We rented 2 Jitneys for a wedding Welcome Party to transport our guests from Icona Diamond Beach to Reeds in Stone Harbor. The Jitneys were to run in a continuous loop during the time period we rented them. We experienced a number of issues:
(1) I rode on the first Jitney leaving Diamond Beach. When I entered the Jitney, I asked the driver if the AC was on, and he said yes. After a few minutes when the guests were profusely sweating, I contacted the leader and told him there was a problem on the Jitney with the AC. He told me that it was hot outside and take time to cool down, even though the Jitbey sat there waiting for us for 20 minutes beforehand. As we continued our journey, my guests continued to sweat with it dripping g off peoples hands and arms it was so hot. The Jitney never cooled down, and I alerted them again that they needed to bring a different Jitney, but I received no response.
(2) On the way back at the end of the evening, the same Jitney still was not cool, and its lights flickered from Stone Harbor to North Wildwood where finally the Jitney broke down on the street. My guests had to wait board while the police pushed the Jitney off to the side. Finally after about 30 minutes the second Jitney returned to pick up the stranded guests, most of whom had to order their own Ubers to get home.
I can say I was extremely embarrassed for my guests to come into the event dripping from sweat because of the lack of AC on Jitney, but for them to have to get their own transportation back to Diamond Beach was a topper.
I can say the second Jitney we rented was cool from the start and did not experience the AC issue the first one did. So, I can safely say it was not the outside temperature causing the issue.
