Went in Thursday for steak night. Friend told me about it so I thought I try it out. Can't beat a $15 steak dinner. Dinner came with loaded baked potato and a salad. Everything was great. We found this place on Yelp while visiting my In-Laws and were blown away by how perfect it was for us. A live band, comfortable patio chairs, a fire pit, 60+ beers on tap, and Extremely nice and proficient bartenders made made for the perfect chill night out for us. My husband is sober and is sometimes shy ordering N/A beverages. However, he didn't have to sweat it because, while discussing drink options with him, the bartender told us he doesn't drink and makes excellent mocktails-which he does! The beers he recommended for me were great as well! HORRIBLE customer service! I went here on a Saturday night and was sitting at a table for 30minutes and didnt get any service. (Mind you it was near closing time so most people had already left) So i said ok maybe if i sit at the bar somebody will take my order right? NOPE i was sitting at the bar for another 10min without getting asked what i want so i had to scream excuse me to get anyones attention. I had ordered one margarita which was so watered down im not sure if there was even half a shot of alcohol in it. They do have a live band playing but I noticed how smokey the place and I decided to leave. Nice neighborhood Bar. Parking is very limited & somewhat awkward went you enter from Louetta. We were in the area after an event nearby and wanted a night cap so we dropped in. My husband was pleasantly surprised that he could smoke his Cigars inside, but they have a nice Patio out front as well. Majority of people were smoking cigarettes which smell different than Cigars to me. Either way if you are not cool with smoke, this bar might not work for you. They have plenty of activities such as pool & darts. The service was OK. Drinks were solid & they had a nice selection. The music they play swings very wide, which was kind of distracting to me. However, that is just a matter of personal taste. Nice option in the Suburbs as I don't think there are many bars open this late in this area of town. read more

Was pleasantly surprised with Jive Bar & Lounge. It is a small bar but has a good variety of drink options at reasonable prices. There is mainly bar-side seating but there are a few tables around the room. On the night I visited, there was a poker game in full swing that was open to all patrons. There were also two pool tables in the back as well as some other gaming tables to entertain the customers. The location allows customers to smoke indoors, so if you have issues with cigarette/cigar smoke, this might not be the place for you. Definitely a great place to relax and catch up with friends or just grab a drink by yourself while listening to the music from the very modern juke box in the middle of the bar. I was glad to see that they weren't just playing one genre of music, as is often the case in a lot of establishments. The music was a good mix of rock and roll, hip hop, country and top 40s. Ok so my friends from Klam Entertainment (shout out to Keith and Lori who run the karaoke show) an my best friend Harry got me coming to this place. I fell in love with it pretty quickly. The staff here are amazing and they treat you like family. I learned pretty quickly why they have so many regulars. Heather is the owner and she is a total rockstar! Super sweet and brings a good time with her whenever she's there. Danny the bartender is like the best friend you wish you had. He's super cool and great under pressure cuz it can get pretty busy. Emily the bartender is so sweet! She talks to you like you've known each other for years. Glen the bartender is awesome! You can always count on him to greet you with a smile when he sees you. Joseph the barback is great! Super nice and good at his job! I think there are others that I haven't met yet because they leave before I get there in the evenings but I'm sure they're awesome :) If you're looking for a place to hang out with friends after work or whatever then this is the place! read more

