We are here on vacation/visiting family .. this park/beach is dirty ! Homeless, trash, cigarette butts all over the place. There is actually a sign that says it's a smoke free beach !

This park is great!!! Such a great place in Boston to visit and bring the family and your pets. My dog adores this place! And so do I... There is a small parking lot by the entrance close to the track. If you live in the south Boston or Dorchester area it's actually pretty easy to even walk here and get extra exercise. It's also very close to the JFK train station. I come here and walk the track and bring my dog so he can run around and have a great time. There's lots of geese here in the spring and their poop is everywhere but I won't complain because at Least it isn't dog poop. The people that come here seem very responsible about picking up after their dogs which is so great. I love having such a great, clean and fun park to bring my dog to and I am also able to get a nice workout. If you are looking for either of these things this is the place to go! Enjoy!!!

We went on a Saturday morning, locals were walking, jogging, sitting on a bench drinking their coffee. Teams were out in the water roving, a nice visual Boston cliche that you see in movies, but I got to see for real. You can walk for miles here, till you get to the BU Bridge in parallel with the beautiful houses of Beacon Hill. Nice nature, cute bridges, birds, peaceful spots to stop by and look at the water, enjoy a book or a coffee. Nice locals offered to take our photos and we enjoyed chatted with. Beautiful sculptures, clean restrooms, lots of greenery. Great spot for a picnic also. I am sure it's pretty here at sunset. I am sure they have events here as well. My husband regrets not knowing about it. He went to Boston University and walked the BU Beach and the Bridge, but wasn't aware of this part. He would have loved to come here for peaceful walks and some reading. We didn't want to leave. A must see place in Boston!

Lots of paths, grass, benches to just sit and chill. What's cool is how much it changes with the seasons. Spring and summer it's super lively and green. Fall has really nice foliage. Winter they turn the Frog Pond into a skating rink, which is actually pretty fun. What I really like about the Common is how connected it is to everything. You can walk straight to the Public Garden, Beacon Hill, Chinatown, Downtown Crossing, or even hop on the Freedom Trail right from the park. So it always feels busy but not in a crazy, overwhelming way. There's usually something happening too, whether its street performers, random events, protests, food carts, or just people hanging out with friends. You get a good mix of tourists and locals, which makes it feel like an actual city spot, not just a tourist trap. It's generally kept up pretty well. That said, like any busy city park, some areas can get crowded or a little messy during peak times. But honestly, on a nice day it's one of the nicest places in Boston to just slow down for a bit. Overall, Boston Common's a must-see whether you're visiting for the first time or you just want a nice place to walk, relax, or people-watch in the middle of the city.

More than just a beautiful public park, Boston Common is deeply connected to the founding history of our Nation and offers visitors a chance to experience a small piece of America's past firsthand. The park is exceptionally well maintained and provides a wonderful atmosphere whether you enjoy history, walking the city, or simply relaxing outdoors. One of the most striking sights is the impressive Soldiers and Sailors Monument standing prominently near the center of the park -- a reminder of the generations that came before us and the enduring history surrounding this area. Whether you are visiting with family, taking in the historic surroundings, or just looking for a pleasant walk through the city, Boston Common is absolutely worth experiencing while in Boston.
