Entered with an old credit voucher worth $50 from previous book sales. I figured that I would get a…read morefew books from a local bookstore rather than online because I already had the credit here. Firstly, I searched their online inventory website for the desired books. Website reported books in stock but were not on selves. The staff couldn't locate them either and said they would update the inventory. So the inventory site is unreliable. Secondly, upon ringing me up for $20, I produced the voucher thinking it would cover the entire cost. Unfortunately, it is only good for half the price of your purchase. When I expressed my confusion about this policy. The tall crotchety old man raised his voice and loudly repeated: "Good for HALF the purchase!" Sir there is no only else inside the store. It's not loud in there. I was your only customer all afternoon. There was no need to raise your voice at me. How embarrassing to get to the ripe old age of grey and still be throwing tantrums at paying customers no less! I should have left the store without purchasing anything but I was just so stunned! I understand that I failed to thoroughly read the small text at the bottom of the voucher that explains their policy. The old man could have simply referred to the text on the voucher instead of displaying such disrespectful behavior. Take your business elsewhere because your patronage is obviously not valued here.

After he mentioned it, I looked it up on Yelp and was pleasantly surprised by the reviews. This is a cute bookstore! The prices are unbeatable! I wanted the Twilight book set for a gift and found it here, for a lot cheaper than other places. The set was in great condition too. The bookstore is very organized and clean. It was pretty easy to navigate the store and find books. Service was good too. The person offered to help us look for what we wanted. I would come back here for more books in the future.

Similarly, when I went to checkout one hour later, I was quickly and warmly attended to. You read that right. One! Hour! There were a lot of people, but it honestly felt nice. The air buzzed with literary excitement. There were plenty of books for all tastes. I personally love literary fiction, and I was very excited to find Mark Salzman. I overheard other people gushing over their hidden gem finds, too. In the end, I got 8 books, 2 postcards, and 1 tote for less than $26. On a normal day, would I have left with all 8 books? No, but I definitely would have left with 4 of them for almost the same price. Great finds with great prices. Will definitely come back on a regular day, too.

The Friends of the Yorba Linda Public Library Book Corner is located on the west side of the Yorba…read moreLinda Public Library, right under the big stair case. There are two ways to get to this small book shop, one is to walk past the main entrance of the library and go down the stair case, or you can park on the west side of the library and enter under the large stair case. The store is tiny, but you can find some steals and bargains here. Make sure you come with plenty of time, patience and cash as they have quiet a bit to look through. About half of the items that are sold are old library items and the other half have been donated by people no longer wanting them. Books usually sell for $1, some are marked a little higher depending on how valuable they really are. The purpose of the Book Corner is to raise funds for more library programming. From what I can recall, the Friends of the Yorba Linda Public Library do give quiet a bit of money back to the library. The book corner has a couple of pretty large book sales every couple of months. These book sales get packed, but can secure you some awesome scores. They sell everything from books on CD, video games, records and books for all ages and subjects! Check them out and support your local library!

We do not have many independent bookstores around anymore so to find this literally sparked joy! Glad husband and I had a chance to wander through this wonderland of books. There are a lot to dig, for sure. We spent a good hour there, most of it conversing with the owner, Thomas. He is really nice and knows his books for sure! It was super cool getting to know him in such a short period of time. Anyway, I guarantee that you will walk out with a book in hand! I found a couple books...this should keep me busy for a little bit, lol. Husband, of course found a few too, for his library. Every time I mention "let's go the bookstore", husband would always frown because we have so many books! I would respond, "would you rather me shop for another handbag?" LOL. Yea...I didn't think so. Reading is fundamental. Keep on reading and exploring and discovering new stories and adventures in a book near you. Come and support this local bookstore and keep it alive. i walked away with a light heart on my first visit to untold story. that's not to say, however,…read morethat the bookstore didn't have anything physical in stock. first of its kind in anaheim, untold offers a great selection of literature from children's picture books to young adult romance novels, and offers space for purchasers (and non-purchasers) to lounge and read. if you don't want to read, they also have free coffee and a microwave for you to heat your food, so you could eat and drink coffee as you please! on some weekends, they host free events, like loteria nights as well as community-led workshops. occasionally, they have an art exhibit in the back you can browse and potentially buy from (they actually have one up right now for november)! the owner of the store, magda, was super welcoming to me. before i had left the shop, she quickly gave me a rundown of their unique offerings, and although i didn't say this out loud, i could tell why the place was so meaningful not only to her but to the rest of anaheim. this is more than a bookstore. this is a place of refuge made for the community, by the community. check it out, and enjoy the space whenever you're in the area!

Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. While in line, my daughter's friend, who was standing in front of us, was incorrectly counted as part of our family/group. When the owner handed us only two tickets, I respectfully explained multiple times that she was not my daughter and was not part of our group. Despite this clarification, we were still denied the same opportunity that many other families appeared to receive. What was especially upsetting was seeing several larger groups leave the store with 6-8 NeeDohs, while our family was limited unfairly. I waited afterward to calmly explain the situation to the owners, but my concerns were dismissed. One of the responses I received was, "You are making this awkward for me." Rules and policies should be applied consistently and fairly to everyone. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling as though assumptions were made based on ethnicity, and that our group was treated differently because "we all looked alike." That is not acceptable. I have always enjoyed supporting small businesses, but discrimination or unequal treatment toward ethnic minorities is something I cannot overlook. This was a very disappointing experience, and unfortunately, it has changed my perspective on supporting this business moving forward.
