It was scary enough for them without me feeling we had to leave within a few minutes and entertaining enough for me. I felt the price was reasonable and everyone was professional and stayed in character the whole time. I moved here recently from Vermont with my kids after my partner died. It reminded me of home with some of the haunted trails we have out there. My kids stopped feeling homesick and really had a blast. Thank you very much to everyone great job.

They were happy to charge you full admission with waiting times over an hour to enter woods. With no people, in queue, in front of you. Woods had nothing to offer, it was rather haleririous experience, where we felt like idiots paying for a late walk in the woods, if I didn't have my flash light on, I would ended up in Emergency, that was the only terrifying experience of nearly breaking your neck! After 20 minutes walk we asked for a full refund, they promised to sort it out and nothing was refunded. I received no further communication. I am extremely disappointed with above experience. They opened up to public, but did not invest in decorations, atmosphere or an experience. Wish I could score -30 for the whole night.

We did the haunted trail during the "family friendly" daylight hours (no actors), games, and Little Green Choo ride. The park system and volunteers must have spent a lot of time preparing for this event. The haunted trail was elaborate and amazing. The trail is wagon/stroller friendly, (the walk-thru side attractions are not), but it is quite scary even during the 'family friendly' hours, so I wouldn't recommend it for young children. The bubble machine, tricycle race track, and carnival games are all perfectly suited for the younger crowd though, as was the train ride. I also really enjoyed seeing many well-constructed child-sized Halloween character photo-ops. When we left the park around 8:00pm, the line for the haunted trail was very long, and the line of cars down Diagonal Rd. waiting to get into the parking area was even longer. They stop letting people line up at 9:30pm, so I would advise arriving far in advance of that to allow for slow entrance to the parking area and probably a line at the ticket booth. They made an announcement (maybe around 6:30pm, but I'm not sure) allowing people to queue up for entrance to the haunted trail once it turned 'scary' at 7:00pm, so I would go early for the shortest wait. Cost is $2 per person, free for 3 and under. Games and food are extra. There is a significant amount of walking involved from the parking area to the ticket booth and then to the attractions, so this event is probably not a good choice for those with mobility issues, although they do have a handicapped parking area and accessible restrooms available.

They go above and beyond with the decor and attention to detail and creepy statues, and ugh gross. They had some of the creepiest elves I've ever seen in my life. The actors are also great. The wait was not too long. We might've waited 30 minutes in line - much longer during Halloween. It was really fun with so many different Christmas themes. There was even cousin Eddie from National Lampoon's Christmas vacation which was hilarious. I really enjoyed this Christmas haunted house. The actors did an awesome job. There were definitely plenty of jump scares. And at the end they had a Christmas bar with Christmas themed cocktails! It was a super fun to spend our evening.

Not many actors. Boring, most scenes we walked past we weren't jump scared. They literally took away every aspect that made this haunt great. Not many mask like there used to be. The make-up is generic on most of the actors. Schoolhouse and laboratory had its own unique feel. They set themselves apart from other haunts. There were rally none like them. I feel like the new owner didn't want to scare kids so he made it kid friendly. Because there's no other excuse. If you want to check out a haunt that gives you real scares and a feel of what these 2 used to be. Go to Ghoul Brothers or Slaughter house.

Reason being I moved out of Ohio and before that I lived about three hours away from it's old location, near (now) Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky. That said, it impressed me even then with its combo stylishness/slyness. It's not enough to just scream and pop out. That's cheap. You have to be creative and use standard props in an interesting way. Hauntville did and does this. I visited them this Halloween season in the Elyria location and despite being woefully understaffed the creativity remained in high order. one of the most interesting psychological elements was in the Prison house. Not to spoil the surprise but the Warden character (good actor, btw) was always in an "elevated state," making the customer feel more helpless. Little atmospheric touches like this abound, especially in the succinct but suspenseful "Unknown" pitch black maze with multiple awesome "fun house" elements mixed in. Hauntville has HIDDEN RIDES within a few rooms. So fun. AND more BIG HEAD PUPPETS than any other haunt which are more customizable than animatronics, especially when the actors are strong and they are here. You can tell they care. Most of them could improv for days, especially the ticket taker at the Haunted Bayoo/Shanty house. (How many people can riff about "sister-cousins" breathlessly for ten mins straight?) Shout-out to Kristi for really making me feel welcome and appreciated.

I don't want to give away too much...but it was a good haunted house. I'm not a fan of being scared by loud noises and there were a TON of horns and whatnot. Hauntville had a lot of unique scares and things that were different than other houses. The actors with the chainsaws touched your legs with the fake saws and there were a couple big objects that ran right into me.
