Imagine my horror and disappointment when I open and find it damaged in shipment! Luckily the honest seller refunded my money and I set out to find someone who would repair it. I found most antique places want bigger jobs, bigger furniture. When I found Jeff Johnson's website and read the reviews I thought.... I have nothing to lose.... Flash forward to the after photos (I uploaded so you can see for yourself) and it is beautifully restored. Not only is the chip fixed but he refinished everything so it looks better that ever. I would not hesitate to bring even my most prized antique to Jeff. Quality work, fast. tips - he seems to communicate best via email. This works for me but heads up if you are used to a voice on the phone. he has an arrangement with another company so that if he is out of the office you can leave things or pick up things. This is super convenient but struck me as a little odd. I guess I am just a cynical transplant from the north and I worried about security but it seems to be de rigueur here so I guess I just need to chill out and adjust! I decided the price was worth it given the quality wood, workmanship and the fact that he was willing to measure my space. You can't get that level of service nowadays and for such quality product anywhere else I am aware of. I ordered a table, chairs, stools, side table, coffee table and corner cabinet. I could not be happier with the outcome., It is truly quality furniture at a reasonable price considering what you get. They restored our Merton Gershun Accord bedroom set, which we sourced from different vendors. The nightstands, dresser, and mirror were in decent shape, but the headboard was in a bit rougher shape. Now every single piece looks cohesive, flawless, and honestly better than we ever imagined. We also brought them a 1969 Lane coffee table we found on Facebook Marketplace. It had water stains, uneven legs, and plenty of wear. Brian worked his magic, and it came back looking like a showpiece. It is perfectly restored, structurally solid, and visually stunning. On top of that, we purchased unfinished wood bedframes and had them tone and color matched to our MCM sets. The match is spot on !!!! You'd never know they weren't part of the original collection. Their attention to detail is incredible, pricing is excellent, craftsmanship is outstanding, and communication/responsiveness is top tier. They keep you in the loop with pictures of the restoration process. They're also refreshingly no nonsense and genuinely do right by you. They explain exactly what needs to be done and why. While other places gave quotes based on photos, Brian actually came out to our storage locker to inspect everything firsthand so he could give an accurate assessment. Brian was more than happy to help us decide on our furniture purchases. We had seen two headboards for our Gerhsun set on ebay at vastly different price points. Both would have needed to be restored, though one looked in a bit worse shape than the other. Brian expertly steered us to purchasing what we needed and saved us significant cash. He did find the hinges I needed for the doors on a dresser even though the dresser old. He put them in but did not show me till after that he had to remove some wood pieces on side to get the hinges to fit. It looks bad but will look better when I stain exposed areas. My one major complaint is that one door is perfect and closes well. The other door is slightly off - when I close it rubs against the side of the dresser. In closing it has actually "shaved" off some of the wood on the door. I will have to sand the door to keep it from rubbing on the side of the dresser
