Jessica M DeLong Renkenberger, using the address 6365 N 500 East, Kendallville, IN 46705, phone 260-242-9596, contracted to replace a driveway, create a stone driveway, and pour footers and a pad for a home greenhouse on 4-19-2020. As of today, August 4th, 2020, we have heard nothing from her in over a week, though we have tried to contact her by phone, text, and email. She has made multiple colorful but somewhat believable excuses for months not to complete our job, though she was paid in full in the amount of $10,060. The greenhouse pad was half excavated, but now grown up with weeds and never poured. The driveway was completed with some damage done to the edges by taking the forms off too early. It was never backfilled and there are still 3' deep holes near where the mailman delivers. I, a 70-year-old woman with severe rheumatoid arthritis hand-dug piles of dirt and filled in the rest myself. Her partner said he would level and seed in the areas they tore up, but they are all weeds now, still waiting for finishing. They left huge piles of concrete and asphalt mixed in with dirt in three places in our yard as well which my 72-year-old husband with a pulmonary embolism has been breaking up with a sledgehammer and hauling into a pile in the back corner of the yard so we can rake out, level and reseed the areas. There are mounds of fill dirt and black dirt growing weeds waiting for them to pour the greenhouse footers, pad, and then backfill the area. They have repeatedly promised to come over and over on specific days and then didn't show up with every excuse from "a tornado tore up my back yard and I am waiting for the insurance adjuster" and "my son is in the hospital from a spider bite" to "I have to finish another pour first and will be right over and with that check pay for the gravel to finish your gravel driveway (still not done). My husband Rodney made the mistake of trusting her because she said she had been a nurse and that her husband Jason was a policeman and he didn't think anyone like that would be a cheat. We want to warn people so they won't have 3-1/2+ months of worry, financial expense, and disappointment at the hands of this crook who has probably pulled the wool over unsuspecting innocent people before.
