Probably not such a bad choice given the dearth of Indian restaurants in the city. The prices are selectively steep, but you do pay a premium for perhaps the location, and the ambiance (and a semi elegant decor). The food is North Indian, for lack of a better cultural descriptor. Not too greasy, not too salty, but doesn't have a kick either.
We ordered the mixed grill; 8 piece of grill for €19, and two samosas for €6 = €25 for starters. The grilled was mediocre, the samosas, not even.
For the mains - dal fry, butter chicken, kadhai chicken, aloo gobhi, palak paneer. The butter chicken was not too bad, still miles away from the real thing though. The daal, according to my company, was delectable (I can't get myself to compliment daal even if it's nothing like I've tasted before).
The gajar halwa was surprisingly well done (though not as rich as the real thing). The suji halwa was allegedly not as sweet as it should be - but then I suppose when it comes to Indian desserts, nothing is sweet enough.
The service was very prompt and super friendly. I would recommend this place as a one time try, even though I give it only 3 (3.4 actually) stars as a one time try. read more
