It is a challenging choice to write a review for a healthcare provider with your real identity, and…read moreit's doubly challenging to do so with a healthcare provider who has a partnership with the SB sheriff's department. Sellas is a very available dentist and saw me within a week of my referral; something I assumed was coincidental but quickly learned was a result of his loss of composure and professionalism. If you were booked for a procedure without consultation, that isn't convenient or a mistake. That is an intentional process so that you are prepped for surgery and then rushed for the bill before anything can go forward. The staff, particularly one individual, is VERY pushy about the billing. They will attempt to get you to sign up for an aggressive credit card to pay the bill. Additionally, if you don't have a good relationship with your dentist, you may fall for their predatory desire to go for more procedures than are needed. His inappropriate bedside manner began when he was going over the procedure with my partner and me and didn't end when I had a conversation with him on my post-surgery check-up. I have not and probably never will be an oral surgeon, but I know it's not okay to tell male patients that they're lucky they're not a woman because oral infections are more likely for people on their period. He also made snide remarks about my career and my income in both of my meetings with him. In fact, it was that 2nd time that made me pull him aside and discuss his unprofessional language, but it's probably all for not, as you can't teach an old dog new tricks, especially if that old dog was doing very well for themselves in regards to number of patients (He'll tell you that he's done +100,000 surgeries). I wondered how he was so successful in his practice by referrals alone, but he didn't let me wonder long. He's happy to tell you he's the oral surgeon for the county jail. If you're unfamiliar with that type of work, it's a very lucrative career move that isn't a result of effective and good medical practice. Lastly, if you're on his staff, what you think he's probably saying about you when no one is listening is what he is probably saying. TL;dr: CONS: Sellas is not afraid to bother and annoy you once you've paid him. He will attempt to do unnecessary procedures. He's a jail dentist with a cop attitude. He has issues with communicating to-and-about women. When given a chance to discuss his inappropriate manner alone he proceeded to double down and tell me about his relatives business on giving "boob jobs" and how the credit card partnership is on behalf of his "women" (staff). Pros: Widely available for all reasons mentioned above.

From someone who has had some less amazing dental experiences elsewhere, I was very happy being lucky enough to meet Dr. Chan for this procedure. Not only the Dr. but his admin and staff as well. The pre-op was very personal and informative, I spoke to him in person, learned more about him, watched a very detailed video with all concerns that could exist, and could ask anything I wanted with supportive responses. He is a very smart and experienced surgeon that did not hesitate to explain everything to me in excessive detail. I was very prepared before the operation because of this. The staff was incredibly nice and understanding in every situation, called me ahead of the procedure, and was very efficient throught the paperwork process. Not only were they skilled in the surgery alone but they were also incredible at making a calm and enjoyable environment, especially someone like me who has not really had experience with surgery or anesthesia before. I was impressed with everything and how quickly they were able to finish the process without any complications whatsoever even though my bottom teeth were heavily impacted and some teeth even had damage. I woke up fully complacent, in zero pain, and ready to head home as if nothing even happened. Went home with good instructions and was able to take care of myself in a way that it is barely an inconvenience. The doctor himself even called me later in the day to check in with me and made sure everything was okay. To summarize I appreciate them both for their awesome and professional work, as well as their kind and sociable demeanor. I feel lucky to have been put in their hands.

However, Dr. Zalsman did an amazing job and I recovered well! He and his staff did an amazing job educating me, answered any questions I had, and he even called me after the surgery to make sure I was okay. Dr. Zalsman is an expert in his field, a wisdom teeth extraction surgery may seem intimidating but for him, he does these surgeries on a daily basis! I asked my dentist (of 24 years) who he would use, and without hesitation he recommended Dr. Zalsman, stating that Dr. Zalsman had done an excellent job on his implant. My dentist was correct. Not only is Dr. Zalsman a dentist, but he is also an M.D., which provided me with an extra level of confidence. The office is clean and welcoming. The staff is beyond courteous. They are professional, yet personable and good humored. Appointments are kept timely, and the place runs effectively and efficiently. On a number of occasions, after arriving early, I was actually seen in advance of the appointment time. Having a dental implant can be an anxiety-provoking process. The bone needs to be prepared to receive the implant, and it is not unusual to have to supplement the existing bone with additional bone material from nearby. I opted for the general anesthesia, which costs a bit more but relieved me of the stress and (frankly) fear associated with enduring this complex procedure. The clerical and medical staff is as good as I've seen anywhere. The medical assistants tasked with setting me up for the surgery went out of their way to ensure that I was comfortable and at ease. I highly recommend this office for any of your complex dental procedure needs.