This is one of my favorite local places to grab a drink and chill. Great ambience. Low lighting for the right "feel". Some nights they have live open mic music. Other nights open mic comedy. Two MAJOR highlights are the awesome craft beer selection and the whiskey selection!!!!! The kitchen is decent. With the exception of their pizza everything is fried. So heads up on that. A few years ago I would of gave a different review for this place but the past 3 1/2 years it has gone down. The place had the potential to be something amazing with the right attitude running it. Yes they have a lot of craft beers but you come to the bar to unwind and relax....not for drama. And let's face it there are a lot of bars now with craft beers in the area. The building is unique on the outside. The bar is one of the bars around that are animal friendly. I prefer Lucky Dogs myself as the animals are not allowed inside the actual bar and your not going to have to worry about dog hair in your food or drinks. They need more smoke heaters for the smoke but if you like cigars this is the place you can go to light one up. Their patio is average. Their drinks are on the high side. In my personal opinion Lone Star Icehouse has a great selection of shots all different prices from $3 and up and free pool every day 7 days a week. One of the owners of Jive (Heather) is a drunk! She has ran off more than 2 dozen plus of the regulars and some extraordinary bartenders with her alcoholic behavior. A few years back she lost 2 bartenders when there were gun shots. Yes the gun shots were real!!! If you ask around a handful of us people know the truth. She recently lost another good bartender due to lack of respect. But guess you have to respect yourself before you can respect others. I am sure this review will have a ton of good reviews after as the owners give out free drinks for good reviews in response to bad ones that tell the truth. read more

Went here the other night with my bf and a couple friends. The place had a warm and cozy feel. The bartender was so sweet and really helpful. She gave us some new drinks to try (samples at first) and suggested us a snack. The beer battered fries were so good and we loved that we got the try something new. I generally like this place since the decor is pretty nice and the music is decent but last night I went in and the bar tender was a complete dick. He was impossible to get a hold of (he even had some kid helping him) and very rude to my friends. I have had better service here from other bar tenders but last night was just a shit show. My friend walked off with a receipt that he wasn't supposed to keep (he was drunk) when the bartender came and tried to get it from him he was disrespectful about it and snatched it out of his hand. Karaoke on Saturdays and Mondays, A pretty awesome DJ on Wednesdays, Comedy on Tuesdays, Open Mic on Thursdays, and great local talent on Fridays. The owners are very friendly and make you feel welcomed. It caters to all age groups, there is something for everybody. Check this place out if you haven't yet. Really this place deserves an honest 5 stars. Went here tonight for the first time. Liked the bar and the service we got from Glen. Sat at a table not at the bar, still got quick service. Played ping pong (free), darts ($1 a game), and pool ($1 a game). The games were fun and easy to play/join in with other people. Sang karaoke, one song that is. Tried to put in more songs but the "karaoke dj" seamed to have his favorites. Was there from 10:30pm till 1am and only got to sing one song. According to Keith there were "too many songs infront of me". 2 and 1/2 hours of songs by 11pm? Interesting seeing as how the bar was half empty. I've lived down the road for over a year and just finally stopped in this week (twice!). The only con I saw was the parking since its limited. Their beer selection is incredible as well as the scotch menu. The beer prices are honestly the best around (I was mentally comparing some prices to Mo's Irish Pub and Jive was consistently at least $2 cheaper on each beer). I tried the French fries and they were excellent. I've heard about poor management issues in the past that kept me away, but I honestly didn't see anything wrong while I was there. My husband and I popped in one Saturday evening after 10pm for a couple of beers. This spot is 10minutes from our house and I just wanted to checkout some local joints in the area. This was perfect! No dressing up required! Throw on some jeans and drop in for a great selection of beer and whiskey. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. There was some karaoke going on on a small stage and it was fun to watch. The talent was not intimidating by any means but, they weren't that awful either. I signed my husband up for a number and in less than an hour he was on stage and destined for stardom! We played some pool ($1 per game) met some nice folks, had a few laughs and went on home. I recommend this place for a laid back evening out. I gave it 4 stars because I've only been there one time and I can't vouch for consistency of service but, I certainly wouldn't mind going back again. I like this place in general love the ping pong my boyfriend an I go in solely for the ping pong tables. I just strongly dislike their drinks. It could possibly be because of the sour the use I don't know if it's made in house but my drink of choice is an amaretto sour and the sour was just so overwhelmingly sweet that the entire drink was just horrible. I think they may be putting orange into the sour, that's the only problem. It's just too bad I've started only drinking sodas because I know I won't enjoy my drink. read more
