Like other reviews, Joel and Kristine really are the epitome of a power couple and the dream team. When we first met with them, my husband and I felt an instant connection, and we knew immediately we wanted them to be our videographers. They also won our hearts by providing us with boba drinks during the first meeting! Our wedding was unfortunately postponed due to the Covid pandemic but they were very accommodating to the circumstances. Fast forward to the day of the wedding, Joel and his team arrived promptly. I knew from the very get-go that my wife and I wanted a videographer to capture our wedding. The only issue was who...and let me say that Jkapture and Joel was and IS an amazing choice. I heard about Joel when my wife and I viewed a friend's proposal video that Joel and his co. helped filmed. It was so epic and cinematic and the attention to detail, as well as song selection were all positives. When my husband and I were first planning our wedding, we had no idea where to start. We asked around for advice and a lot of our friends who had gotten married said, it's like interviewing for a job. So, my husband went and researched a list of videographers that had a "style" that we both liked. The list came down to about 3. We tried to meet with one and it never worked out because things happened. We never met that that videographer in person. We contacted Joel via email and he was extremely responsive. We met him in person to kinda go over what we were looking for and also we wanted to know what his personality was like. Immediately, everything clicked. He was extremely detail oriented, and very easy to talk to. That was very important to us because he would be capturing one of the most important day of our lives. During our initial meeting, he went showed us a few other weddings he has worked on; he showed us a variety of same day edits, short wedding films, and the full documentary. After showing us some of his "portfolio", he asked us what we were looking for in a videographer, what our price range was, and what we wanted for the wedding (same day edits, aerial footage, multiple angles...etc). He was extremely elaborate and patient. After that meeting, he told us to think about it and shop around. He didn't give us any pressure. My husband and I are extremely happy that we booked with Joel and Kristine. The month before the wedding was when Joel and a Kristine reached out giving us an outline of what the video would be like. They asked for songs that we would want in the video (so once the wedding is over they can start on edits). The week before the wedding we met with Joel in their super cute office! He went over the timeline for the wedding, asked us if there were any specific people we really wanted captured in our video. He showed us the website that he would host our video on. The day of the wedding is always super hectic and crazy, but they were great sports. They are very genuine and compassionate and that was portrayed on our wedding day; whether it was in a professional or personal manner. In the morning, I received a call and had some hiccups with some vendor and Kristine was trying to comfort me, saying everything will be okay. They reminded us to enjoy the moment and the day. Hearing from multiple people that a videographer was either (1) the best decision they've made for their wedding or (2) they regret not getting a videographer, my wife and I began our search. After watching sample highlight videos, they all seemed similar and we liked their style. What sold us was when my wife met Joel and Kristine for an initial in-person meeting. They were polite, friendly, experienced, local, organized, artistic, and most importantly talented. For the actual wedding day, they captured all of the important events in perfect quality and sound. You could barely notice that they were actually even there. They did a good job of blending in, not getting in the way, while still getting the best shots. Within a couple of weeks, we received our 3 minute cinematic highlight video and within a month we received our hour edited documentary. During one of our meetings, I remember them telling us that for the highlight video, they don't like to use popular songs. They like to use independent/unknown songs that are still perfect for the video because it doesn't take away from the actual footage. They were 100% right. The music was perfect and I didn't find myself focusing on the song, but rather our wedding. For the longer edited documentary style, they did use songs from our actual wedding during the actual parts and it blended perfectly. Looking back, it was very helpful and important to us that JKapture was very responsive leading up to the actual wedding. If we sent them an email, they were quick to respond. Our videographer didn't show up the morning of and we found Joel the day of the wedding, 7/27/13, and he showed up in less than 45 mins ready to go. We've met with several photographers/videographers but nobody stood out besides this power couple. They were very easy to work with and made sure we were comfortable with everything. Having a wedding videographer was not one of my original "must haves" on the planning list, but after watching numerous wedding videos online, I decided I, too, needed someone to immortalize my wedding day with a tear-inducing, sweet video set to cute music. Joel and his team at JKapture ended up being an awesome choice