The staff were extremely professional; masks, gloves, the whole nine yards. I was extremely shy wig scrub, and Jess and her team made me feel safe and right at home. They were extremely patient with my million questions, I couldn't be more pleased and grateful for my experience. I wish I took more pictures, I was just too busy loving my wig! This place is very expensive, but not high-end. I originally went in for a topper. It was cut too much on the sides and you could see my bald spots. The topper was useless. It looked like a drowned rat at this point and was useless. I asked for a refund and was turned down. A few weeks later, I received a call from Jessica. Eryn was the one that ruined the topper. So the second time around, Jessica asks what can she do for me. I told her I already asked for a refund and was denied. She was trying to get me in to "fix" the problem, but it couldn't be fixed. Too much hair was cut. I said I wanted a refund. Finally she offered a 30% refund. I settled. She said "when you get the refund could you remove the Yelp review?" I told her I would take care of it. I updated the review; I did not remove it. Awhile later my bank account was frozen. I could not access my account in any way. I went to see my Financial Advisor. He said "I see a suspicious eTransfer to you for $500; the origin is questionable" The red flags started popping up. I told him where it came from and he said it appears the business/person was trying g to reverse the deposit. However this couldn't be done because I already deposited the money. Very unprofessional, and so was her telling me to remove the review when I get the eTransfer. I will never do business with them, or refer them to anyone. I am unable to remove the stars, but I wouldn't even give them one. I hope no one has to go through this traumatic experience. read more

I live in Toronto so the entire process was done virtually. the consult was very informative and I felt really comfortable. i can't say enough about how beautiful this topper is. it's made me feel whole again. Just a mean staff. Clearly my friend and I did not fit in as they treated us like we were so beneath them. We decided to get a cut and style last minute for a party, They took us in fairly quickly which I can see how as they must scare customers off. We weren't planning on going back but seriously. Buyer beware.. They have a hidden camera recording you when trying on your wig/hair topper. I found myself on Tik Tok! I did not authorize them filming me nor did they tell me they were! It is traumatic enough losing your hair then to have hundreds if not thousands seeing your face with a wig/topper. Be careful of hidden charges. For example I bought a wig for 2,000.00 which includes styling. I took it home to get used to it. I brought it back months later and they charged me for styling. Hi! I'm not trying to bash or hurt anyone but I am writing about my personal experience with Jo Hair Studio. I've been going there for a year, I have hairloss and I've been troubled with hair loss since I was a kid. My first visit with her was simply AMAZING, her previous employee Cici cut my hair. I went back for seconds because of my awesome experience, to get hair added to my hair piece and a colour done. Jessica recorded me without my consent or without my knowledge and later saw a video on instagram with the visit I had with her, this was SCARY to me. I mean hairloss is a sensitive topic, consent should be earned or at least be made aware of recordings! The colour was 'okay', it washed out after three months. The hair adding - I was going to stay at the studio as I didnt have any other hair to wear but even though I was booked in, she sent me home with a toque on (keep in mind im completely bald) and didn't give my hair back until 7 hours later. I still had to go back the next day to get it fixed as it definitely was not two hours of hair adding. The day I went back for hair adding I had asked to get my bangs trimmed a little bit - she left a huge chunk in them - what was side bangs now had to be turned into front bangs because of how she messed up. I went back a third time for a hair cut again. She did an AMAZING job with the cut this time, as there wasnt much to cut - just a teeny tiny trim and a tiny but of face framing. My appointment was a 330 PM, she didn't take me in until 430PM because she decided to take a walk in first. I went over my break time for work and was upset with that in itself. Lastly, I went back again with a brand new piece that I wanted to be cut the same ( tiny amount of trimming, and a slight face framing ). Her assistant talked to me on the phone and I had booked in a haircut at 130PM. I went in at 1230, to explain my situation to Jessica and what I wanted - she said she only thought I was booked for a consultation and that I should go back at 2PM so she can cut my hair. (Even in my email I have proof of ''haircut - booked with Jessica for 130PM''). I went back at 2, she told me to go back AGAIN at 530PM. So, I killed an hour and a half walked around, but I still decided to go back at 530. I went in at 530 -she didn't get to me until 630PM. When she got to me, it was just me and her in the studio and at first she was relaying that I came to her so last minute for a haircut, which wasnt true due to my previous booking in with her assistant But I did not say anything. She asked me what kind of haircut I wanted, I told her the same as last time - I want a slight trimming and some face framing - and I brought my old wig in to show her what she had done. She went ahead and started cutting my hair. I had an AMAZING conversation with her, I even opened myself up to her and told her about my depression/anxiety I've dealt with for my whole life. (This is an important part keep it in mind). When the haircut was done, I looked up, I immediately realized it was 6 inches shorter that it shouldve been. I paid my bill and when home only to realize there was chunks of hair missing. My bangs were super choppy (I didn't even ask for bangs it was 22inch long hair) and one side of my head was 1 inch longer than the other. I texted her and asked if I could go back to have it fixed - she was heading home for the day so that was understandable. The next day I decided to go to another hair dresser to get this fixed, the hair dresser I went to was so upset. She noticed chunks of hair missing in the back of my head, not only that chunks of hair missing in my bangs and side of my head. The hairdresser wrote a letter to Jessica on my invoice so I could show Jessica and get a refund. I immediately texted her and told her how upset I was that my new wig that I work really hard to afford, was ruined and I felt so uncomfortable and I showed her the invoice from the hair dresser. Jessica did not once apologize for ruining my wig, she was so worried I left her a bad review and accused me of leaving a 'bad review' with the previous hair dresser. I told her, I would never do that - everything was annonymous. She told me she would give my money back once I removed the 'bad review' - there wasnt and I assured her of that. I was also told I was overreacting and being too ''anxious'', which I didn't appreciate given our heart to heart convo about my anxiety with her. I felt personally undermined for how I was feeling, of course my anxiety is bad if my brand new wig is ruined! I thought about posting this review as I didn't want to hurt feelings, but I have been feeling so down because my hair looks horrible but I cant afford a new one. I have to wear this until I can save up again, I've been crying everyday. I did get a refund on my haircut but my wig is ruined regardless and the damage is done. I was seeking a new hair stylist and colour tech so I decided to check out Jo Hair Salon because it was close to my house. I met Jo and she had a dinner date planned and she was only in that day to do some cleaning. She decided to stay and she did a full set of highlights and toner with root touch up for $150. She did a great job and I know what to look for being that I used to be a salon owner. She was funny and bubbly and gave me great service. She kept making me tea and it was a nice time as the conversation flowed nicely. She has a great sense of humour and I will definitely be a repeat. The place was clean and trendy and she also makes custom wigs and hair clips and does hair extensions as well. I'll be back read more
