I came in to get my car armrest reupholstered. I called to get a quote on the price before hand and when I came in to pay the price doubled. I asked them would they be able to do an exact or close match to the stitching (we already concluded that the material would not be an exact match but it would be close and I was fine with that). When I came in the stitching was a different color and in a different position. I was then told that they would not be able to do an exact match unless they ordered a door panel which would cost another 1250 - 1500 (not including installation). They attempted to fix the positioning of the stitch but after $100 in uber to get back and forth and it not being for / what they told be it would be from the beginning, I am just over it. If they could not do the job they should have told me that instead of giving me something I did not ask for or want. They have really good customer service but the actual auto reupholstery service is not the best.

We've used other upholsterers for projects off and on over the years- recovering this or that, and…read moreABZ comes out head and shoulders above the other three+ places in the Triangle we have used. We brought in a project, an antique hassock that a friend had gifted us with a storied past: it was purchased by her late father-in-law when he was stationed in post-war Morocco. The bottom of the hassock (calfskin?) was worn, and the ancient cotton batting was falling out. ABZ to the rescue. They stitched on a full-coverage patch that should last another 70 years, and blended in the stitching to make sure that the original craftsmanship wasn't obscured in the slightest. From drop off to pickup was less than a week, and their call to let us know that it was complete was a complete and pleasant surprise. Pricing? Horribly reasonable for custom work. It looks like they do both furniture and a lot of boat upholstery, too. If you have a project in the Triangle, I'd call them first. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

On the day of service, Pater and Mark called to see if they can come earlier due to weather. They arrived on time and explained the whole treatment process to before doing the work. I was a little cautious as the leather is a Porsche tan color seat and worried of discoloration. They basically removed the stain spot and also repaired a worn out area of the center console where the material was 'peeling'. The process was actually quick and took about an hour. The result was fantastic. Stain removed and center console looks perfect. All in all, friendly service, on time, fair price, and great work! Highly recommended!! I included pics of before and after.

From the owner: The Story of Upholstery Doctor LLC "From a One-Man Mission…read moreto a Global Luxury Restoration Empire" It all started in a small garage in Raleigh, North Carolina, where one man, Paris Davon Mitchell, turned his passion for restoring comfort, elegance, and design into a business that would soon become a symbol of craftsmanship and excellence — Upholstery Doctor LLC. At first, it was just the essentials — home furniture repairs, auto upholstery for headliners, seat redesigns, door panels, and center consoles. But even then, every stitch told a story. Every piece of furniture reborn was a promise kept to a customer seeking more than just function — they wanted luxury, comfort, and class. We moved from car seats to couches, from RVs to boat interiors — and as word spread, so did our mission. Soon, we weren’t just fixing upholstery; we were reviving entire experiences. Today — and Tomorrow Today, Upholstery Doctor LLC is not only serving clients in the heart of North Carolina but also preparing for a future that’s bold and borderless. We envision luxury warehouse hubs across the United States — and internationally — where customers can fly in their private jets or drive in their Rolls-Royces, Bentleys, Lamborghinis, and Porsches for full interior transformations.