for that, plus more. Joel was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating; he was always quick to respond to emails, and meeting up with him prior to the wedding was a great help in calming my jitters and giving me a better idea of how the process would work. The day of the wedding, he and two other videographers arrived on time and I never felt like they were in the way or invading awkwardly. As we found later (watching the video), they also took some awesomely creative shots of my dress and other details. Our short wedding video turned out amazing and everyone cried when they saw it. Since I knew who detailed she was, I went with Joel without a doubt! And I am so glad I did! Joel was AWESOME. We hired him at the last minute, only a month away. I didn't meet him personally until the day of the wedding. It wasn't necessary, because he asked all the right questions and details about my wedding day perfectly. I didn't worry what so ever. On the day of the wedding, Joel and his crew and my photographer were getting along so well. They exchange a view and suggestions each other for a better shot. Later my photographer told me he felt so comfortable working with Joel. My wedding and reception didn't go well as I planned. Also, I didn't have time to really take care of Joel... however, they did an awesome job putting together by asking for additional shots so they could add to our videos. After the wedding, we were so busy and lost the contact. It was totally my fault... Joel asked for a transcript of our wedding vows.... But I was not able to get it to them... BUT Joel edited our highlight perfectly. Later, our final video was great! Joel helped changing few colors and few wording but it was just great that I didn't have to ask him to re-edit the video! In few weeks, I received the box with the USB in it. After several months, I tried to grab videos from the USB for my parents. But found out the USB was not readable... I was panicking since it was kind of my fault that I didn't check the USB right away... and also it was such a long time ago since I received the video clips from Joel. But without a doubt, Joel fixed it right away. This time he even gave me a DVD for a spare. In a way, we were such a bad customer :-( but Joel and his studio were so kind to us! Joel and his wife shot my sister's wedding video a few years ago. Our whole family loved it so much that when it was my turn to get married, finding a videographer was a very easy decision. My initial meeting with Joel was over FaceTime and I immediately felt at ease because he was friendly, easy to work with, and experienced. He cared a lot about understanding the story of my wife and me. This was especially apparent in the weeks leading up to the wedding when he sent us a two page questionnaire asking us to detail everything from how we met and how we got engaged to what special relationships existed with family members so that they could be captured for the video. My wife and I also met with Joel before the wedding so that we could review the timeline together and make sure everyone was ready for the big day. Overall, we really appreciate how organized and responsive Joel was throughout the entire process leading up to the wedding. On the day of the wedding, Joel and his wife arrived early to the hotel where we were going to film the wedding party getting ready. Joel worked really well with our photographers throughout the entire day, trading opportunities to get the shots they needed. During the actual wedding, the video cameras felt invisible, yet the footage perfectly summed up the magical moments of the night. Joel is truly a professional and knows how to get the shots without being in your way during the event. After the wedding, we received our wedding highlights within a month and our documentary highlights in less than two months. During this time, there were many holidays and I imagine it would've taken even less time if everyone wasn't traveling. Overall, I was very happy with how long it took to receive our videos. For the documentary highlights, I had multiple rounds of editing requests for Joel. He was always very accommodating and made all revisions with quick turnaround times. We knew our day would come and go in the blink of an eye, and it was so important to us that we have something to help savor the memories. Being on a tight budget, it was very tempting for us to skip hiring a videographer. But Joel isn't kidding when he says his work is an investment! Leading up to the wedding, he asked us a set of questions to better know us as a couple: our song preferences, special wedding moments to focus on, etc. When we received the final product, we were overjoyed that he was able to capture every single detail of the wedding. He even allowed us a couple tiny changes to the documentary (we fell in love with a different song and wanted it included in the video). We loved working with Joel & Kristine! We decided pretty late in the game that we wanted to have videographers at our wedding, and we're so glad we did ultimately did. I knew about JKapture before I booked them for our wedding in January. I was determined to see just how good they were so I viewed every wedding highlight video on their profile. Well, guess what? I cried at almost all the videos. The videos touched me to the core emotionally and that is how they got my business. For some brides, their dress or the