Update on 11/30/2020: JMF finally finished all pending works on Tue 11/24/2020, just two days before Thanksgiving, and 3 months AFTER the planmed finish date. Lessons learned: if you have big renovations, you can still hire JMF (for the sake of quality) but, make sure you sign a contract stating the time of completion, itemize the work stating the price of each item, so you know how much to pay when the item is built *; hold 10% of each payment (to be paid later when work is complete); put a condition in the contract for "Liquidated Damages" which is a penalty for delay, let it be a 2% of the total contract price for each day of delay; * pay attention to "front loading", which is overpricing of the items of the work which come first, and underpricing the late items (the total contract price remains the same); contractors use this strategy to vaccum more money upfront. And finally, JMF are not bad people, actually they finished one of my jobs, a small two-day job, without even a downpayment or signing a contract, a shake-hand type of contract that was paid after work was complete. Will I hire JMF for my next BIG job? Yes. Lesson learned. read more

Was driving on the 55 south today at 6:39AM and one of their drivers in their company van was driving in the fast trak lane while I was on the non fast trak leftest lane. He removed the walk-in closet, which we were not using, to enlarge the bedroom. He closed the original entrance into the bathroom and made a new, larger entrance from the bedroom. He moved electrical, installed a walk-in shower with grab bars, new vanities, sink, and toilet and so much more. He painted both rooms and laid new flooring with 6" baseboards. He literally came over to give me a quote and said he will let me know how much it'll be the next day but 3 days pass so I texted him and his wife to know about the quote. I found JMF Construction through Instagram. It turned out to be a blessing. Sent them a message and immediately got a response. A week later Jaime came to do a free estimation. Showed up wearing a mask, and during Covid-19 times that helps a lot to build trust. Later that day sent the estimation, consulted with my family and we agreed. Booked for August and they came the first day bright and early. Did all the demo day one. Turned out the floor had more damage than initially expected but Jaime gave a good price and we agreed to have him fortify the floor in weak areas before placing the vinyl flooring. They finished by Friday and we were extremely happy with the results. I would recommended them to anyone who has a major home improvement project in the near future. They will not disappoint.
