While we typically rely on a family friend for electrical work, his current unavailability forced us to look for a local professional. After reaching out to several businesses well past midnight, Gene was the only one to provide an immediate response. His promptness and willingness to engage outside of standard business hours were incredibly impressive. Despite my own scheduling challenges and a delay in my communication the following day, Gene remained remarkably patient and professional. Once we connected, he was able to accommodate an appointment quickly. Upon arrival, Gene was thorough and efficient. He systematically troubleshot the electrical panels and exterior AC connections. When the initial tests didn't reveal the source of the problem, he went above and beyond by inspecting the furnace in the attic. While I initially feared the issue might require a separate HVAC specialist, Gene identified and resolved the root cause himself. He took the time to explain the technical details, ensuring I understood the work being performed. It is rare to find a technician who is as honest as they are skilled. Gene is a true professional who clearly takes pride in his work and treats his clients with genuine care. I highly recommend Gene and Plug Electric to anyone seeking an experienced, trustworthy, and responsive electrician. I will certainly be referring him to my own network in the future.

I can't say enough good things about Doug and Douglas Electric. I had a Zinsco 200A panel that I…read morewanted replaced, as well as additional circuits added to my garage. Doug came out and did a full assessment, went above and beyond with spending the time to answer all of my questions about the process, some of the concerns I had with some existing circuits, and a huge worry I had about my SMUD utility line that was underground (not in a conduit), that he would be removing from the old panel and installing in the new. Once the assessment was complete, he provided me a competitive quote, described the permitting process, and the scheduling windows. I agreed to the contract, and we quickly began the process. In two days SMUD sent their engineer to come by and set up their part of the engagement and once the official scheduled day came Doug was promptly back early in the morning, along with SMUD techs to disconnect my utility so Doug can begin the work. He was very careful, thorough, and once again respectful to my questions (felt bad interrupting him from time to time as he was so deep into the replacement, and he was very kind and happily described where in the process he was and answered my questions). By 3PM the new panel was installed, he called SMUD to return and reconnect my utility service, and the job was complete..... it looked so much better, but more importantly was so much safer. He then scheduled the final inspection, and everything passed with no issues :) Doug then came back out to install the extra circuits in my garage for future tool stations, and all of that work went just as smooth. I can't tell you the stress of not knowing how the job was going to go and how well Doug was able to complete all of it and put my worries at ease. I would recommend Doug for your electrical work, and appreciate all that he and his employees did to make my job go so smooth.

They showed up early, so they get a star. The cut into the…read morewall without contacting the landlord to make sure this was ok, even though I told one of the workers directly not just once but twice, "call the landlord". When the wall was cut, the way they patched it up was totally unsafe and well for lack of better words, half-ass in my humble opinion , but please, see picture and let me know what you think, especially if this was your child's room. My landlord was very upset as this was my son's room specifically. Fortunately they were coming back because, I had just called them to let them know, whatever they did, caused a whole different issue - my kitchen, garage, and whole side of the house was now surging out. They came back, I give them another credit for getting back within an hour. They properly covered the hole they made, (again see pictures for reference). Why it wasn't done like that initially is beyond me. I would hope one would understand if there wasn't a whole in the wall when you arrived, there certainly shouldn't be one after the job you supposedly completed. To fix the new issue that was created by them fixing the original issue, that they didn't realize they did until I called them about it, they needed attic access. This is thru my spare bedroom. Hold that thought, for now... So... They fixed the new issue I was told, they were packing up to leave, I went to my son's room to flip on his light (which was the original issue and main reason for the call initially) and low and behold, the light doesn't come on. I wish I WAS MAKING JOKES. There were 3-4 guys at a time working on this project, you think a quick check before ya go ‍ ...guess not. I was told because of the switch out with the lighting fixture as well, now, they didn't have the right bulb, so they would be back in the morning with that. They came early again and it worked. Now back to the attic access in my spare room. It's thru the closet. I had a painting in there rolled up. I just bought it. Stored it in there until I was going to get it framed. Purchased 9/30- I noticed it was not there afterwards. It's my spare room, my mom stays there, no one else. When I called to see if Lisa could ask the guys to check the truck or just ask to see if they accidentally may have grabbed it, just when cleaning up after working there, she immediately said, Kevin didn't take it. Going on about him working there 35 years... etc. I said, Lisa, I didn't even say I thought Kevin took it, I sadly don't remember any of the guys name,- first off. So I repeated, I am calling, and I wanted to explain to you just so you can pass it on to the guys, as I am sure they work at many homes- just to "paint the picture" so to speak, of the house, the situation...they had to access my attic thru the closest, by chance during clean-up was there a painting, rolled up like a poster- mistakenly grabbed. Lisa still seemed pretty agitated at my call and just plainly said she would call me back the next day. She did, and her message started the same way, Kevin is a 35 yr employee, I trust him and he didn't take anything from your attic- I was just hoping she would have said, hey I had the guys check the trucks, I asked, we looked and you know, there is no painting. Never did I say it was in the attic, my attic isn't a storage attic to begin with and she was just going on about Kevin. That's great about Kevin! Go Kevin! I love you Kevin, thanks for coming back and getting the job done! Anyway I called my landlord today to confirm if they ever called or even apologized for cutting into the wall, she said no. I wanted her to understand incase they told her otherwise that it was clearly communicated to call her by me, and I was just as mystified it didn't happen. Let me be clear, it wasn't Kevin I told it too- we know Kevin is just about perfect. just want to make sure we are clear on that. I think Kevin maybe the owner. Look- the work got done, was it perfect no, not at first. I have this pig painting from NY I bought myself, from. vendor in Central Park, I am not a fancy art collector here, let me make that clear... I spent $80 buck on it. I am not sweating over it, I can go back and get another- I was just truly curious if It was mistakenly grabbed. I just wish Lisa would have picked up on that- but you know what, I love knowing how much she stand by and adores Kevin! Very devoted! Love it. If it was up to me, I think I would call a different company for my home, plus they hardly answer their phone too. Good luck whatever you decide.
