Melanie (co-owner) deconstructed the first cushion, showed us how it had been padded, and made suggestions as to how to remedy the situation. As we dithered over which direction to take, Melanie paid attention to all of mom's concerns and said to come back in an hour. When we returned, she had one cushion complete, the result of her attacking the problem a couple of ways and coming up with a cushion that looked and sat better than ever before. Within 24 hours, she had all four cushions complete and ready for holiday guests. Melanie was professional, delightful and a wonderful surprise. On the day of service, Pater and Mark called to see if they can come earlier due to weather. They arrived on time and explained the whole treatment process to before doing the work. I was a little cautious as the leather is a Porsche tan color seat and worried of discoloration. They basically removed the stain spot and also repaired a worn out area of the center console where the material was 'peeling'. The process was actually quick and took about an hour. The result was fantastic. Stain removed and center console looks perfect. All in all, friendly service, on time, fair price, and great work! Highly recommended!! I included pics of before and after.

SO...I used J's Upholstery some years ago and loved the job they did to recover a large…read moresofa....could not say enough about how well done it is. Meanwhile, I used a different company to upholster a large chair and paid top price. I knew right away the job was not right and I could see the winkles in the chair, the lack of care about matching the pattern of the fabric and it bothered me every time I walked by it...I like things done right. So...I took the hassock and the pillows from the chair to Richard Gasper at J's Upholstery and he did an amazing job of re-stuffing the cushions, building a "crown" in them and getting the stuffing right. Finally I have a chair I feel proud to sit in each day and to have in my living area. Really can't say enough about what a difference this made. I completely recommend Richard for any upholstery needs.

TAKE MY ADVICE AND DON'T USE THIS VENDOR. THE QUALITY OF THE WORK WAS AWFUL AND THEY ARE DISHONEST…read more I took them to small claims court and the judge ordered them to pay me $500. They didn't pay and are now in violation of a court order. I brought in three upholstered chairs and a sofa to be recovered, based on a referral and Yelp. One of the chairs was returned and curved piece of wood that formed the leg and the chair fell off the first time I tried to pick it up to move it. The the cover for the back was crooked and Raphael said he didn't know how to fix it. I got out some pins and showed him how it could be done. He took it to fix it and I haven't seen it since. The fabric around that arm was puckered, but he used so much glue to reattach it I'm afraid the if I try to have the wood removed it will destroy the chair. I had 2 other upholstered chairs. First the back covers were to small, then they were too big, then they were different lengths. The biggest problem was the sofa. Thsere were numerous problems. Every time I pointed out a problem Rafael would say, "That's a problem and it should be fixed." The cushions hung out 4" beyond the frame and beige zippers were used with dark grey fabric. He explained that the overhand happened because the stuffing should have been replaced. I told him that since I'm not a professional, I took his word for what was causing the problem. I asked why the people working on the piece hadn't told me about this problem, because if they had I would have immediately authorized them to replace the foam. He said some of the people who do the work are better than others, and my work had been done by the less competent people. I asked if he could have the better qualified people redo the work. He said this was not possible because the more competent people wouldn't work on jobs that other people had not done properly. I asked if this meant that the furniture would be given back to the people who had already worked on my furniture, and he said, "yes". I then asked why they would do a better job this time and he had no answer. It didn't make sense to me that if the people who had messed up the job originally would magically do a better job now. No answer. During this period, I had numerous conversations with his customer service person. Almost every time I called her, she told me that she understood my problem but couldn't reach the boss who would make the decision. She also told me that I was a patient, reasonable person and she was sorry she couldn't help me better. Eventually, in November, the customer service person told me that the boss had agreed that he pay for me to have the piece recovered some place else. At this point I had to buy new fabric and find another company to do the work. Once the work was complete, I submitted copies of the invoices for the fabric and the work and followed up with 2 calls last week. NO RESPONSE. By the dates on the emails, you can see this continued for over 5 months. I AM TRYING TO TAKE THEM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT, BUT THEY ARE IGNORING SUBPOENAS. I AM OUT AMOST $3,000.

First off, the chair was picked up and handled extremely well by their staff. Chris did let me know that there would be a charge, but was extremely reasonable about it. They worked with me to confirm that the fabric that I picked was good for its use, and confirmed my timeline so they could wait and place my fabric order alongside a larger order to save me some money. (Which they did!) Chris called every time there was an issue, or even something he recommended but wasn't absolutely necessary - just to ensure I got exactly what I wanted. They even saved the old fabric and made a pillow for me, not a lot of places I called would do that. In the end, my chair (and the pillow) turned out better than I could have ever hoped. The foam and springs have been fixed, and the legs have been given new life. The upholstery itself is incredible. The seams and finishes are so well done, I'm amazed. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
