I believe this is my 2nd ever post to Yelp. I am not into bashing people/businesses, and always want to give people the benefit of the doubt. However, I think that in this case it is important, as choosing an OBGYN is a very personal and important decision.
I have been a patient of Dr. Vogel's for years. My first horrible experience I had with her was after having a surgical procedure done by her many years ago. After many complications, and following up with her after about my concerns, she had no interest or patience, and immediately passed me on, saying I needed to see a urologists and plastic surgeon. I was very frustrated, but did both. (Btw- her bedside manner was horrific).
I followed her advice and saw a urologist and plastic surgeon. Both doctors were great and tried to communicate with her about what was going on and what they could do. Neither of them got cooperation or any follow up from her.
Fast forward 7/8 years. I lived with the issue and side affects from the surgery. I finally had everything redone and fixed last year and couldn't be happier. The surgeon was blown away with what he saw that she had done!!
BELIEVE IT OR NOT...that is not even why I am writing this review. I continued to go there, only because I NEVER saw Dr. Vogel again. However, Marybeth, the PA, is amazing, so I would see her when needed.
SO, this takes me to today....I have been taking a RX for over 20 years!!! Same medication every day!!! Prevents a breakout I get on my spine that has been associated with numerous battles with viral meningitis. Because I have been on the same medication and same dosage for many years, I usually just have 12 refills at a time. On Thursday morning, when I realized I needed a refill, I called the pharmacy, and was surprised there were no refills. It had only been 2 months since my last visit at the office, AND, this has been an ongoing maintenance medication that I have been taking for 20 years!!! It wasn't like I had gone a year without being seen.
The pharmacy said they would fax the doctor. On Friday I called the pharmacy to follow up, knowing it was Friday and everyone would be gone for the weekend. The pharmacy told me they had not heard back from the doctor's office and suggested I call the office directly to make sure it was taken care of. This led to about 5 calls to the office throughout the day. Of course, they were getting very annoyed and kept putting me on hold to talk to Dr. Vogel. Several calls back and forth, I was assured it would be taken care of before they all left at 5. I even agreed to a schedule appointment with Dr. Vogel - set for this Thursday.
I went to the pharmacy at 4:50 and they still had not received anything. They had tried calling the office directly as well. I called again after 5 and got the answering service. Dr. Vogel was on call and I had them contact her. I was told she had sent it over and she didn't know why they didn't receive and that she was going to send it again
I followed up with pharmacy and they still did not receive anything. They tried to contact her again as well. Beyond frustrated, knowing the pharmacy closes at 8:00, I called the answering service again. They actually connected me to Dr. Vogel directly!!!! She was beyond rude!!! Said she wasn't in a place to deal with this and would take care of it later. I tried to explain the importance of me not going a day without this medication. She repeated she was not in a place to deal with this (quite frankly, sounded like she was at a social
event with all of the background noice - definitely wasn't the ER). I asked if there was another doctor I could talk to who could help and she said no. I am honestly blown away!!!!!! I asked if she could call the pharmacy, I had the number right in front of me for her, and if she could just approve a few to get through the weekend. She againg stated no, and that she wasn't in a place to be dealing with this stuff. Hmmmm....doctor on call??? Hope that my medication is called in and ready tomorrow, and I hope this doesn't escalate into anything more serious, like viral meningitis. Do yourself a favor....avoid her!!!!! read more