wedding cake was most important. To me it was the videography. My dress will eventually be tucked away in a box and probably put on eBay to be auctioned or sold. Obviously the cake will be eaten and indulged even before the wedding night is over. Our wedding video is most important because we want to show our family and friends who could not be there to share our special day as well as share with our kids in the future how we celebrated the first day of being husband and wife. Aside from their professionalism, it was the quality, creativity, the perfect song to match the scene and the uniqueness of our video that made me cry happy tears. If you want to cry happy tears too, I would definitely recommend Joel and his team as they did an awesome job. I will always remember our special day by the way they created it cinematic style. My husband and I booked Jkapture Studios about 5 months ago for our wedding. We've seen their work from our friend's wedding reception when they played their "same day edit". We knew right away that this is the videographers that we would want to hire for our wedding. We contacted Jkapture via e-mail. We also did a one-time facetime/call appointment just to go over some details. Joel and Kristine were very responsive to our emails and they were able to answer all of our questions. Joel gave us other suggestions and Ideas that we could add to our wedding such as first look, shoe game and the group photo of all our guests on the dance floor. On the day of our wedding, the weather didn't really cooperated with our plan. But, their team encouraged us to stick with our original plan and we are so glad that we did! Everything turned out well. Jkapture team was such a fun team to work with. Kristine was there to help me during the preparations even when I was changing to my wedding gown. They didn't make us feel uncomfortable or anything like that. Overall, we are rating Jkapture with 5 stars because they will make every single penny that you will spend, so worth it! First and foremost, let me just say that Joel and Kristine are genuinely nice and down to earth people. That in itself is one reason to hire them as your videographers lol! From the beginning stages of wedding planning and up until I received the final version of the documentary (my wedding was on 04/05/14!), they have been such a pleasure to work with. I found JKAPTURE STUDIOS through Yelp and I obsessively watched their videos for hours before I contacted them. After sending my first email to Joel, he replied in such a fast manner and we scheduled a meeting. Going in to the meeting, I already knew I wanted them to capture my wedding day but after sitting down and getting to know them I had complete reassurance they would be a great fit for my wedding. In the months leading up to my wedding, Joel made sure to be in contact - he is great in replying to you in a FAST manner. On my wedding day, he brought along 2 additional shooters (even though my contract only guaranteed 1 other shooter). Many people from my bridal party said they barely noticed the videographers because they were able to blend into the crowd and not be intrusive. As for the actual package and in comparison to other videographers in the area, JKapture offers an amazing deal for their price point. Joel was even able to work with me in adding an additional hour and a half to capture our bouquet and garter toss. We received our highlight reel just THREE WEEKS after our wedding day and I can't even put it into words how much both me and my husband love, love, love our video. Sorry to sound vain hehe. Joel was able to capture everything and more within that 5 minute reel. I've watched it countless times and my heart still skips a beat on certain scenes! He even chose the two songs himself, one of which I never heard of before but ABSOLUTELY fell in love with it. Originally, we had spent the last year planning our destination Hawaii wedding, and unfortunately had to postpone due to COVID. Determined to get married on our planned date, we decided to have an intimate ceremony close to home. Joel and Kristine were so professional, patient, and flexible with us, as we had to change our wedding ceremony venue 12 days before the wedding. Joel was our on-site wedding videographer, but by watching the Next Day Instateaser and Documentary Highlight film he made for us, you would never be able to guess he was by himself. Hiring JOel and his team was one of the best decisions my husband and I made for our wedding. Not only is he phenomenal at what he does, but he does it with so much passion and it truly shows in the final product. He will absolutely deliver. My husband was a bit hesitant to hire a videographer at first only because he didn't think it was necessary. I had to fight that battle with him, and obviously I won. Now that he's seen the teaser, highlights, and documentary, he is extremely happy that we made the decision to hire JOel. Working with JOel was so easy, as he was extremely responsive. We filled out a questionnaire and he listened to what we wanted captured in our video. He put together a teaser for us the day after our wedding, gave us the highlights a week after, and delivered the final documentary to us exactly one month after our wedding. It was so nice to relive our wedding day by watching the documentary. The day goes by so quickly that you don't realize some of the things that actually went on.
