They were great, staff that came out was so friendly. They did next day. Very helpful and fast service

Didn't follow instructions, asked for more money, left me scrambling for other options. Still never gave me an invoice like promised. Maybe ok for small stuff. read more

My gmail says CA, but this was in San antonio, TX 78245. I was not going to make this review simply because I used them more than once, loved their service, however this recent service had hiccups. I had a ton brush that needed to be removed. They gave me a price of $300. I had no complaints. They said can we pick it up Friday, and I said sorry no, Im on vacation let's schedule it 2 weeks from now. The day prior, they send me a message saying the price changed to $450. I said I can't do that, can we split up the brush? They priced the big brush at $300 and the small at $150. I said, "Can you pick up the small batch which they priced it at $150 and next payday, I will pay for the big brush". They said they will come by that friday and pick the small brush up, they didnt. They respond back 2 hours later and said can I pick it up tomorrow. And I said sure. And they did pick it up. Grateful for that. Now here comes the why to a1 star review. So I message them today and said i need to schedule a pickup for Saturday. They message me and say, We changed our price. For that brush, it's $450. Now remember they came out and look at everything and said the total was 300. Changed their mind to 450 and I told them I couldn't afford all of it so let's split it. SO that means the price should have been $300 since I already paid $150. BUt they wanted me to pay $450 on top of the 150 I already paid. And I respond back, how are you going to up the price. You said 300. They respond with and I am typing word for word, "$350." "No thank you, I will find a different service." "Im sorry I dont wanna lose your business. $300, If thats okay." I responded with sure and thank you. I tell my landlord this situtation as hes been needing this brush gone and we couldn't afford such a high price of removal, and he says, cancel the service. I will find you someone else. My landlord finds a guy who came to the house same day and says that will be $200. I text the Junk service this: "hey there, we found someone who is going to do it cheaper. We appreciate your time but we will go with a different service." And they respond with "wow. ok." You can see why I rated them 1 star. read more

Needed someone to remove our junk today since we were moving into our new house. These guys were timely, everywhere else was going to do it the next day. They were cost efficient, friendly, quick response and quick at moving things out. They were very helpful at the last minute. So appreciated these guys. Dont be fooled by what you see they ended up getting everything out for a good price! read more

As a family member of a customer of JL Junk Removal -- I highly discourage anyone utilizing their services. Especially if you want your needs met with consideration and good customer service. They left my family in tears and rage as they selfishly and insensitively threw boxes labeled for donation into the trash pile. Even after agreeing and charging extra to do so. These were mementos of a recently deceased family member, who asked for them to be donated. "Just play the part", "What difference does it make", and "whatever" are terms that should never be used towards a customer, especially when they're already distraught. Considering the owner of JL Junk Removal was involved and on-site during this situation makes it even worse. These are very unethical business practices and I will be sharing this experience on the BBB. read more

I really appreciated the good work James and his team did for us. The team had a sixth sense as to what was important and would ask appropriately if certain items should be trashed. As an example, we had a UT diploma that was is the wrong pile. They brought it to our attention and asked if it should stay. Thank you for saving it. They were professional and committed to pleasing this client. My job was a big one and it took them three trips to complete the junk removal. James was courteous and called me for each visit. He provided ETA's for arrivals. Always showed up when he committed to and called me if he was running late. Very professional. I highly recommend his services. S Juarez read more

this was in San Antonio Texas. 1/18/22 speaking of my grandparents' home and belongings. I would like them to know how many people their carelessness is affecting. As tears run down my face you can add me to the list. Today we said goodbye to the home that grandmother and pawpaw lived in for the last 35+ years. So many memories right down to the wall with all the grandkids heights over the years. Heartbreaking to walk away from all of the love this house held. It was made more difficult by the ass and owner of JL Junk who I watched take the carefully packed boxes of my mother's precious belongings being thrown into the trash heap instead of being separated to go to goodwill as they had promised. When I got bids for the service, I said we needed one load to go to goodwill and one to the trash. They assured me they could do this. He had the nerve to ask me "what difference does it make to you where the stuff goes?" Well, I can tell you as I did him that it did matter to a daughter who just lost her mother and was watching pieces of her childhood being carelessly and heartlessly broken, stepped on and thrown into the trash. Especially when I showed him how we spent days carefully boxing and wrapping the delicate things and separating the boxes and labeling them to make it easy for them. When I confronted him for continuing to throw valuable things in the trash, I heard one guy tell his partner to "play the part" and pretend to separate them. I know how this felt to me and wonder how my dad felt watching this. This was done in addition to adding $200.00 to the price that was quoted even though the day before his partner had walked thru the house seeing all of the items that needed to go and taking photos to show the owner how much was there to give us the quote. He said we "added things"today. As if we went and gathered up the neighbors belongings to put in with ours. And he left about 6 bags and a chair because he "didn't have room." Not a good day to say the least. This unprofessional, lying, insensitive ass made a hard day even harder. So I encourage my friends and family who would have a problem with this to write a review for him on Yelp or google. I have never had a rant on Facebook but today was worthy. I wish I could do more to show him that u do not treat customers...or for that matter, anyone this way. read more

I had a box spring that I needed removed from my apartment. I had it outside and the whole process was (MAX) 5 minutes! The guys at JL were responsive via text message and worked with me on the price. James Lopez was a pleasure to work with, and his associate was friendly and efficient. I'll definitely use JL again if I need to get rid of some extra stuff. Great work, guys! read more

JL Junk Removal - Box spring ready for removal by JL Junk - Junk Removal & Hauling Near Me

Came out same day, got rid of my junk pretty quick, and had convenient payment options.

