I love seeing the little ones so excited to show mom or dad or a family member the new dance routine/move they learned. They're so eager to participate. And of course I must mention the OH SO CUTENESS of the dance outfit/uniform #cutenessoverload One hour on a Saturday, classes meet & the folks that run the studio work this thing like a well oiled machine. The gentlemen, I didn't get names, is ALWAYS smiling and gives gentle hugs to the little ones & points them in the direction of the studio. The dance instructors are also patient & kind. There's a viewing window for parents & occasionally, the parents, get to participate as well. How cool. Ample parking. The studio workers, once again, sorry I don't have names, are timely & this is essential because as one class ends, another begins.

Relax, center and learn to pull clay…read more My mother-daughter pottery class was so much fun...and a bit challenging. Stepped out of my comfort zone to try something new on a Thursday night. Jennifer Waller is such a patient instructor. The beginning wheel-throwing pottery course teaches the basic skills of centering, opening, pulling walls, trimming and preparing your piece for the bisque (first) firing. She also covers the basics of glazing your piece for finishing. You can keep practicing and building in continuing classes. Clay, glaze and firing fees are included with the lessons. It was so much fun to learn how to mold the clay into a cup, a saucer and a small bowl. Amazing to be able to transform the clay into a tangible project. My daughter made a waffle tic-tac-toe board complete with blueberries and butter. So cute! Since I was just in New Orleans for a few days, I picked out my glaze colors and my daughter completed my projects. The studio is so cute and welcoming. I would highly recommend Jennifer's classes and would definitely go back on a future visit.

It's been almost two hours and I'm still all aflutter over the sewing class I took at Sew Fabulous…read more The class and instructor were SEW AWESOME! Heather was fun and super knowledgeable and has such a great attitude. She makes everyone feel so comfortable, like we're all old friends. I blew right through all my childhood sewing machine issues and am proud to say I am now fairly adept at threading the bobbin and machine, a task that reduced me to hysterical tears when I was 12 when I promised the lady I babysat for to sew a bunch of padded frames for her business; she gave me her sewing machine but there were no instructions and no Internet. I slowly devolved into an angst-based shame spiral that consumed my every waking thought before tearfully admitting defeat months later. This was seriously the most fun I have had in a long time. Everything about it--the cheerful open space, Heather's teaching style (awesome), the fun little project to get our feet wet--was perfect. It's taking everything in me not to call in sick tomorrow and stay home and sew! Take these classes! You'll love them.

When I was 10, I used my mother's sewing machine without permission. The resulting tangle took her…read morenearly 5 months to fix. I was henceforth banned from touching the machine, and my impressionable little self took that to heart. I do not use sewing machines because I still believe--20 years later--in my deadly touch. For Christmas in 2014, I asked for a sewing lesson with Heather. We'd met at a street festival when she was manning a booth with her beautiful hand-sewn products, and she told me all about her classes. The prices are reasonable for a group class, and I thought this would be a good start to move from being banned from touching a sewing machine to actually using one. A family member gave me a gift certificate for Sew Fabulous, and off we went! I called ahead and told Heather about the sewing machine I'd be bringing to class. She asked a few questions about the model and assured me that she could teach me to use that one. The class was fun, but I personally had some issues. Despite assuring me that she could teach me to use the machine I brought, Heather actually couldn't. She had no idea how to make basic things go on this machine. If she'd told me that she had no idea, I would have done the class on one of her demo machines instead of hauling a sewing machine across town. Instead, I spent most of the class trying to trouble-shoot things myself and just being frustrated. I don't feel like I learned a lot from this class because of the struggles with the machine. Were I to do it again, I'd use one of her demo machines until I felt like I had the skills to make things go on any machine. But I would take more classes with Heather, if that says anything. (The machine I brought is a particular type of Pfaff that's modern but intended to be very manual. It's not one of the heavily computerized models that most sewers favor these days. This one is adjustable to the max, but adjustments require knowledge of the proper settings for each knob. In other words, it's a very particular machine. But as I type this, I am sitting in a room with both the sewing machine and multiple items that were sewn on that machine including some lovely curtains and a duvet cover. So. It does work.) Accessibility notes: several steps up into shop. No lift or ramp. No Braille signage.

Used them as we needed an FFL holder. Won't ever again…read more Mistakenly used my husbands name in the shipping address as it just automatically entered it from the billing address on a 3rd party site. (My mistake) So it needed to be shipped back to the 3rd party so the shipping name could be changed by the 3rd party. The 3rd party sent performance shooters the return label and they held on to my merchandise for 2 weeks. Had to call the 3rd party to contact performance shooters. They also took 1 out of the 2 clips, the lock, and extras from my merchandise (this was confirmed by the 3rd party when performance shooters returned it to them). Called and emailed performance shooters within those 2 weeks they were holding my merchandise trying to get them to return it and never got responses, only that Joe was out of office or couldn't take my call. Yes, my mistake that I had incorrectly entered the information on the 3rd party website. But Performance Shooters was unethical in tampering with the merchandise, taking pieces from the merchandise, and keeping merchandise which was not theirs when a return label was emailed to them by the 3rd party the day after we found out about the shipping error. We had our transfer done by another FFL holder in Metairie which we should have used in the first place (the 3rd party website didn't have our preferred FFL's information). So rather than return merchandise that was not theirs and lose $40 (FFL transfers usually cost around $40), they stole pieces of merchandise and held onto it longer than needed to be. Only returned it after weeks of calling and emailing and getting other people involved. Would never recommend.