However, when I came in for my appointment the inside is beautiful & clean, the staff is so welcoming, and they educated me on my dental hygiene. The inside is nice and modern, they have cozy chairs and massage chairs. There was a lady frequently checking and cleaning the restroom. Those things are important because the dentist can be intimidating so it's important to feel comfortable. The receptionist is nice, I think her name was Aracely! Linda was sooo sweet, she honestly calmed my nerves! She made me feel comfortable, and answered any questions I had. There was also another girl that helped me, I didn't get her name. She was younger with a bun, and she was also so nice. I went in for a consultation and when I was finishing to make my appointment the receptionist was helping me choose a time. Two other workers chimed in to give feedback and their opinion about my appointment. They were able to input their opinion without being rude or belittling the receptionist and to me that shows they have a strong team here, and they other workers are listening and paying attention. So 10/10 teamwork, I'd rather everyone working be in my business suggesting/offering their advice, than going with an appointment time that may not have worked out. I came in for a cleaning, I haven't been to the dentist in years. I also came in for composite bonding. Robin, was the one who did my cleaning and she has great hospitality. She educated me so much on my teeth, and how they were when I went in, and how to maintain them. She pointed out what my previous dentist didn't do correctly, and she gave me in depth reasons as to why it was done improperly and told me how it should be done and she did that for me. Very sweet lady ! And I didn't get the name of the man who did my bonding, but he was nice. During my consultation he gave me a brief explanation about composite bonding and what not to eat. I will say that there was minimal conversation about how I wanted my teeth, I thought they would ask me what my goals were or what look I was going for but they didn't. Before the procedure started I asked him if he could add length to my two front teeth and he said he could maybe add a little length. The procedure was pretty quick maybe an hour, my teeth were done very nice. I did have a breakdown in the car because I wasn't used to them yet tho. After the procedure, we took a quick look he said give it 48 hours then call if I wanted any adjustments or changes, that I can floss don't be afraid to floss like normal, and he left. Super brief convo, I didn't get any aftercare tips or what to expect or anything. So when I got home I was panicking because my front two teeth had no gap, no space to floss. I just assumed it was because it was still freshly done, but even two days later I couldn't get the floss between my front teeth. It's been about two weeks, I still can't get floss inbetween them as easy as my other teeth, I had to force it in between. Over all, great staff, great work

I've been to 3 dentist office in 4 years and I'm always asked if my son will be with me. I understand there's sometimes kids who don't behave but don't assume my child is one of them. And when I tell you my kid is a calm kid then you need trust and see how it goes afterwards. I get to the front desk and First Lady asks if I have someone to watch him. Which is a common question and I assure her that he's a calm kid and he'll be fine and she says okay. My son wasn't making any noise, wasn't running around. And no, I don't have someone to watch him because mother works and I work in the afternoon. It's the only time I can take care of my needs. Then I have nurse come by to tell me we need to do X-rays and if I have someone to watch him. Again I say no I don't but he can stay off to the side while I'm doing the X-rays. I get it, it's radiation. Me and him have done this before he knows what to do. She tells me to hold on while she asks and proceeds to take 10 minutes doing whatever it was she was doing (does it take that long to ask a question?) and approaches me and just says okay I'm ready for you. Well I assumed we were good and I tell my son who is calmly sitting down watching a movie on my phone to walk with me. As we're walking some other lady receptionist gets up (mind you she's in the back and not sure what her Tuesday was like but girl sit down) and tells me oh he can't go back there... I'm taken a back trying to figure out what the hell is going on and what's the big issues I thought this was sorted out. I start arguing with them we already went over this and she says because we don't want him running around and I'm telling you're assuming he's like that, look at him..he's doing nothing but standing next to me. So I have him, a 3 YEAR OLD... sit down by himself in the waiting area meanwhile I thought I was just gonna do the X-rays and then I could bring him back there. Nope. We go to a room where they have two chairs and I said oh are we doing the x rays here and the mute nurse says yes and then cleaning and I said okay well can I bring him after the X-rays and she says no we can't. So basically I was gonna leave him out there by himself the whole time. I asked what's the big deal, why can't I just have him sit there...of course another nurse intercedes and starts telling me AGAIN..well we don't want him running around... Guys! Communicate...hell man...I've been through this at other offices. They accommodate. Okay. Not every kid is the same. Don't assume. Me and him have done this before. He knows to just sit and chill. And "Business owner" don't tell me to call relations just so you guys don't get real feedback here for everyone else to see knowing relations isn't gonna do crap about these ladies attitudes. My wife is an employee at Loma Linda University and I did not choose to go here. Business owner, the front office has my number if you'd like to contact me. They know who I am. They won't forget this interaction and neither will I.
