First worst experience I've had here. They have a new salad on the menu and we tried it (don't do it!) - spinach, strawberry, almond, (goat cheese?), and poppy seed dressing - ODD COMBO OF FLAVORS THAT DIDNT MESH... plus we had a fly in the dressing. There were two ladies at the front podium by the door who seemed to be doing nothing while standing at the podium (they don't seat you there - you sit where you want) - we had a question and motioned them over - they acted odd/bothered and were not really engaging and seemed to lack common social skills - not to mention lacking customer service skills. They leaned all over the podium, slouching and with their hands on their chins acting like they were bored out of their minds and had no clue what to do at their "post." It was the oddest experience we've ever had there. I really just cannot get over how unprofessional and seemingly clueless these ladies were about what their job was. I can only suppose they were to be friendly, engaging, helpful and welcoming hosts to diners. They missed the mark - they were not even anywhere near the target. Our waitress was fine but, she seemed scattered and forgot us a couple of times - it was like we were in some odd world of JJ's unlike any experience we've ever had there... Hope it's just a one time deal. The manager we often see wasn't there tonight. He's always been great and when we've seen him - the place has felt completely different and more positive. The mushroom Swiss burger was dry and bland the, mushrooms were almost nonexistent, and the unwashed lettuce was a rotten cherry on top. The spud side was also bland and gritty, how do you make a steamed potato gritty?? The waitress was amazing thank you to her for being as professional as she was. This was our first visit to J.J.s. We we're there to watch dem hogs play their bowl game and get some food. Even though the parking lot was full, we were able to get a booth, and were treated to great service all night. I had my heart set on trying the shrimp tacos, but they were out of shrimp. I instead ordered the World Famous Cheeseburger. It was absolutely delicious, and I loved the onion rings I got with it. My wife ordered the taco salad, and enjoyed her food too. The positive: kids eat free and enjoyed their dinner of mac and cheese. The negative: had a strawberry spinach salad and the taste was "odd". It was a large portion but not good. The poppyseed dressing (on the side) had a bug in it - it happens, I get it, but not preferable. There were 2 ladies at the front "hostess stand". They did not greet anyone or seat anyone and appeared to simply stand there talking to each other the entire time we dined. Again, seemed odd. Someone else had the chicken tenders, and they tasted homemade - not the kind from a food service vendor. I tried a friend's sweet potato fries and they were undercooked. Parents need to know the waitresses are dressed like the ones at Hooters. If we had known that, our party would have gone elsewhere. One of the waitresses was very pleasant. A few of the others were somewhat rude. Not sure how often they have live music, but it is very, very, very loud. This isn't a place for conversation especially with a larger group on live music night. It isn't a place for kids when there's live music either. So with that being said I shoulda gave them 3*...but Brooke White was singing live and so 4* is legit. Solid little Texas styled sports bar. Service was awesome. Stopped to watch a game but they didn't get the big10 channel but had free WiFi so I was able to watch my game on my phone. Well worth the inconvenience. Great live band playing. Great options for beers on draft, (I had the cream stout, very smooth). The burger w egg was a good choice if your looking for something heavy. Good old fashioned honky-think, nothing fancy but great burgers, bbq and wings, cold beer, cocktails, live music in the evenings and plenty of screens for your sports viewing pleasure. The staff is friendly, competent and helpful, my only reason it isn't 5/5 stars is it's popularity, it can be a bit crowded on game days and when local bands are performing. We're in town for the Arkansas State Youth Bowling tournament. 14 of us, ages 6 - over 60 years of age came in this evening. With a little bit of advance notice they easily had all of us together and eating at the same time too! Food was great -something for everyone in our group. Great food and an excellent atmosphere. I had the Cuban sandwich. Pulled pork, ham, Swiss cheese, mustard and pickle on a hoagie roll. I love a good Cuban sandwich and this place hits the mark. The deep fried mushrooms are perfectly done as well as the fried banana peppers, which I highly suggest! I have heard a lot of hype about JJ's since it opened last year. The parking seems to stay full and I just assumed the food was as good as people say it is. I finally had a chance to go early Saturday evening, around 5:00pm. And I have to say this is another case where the quality of the food just did not live up to the hype. Atmosphere: Your typical sports bar-type environment. Seating was comfortable. Noise-level was kinda loud and they were maybe 2/3 full. Food: I ordered the BIG BAD JACK BURGER, which their menus says has: "double patty w/ chipotle creme cheese, bacon, sweet n' spicy green pepper jelly". I asked my waitress twice if they cooked burgers to order and she said yes, so I requested medium rare; the burger came cooked medium-well. Also, I am convinced the burgers were made from frozen patties. You would think by looking at the ingredients the burger would have some spicy heat to it and it did not. The chipotle *cream cheese was a thin schmear on the top bun and the pepper jelly was a thin layer of pepper jelly bought from the grocery store and not made in-house. A very underwhelming burger. I did try some of the spinach dip, which was pretty decent. I ordered a slice of cheese cake, which plainly came out of a box with some syrup poured on top. Service: The service was just okay. The waitresses seemed a little too busy chatting it up with guys sitting at the bar to pay much attention to their customers and she came off as being rather disinterested and terse whenever she was at our table. This was a very underwhelming experience. I might give it another try, though I definitely will steer clear of the burgers. If you're looking for a place to unwind over a drink or catch a game, then this might be a good option for you, but I wouldn't recommend going for the food. read more

We were seated quickly and given drinks. It took a bit to get menus brought to us. We ordered the cheese fries as an appetizer and it was huge and tasty. My husband had the chipotle chicken wrap. He said it was delicious and huge. He could only eat half. I had the friend catfish basket. Fish was fresh and friend perfectly. After we finished, it took a while to locate our waitress. I was very disappointed here. The food was outrageously expensive for what you got, and they even charged nearly .75 cents per side sauce, such as ketchup.
