A lot of the snacks I used to munch on during the summer vacations in the Philippines of my very distant youth are here, and the prices surprisingly don't cause my wallet to collapse. Love that I have a small filipino food Mart super close to me. My parents have been coming here for years and normally if I need something then I just tell my parents. In turn they go buy it for me and bring it to me...spoiled I know, but it doesn't happen often! Being pregnant I really wanted chicken siopao and ube ice cream. So off I went to obtain these items that I "needed" haha. Once you walk in go all the way to the back where you see 3-4 white refrigerators. The one on the right has all my magical items. The prices are great! I drove all the way from the Galleria just to do my groceries so that should tell you the reason behind me stocking up confession time: this is my aunt & uncle's store ( my uncle is Tito Jing) and to the Yelper who said he never smiles, he's just military but he does! this is a mom & pop store, but the prices are incredible. I compared it to the other grocery store close by to the Medical Center and honestly, the prices are better here for price comparison. Also for me I pay extra for convenience, time is money honey and that's saying a lot because I live literally next to H‑E‑B but they don't have the authentic Filipino spices I actually need! I'm also doing a potluck for work and hosting a GALENTINE'S girls night so I had to stick up on food. $400-500 worth of groceries but these are worth every penny! Plus they had my favorite snack- sweet corn. It's like Cheetos puffs but instead of cheese flavored they are sweet corn flavored! I saw they have cheese and ube (taro) ice cream too and I'll be back when I want to make Halo-Halo again read more

I've been coming to this store for years. The owner has never been rude to me like the others on here say. Not sure of any place in town that carries so much variety of Philippine goods. The mangoes that he carries are the sweetest. Out of town guests always ravage them at our house. Though his store is small, it is jampacked with all kinds of goodies from back home. read more

With regards to the selection and variety of Filipino items, this is a convenient place to go to. Hence, the 2 stars (I'm being generous here). BUT when it comes to the attitude of the owner, well... All I can say is don't stay in there too long. Grab all your stuff, pay, and dash out the door as fast as you can. I've been going here occasionally the past few years - not because I like going but because this is the only place close to home that carries most of what I need. I buy most of my stuff at HongKong market but it's a ways away from me. I sure hope another Filipino store opens up in this area and I'm pretty sure this guy will lose business. He's probably acting the way he is because he knows he has no competition. And customers will just have to suck up to his attitude. I dread going in and seeing him. Agh!!! This guy needs an attitude overhaul!! And if he ever reads this, I hope he makes some changes on how he welcomes customers (smile some dude)! I must say my first visit at Jingos' was more than what I was expecting. For a little shop I felt as if the whole Philippians was at my disposal. But more importantly, the girl at the counter is absolutely amazing.Not only did she welcome me with a warm smile but she provided the most helpful customer service anyone could ask for. To add to that, she is just darn right gorgeous. However, she did steal from me when I left the store. Till this day I have yet to return and retrieve my stolen heart from Jingos. read more

Everything that David T. said. What it boils down to is that this is the typical grocery store a Filipino person would run here. Stocked to the brim in a limited amount of space. Kind of like the country. I occasionally wander in for [hmm processed!] snacks when I have a craving, but I usually leave the hardcore shopping to mother who prefers things that remind her of home such as a very odd canned 'pasteurized cheese product' (don't ask, it even scares me) and the infamous stinky dried fish (bangus). Very small, dim and crowded, even for a small Asian grocery. Lot of Filipino items. Balikbayan boxes. No fresh produce. I did find some interesting and unusual kinds of sardines; most were heavily sugared but I found some that were unsugared and spicy. Tucked away in a small strip mall which is nicely landscaped and which has a lot of trees. So it's easy to find shaded parking. read more

Though the selection is fairly well, I don't come here anymore due to the owner's attitude and demeanor. There's been several instances where I have asked him about a product and he proceeds to answer reluctantly, clearly very annoyed and bothered that I am even asking him a question. Politeness is lost on this man. His employees clearly take after their boss. They are rude and make snide comments about the people in the store as if we don't understand the language. Just moved to the city and found a great Filipino store to pick up all the things I need to make all my homeland dishes. They have everything that a Filipino would like such as mixes for soups, chips for the kids and even bakery items. A pretty good frozen section, even have silly leaves. Not big but if you're looking for that one item from PI you desire it's probably there. Space is a factor but Jingo does a great job covering most everything you could be looking for without a full produce in the Webster/Clear Lake area. Definitely a recommend. read more

I love Jingo's..you have to get the fresh produce when he stocks it.he has everything I need ..been a loyal customer for a long time..He is the only one who sells the Lumpia wrappers that are individually separated with parchment paper..makes it easier to separate with out wasting the wrappers.. read more
