one hand, the rep would have mentioned it, thus publicly defending the honor of the dealership and humbling me. So I can't help but feel that the remaining possibilities are (1) they did not look into it, (2) they did look into it but the dealership deleted the footage so there's no way to find what happened, or (3) they found what happened and it was indefensible.