I contacted JL through Yelp. He was quick to respond a provide a quote. Upon arriving at my house with a pick up truck (really not large enough to handle most hauling jobs,) he proceeded to tell me that he would need more money to do the job. Fearing I had no other choice, as I was trying to get out of there, I agreed to his new price. About an hour later he approached me, half way through the job, and told me that this load was all he was going to take today, and that he would come back tomorrow, but would need MORE MONEY. He wouldn't tell me what time he could be there to complete the job, as he had something else scheduled the next day, and that he wanted payment up front. I agreed to give him partial payment (now I'm in for TWICE THE ORIGINAL QUOTE, and he still wants more.) I gave him my number and told him to call me in the morning with an estimate to when he would arrive. The next day came and went. No call. Just straight NO SHOW. He had my money. Why would this scammer need to complete the job? It was my last day at the house, and I was forced to reach out to a real professional who agreed to come out on an emergency basis. The new guys arrived promptly and hauled away what was left for less than half of what JL asked me to pay as a remaining balance. Don't waste your time with JL Junk Removal. Hire a professional, who will be professional, and not try to scam you. read more

It has been two years since my mother passed away and I used this trash removal service. I am still traumatized whenever I think of it. And thought I should send this review again. As I saw in another review, they did raise our price after having quoted one price after looking at the items. They had stated they would pick up one pile to go to the trash and one pile to go to Goodwill. As they were moving the items that my sister and I had carefully packed of my mothers belongings, they threw them onto the truck with the trash and broke them. I stopped them and asked what they were doing and told them those items were supposed to go to Goodwill. He looked at me and stated what is the difference? apparently they never intended to take any items to Goodwill but rather trash all of my mothers belongings. It did matter to me and as a daughter I am still grieving and I'm still angry about this callous and undeserved treatment from someone who was supposed to be a professional. That was the owner that I was speaking to if you can believe that? read more

Crazy to see a old friend belongings being shorted for there owe employees use. Even after being told to give it to Good will. Then to say what difference doesn't make where it goes. Will never use or recommend this company to anyone read more

I emailed JL Junk Removal to try and schedule a trash removal. The responses were either one-word answers or very dry. I provided pictures and dates on when I needed the item to be removed. I was given a date on which JL Junk was supposed to come get the item. The individual I was communicating with didn't ask for a phone # or address of the location. It is the day before the scheduled pick up and I have emailed JL Junk Removal several times to try and get some answers. I was quoted by another company who can do the same job for $100 cheaper and they give a veteran's discount. It only took one email for everything to be coordinated with the other company as well. Update**The company I went with is JDog Junk Removal. read more

Prompt. Friendly. Professional. Very reasonably priced. James was able to quickly provide me with a quote, and made an appointment for same-day. He contacted me to let me know he was on his way and arrived 15 mins early with a 3-man crew. Very efficient and came prepared with the right tools to get the job done right. In and out in half an hour. Would have taken us hours to do the same. Highly recommend. read more

Same day service is hard to beat when you need it. Remodeling a house with kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets, tub, doors and other trash all removed from the front and back of the property. Found jl after searching " junk removal san antonio " liked the fact that you could text pictures to get an estimate. I sent some pictures and got a reasonable price. We scheduled a day for James to come out. He came out and said he could only take half, he asked if I could give him half. I did. I based my decision on multiple 5 star reviews only. He said he would come back for the rest. He never did. I looked at the pile and it looked smaller but it is still there. I have hired someone else. Be careful and make sure the work is done before paying. I will never call or refer this company. read more

After a long long time of having "stuff", it was time to get rid of it.....so we can get more "stuff". JL was the first and quickly to get back to us to get rid of the "stuff". They showed up on time and I felt bad because it was only 2 of them and we had a few real heavy items, old school tv and sofa but they got it out without damaging the walls. I want to thank you guys for taking our junk. Might call you again in a few years to get rid of the "stuff" we get to replace the old "stuff" by getting new "stuff". read more

James of JL Junk Removal was very efficient and dependable. My cousins and I were in town just for a few days helping our auntie prepare for a move so we needed the quote and job done promptly...as in almost immediately. I called on Saturday and he said to send him a photo of the stuff to be removed. He gave me a reasonable quote and we agreed on Monday as a haul away date. Over the next days the pile grew from a mound about the size of a VW bug to two-thirds of a double garage plus a pile of stuff on the patio. I informed James and he said he could bring a trailer to haul it away. They, James and Joshua, were on time on Monday as scheduled and we negotiated a fair price for the additional stuff (and yes, it was a bit more stuff- maybe 2-times as much. We're cleaning to move.) and took maybe two-hours to collect it all from the garage and back patio. They didn't even complain as I added stuff to the piles while they were loading up. They were professional and tied down the items so they wouldn't fly away. When we,the cousins, come back in a few months to finish the move, we'll use JL Junk Removal again. read more

This company is awesome! I originally called another company, was routed to voice mail, left a voice mail but never heard back. Very easy to do business with. We had just demolished a deck and had piles of wood to dispose of.
