(or maybe that is just my perception) I love this place for many reasons: 1.) The bartender (that I believe no longer works there but I still love her, Katie.) The reason I went there so much. 2.) Good stiff drinks that are cheap 3.) Pool tables 4.) Juke Box that plays Janis Joplin, David Bowie and other generally good songs (when your drunk) 5.) SALTY popcorn that taste amazing aka "crack" 6.) mini pitchers 7.) being allowed to dance around with my shoes off 8.) usually not crowded 9.) "Talk Sex with Sue" would be playing on the TV 10.) annoying frat boys got kicked out by the bartender for being annoying 11.) etc. 12.) etc.

There were 2 guys playing cards but the rotating group of young, drunk 20 somethings- screamed that we were in the place. Bottles of beer were $3- all beer for $3. Getting drunk cheap appeared easy to do. If you forgot what a smoke filled bar smells like- this place will take you right back to that smell- pretty sure the paneling is original and every pour absorbed the lost smells.

Cypress is under new management and reopened as of the end of June. Today is the first time I have…read morebeen back in since then. The place has been brightened up which is nice and the bathrooms have been mostly been updated. But the prices of alcohol have not only doubled but they got rid of one of their pool tables. The music had changed to more of what you would hear in a club and makes the floor vibrate. Their are more tables and chairs then they know what to do with. Because of all the new chairs and tables it makes it hard to shoot pool at all. If they rotated the pool table it probably would not be a problem. There was also a bartender that stopped in who continued to vape in the bar, but was not on the clock. And their were also customers vaping with no one stopping them. There was also a dog that was brought in who the bartender seemed to know because she squatted and greeted with lots of pets. I have no clue if she washed her hands after that, especially since they now serve chads pizza.

It was 3:30 on a Saturday week 11 of College football and the place was already busy. I couldn't really find anything wrong with the place, like I said dive motif has lots of posters and beer advertisements, not a fancy college bar thats for sure which is what I dig.

The bar is a staple in Evansdale and there's always familiar faces there to greet you. We had a wedding in town and had some time to kill before the reception, so a bunch of us met up and wanted to have some beers. There was a benefit going on-the bar is great with hosting parties like that, always helping out the community-so it was packed. There were families and kids everywhere. We found a few tables by the door and stayed out of the way of the party. My cousins, who are from MN were amazed that the price of a pitcher of Bud was only 9.50! "That's one drink in Minneapolis!" They have a pretty big space, a party room in back, lots of tables, booths and bar space. There are dart boards, pool table, and video games. We didnt spend too much time there this time, but I know we'll be back again soon!
