Hobby Lobby - Another one of my Hobby Lobby quarantine creations!

The picture I had was odd sized so I needed to get it matted. Aliyah, seen that I was hopelessly out of my element, and offered to help me. She was kind, patience, and competent. She measured my picture frame and went in the back and cut my matting board lickety split! She then helped me install the matting and picture in the frame. It turned out great! I am so happy with the service I receive in the custom frame department that I will most certainly be back. Please recognize Aliyah as a valued employee and make sure you keep that young lady happy!

I absolutely LOVE this place for so many reasons. However, I will give an honest review based on…read moremy experience. So, I picked up a new hobby during quarantine, like so many others, I'm sure lol and it's candle making. I checked out Hobby Lobby's online ordering process for the first time and it's just as smooth and easy as going into to the store. They have the exact products online (if not more) and nothing is ever on backorder. If they're out of a particular item, the system will not allow you to order it, which I like. So, once we've entered phase 3 of rona restrictions, I decided to go to the store to get more supplies. You must wear a mask and maintain social distance and some stores even offer cart sanitizing wipes. Inside their stores is such a calming and peaceful atmosphere, where everyone is super chill, friendly and helpful. They are a Christian faith business and closed on Sunday's. All stores have lots of encouraging worded wall decor and surprisingly, they have books on faith, family and loving your neighbors, which is especially needful during these turbulent times! You can find just about anything handcraft related here! Hobby Lobby also has several pieces of table decor items that are beautifully created at super affordable prices. I took pictures of my Hobby Lobby candle creations, (which is now a Black Owned Business) and everything in the photos came from their stores. This place really gets your creative juices flowing lol. I'd recommend them for all of your home decorating, seamstress, business and arts and crafts needs. Oh and their 40% off coupon that they so generously offer, can be used everyday it's available, either online or in the store on any one item at retail price. Pretty awesome I'd say!

I literally could hear the angels sing when I stepped in to this store. I have been sewing since…read moremy teens, which now has been over 50 years. I know a good specialty fabric store when I am in one. I have been to the stores in the Garment District in NYC and Promenade Fabrics is far superior then any of them. Especially in price, selection, and customer service! There is nothing in the NYC garment district that comes even close to the Southern hospitality you are encased in while shopping here. If you don't see what you're looking for then ask! I'm not a gambling person but I'd lay some serious money they'll find it for you. They have the most exquisite fabrics I have ever seen along with vintage French lace and ribbons, and exotic buttons. What appears to be a small store just goes on and on with wonderful treasures of which you would be very hard pressed to find anywhere else in the USA. Hector, the establishment creator and owner, is the most quintessential Southern gentleman and he greets every customer who comes through the shop door. I am originally from Mobile, Alabama and my encounter with Hector harkened back to the days of personal service without any overbearing selling. He wanted me to have a good time while I was there. He showed me fabrics that literally brought tears to my eyes to see. He made me feel at ease asking to see one right after the other of the specialty fabrics located at the back of the store. These fabrics are handled only by the store staff. For a reason. They are delicate, actually very delicate, and exquisite doesn't begin to describe their beauty. (Think Halle Berry's dress when she won the Oscar in 2002). They have high end fabrics from Dolce and Gabbana and many other designers. If you are a seamstress or simply a fabric hoarder (which I think I have become over the years) then I can't even begin to recommend this store highly enough if you are ever in NOLA and have the opportunity to visit. I wholeheartedly agree with each of the other reviews. Do not go in without some serious cash or a good amount of available credit on your credit card as this is a seamstress' temptress of fabrics!! Thank heavens they have an Etsy store: https://www.etsy.com/shop/PromenadeFabrics since I live in Sedona, AZ and can't go to this store everyday of the year that they are open in New Orleans. If I could, I would BUT rest assured that when I win the big megamillion lottery there will be lots and lots of fabric added to my sewing room from Promenade Fabrics.
