My original plan was to have some brisket (woefully largely missing from the local Memphis scene) but when the proprietor offered the option of a brisket and rib combo, I jumped on it. Here's the deal: this guy knows what he's doing smoking meats. The ribs were as good as my Memphis favorites at Cozy Corner and I've never said that about ribs anywhere in Memphis or elsewhere. The brisket a perfect 10 - perfectly seasoned, beautiful smoke ring and juicy without being fatty. On this particular occasion I enjoyed dinner with a friend I was visiting. It was on a Saturday evening. We were greeted with smiles and felt welcomed as always. We were promptly seated at a table for two. The restaurant quickly filled with customers creating a lively atmosphere. We shared a couple of sushi plates while enjoying wine & Bobo Tea.
