We used Jim's Handyman Services for a couple of small jobs, and were so impressed with the quality of workmanship and reasonable prices, we decided to have them do all of the renovations on our home. Each job came in at a lower bid and was done in a timely and professional manner. His work crews, including Aron, Jason, Fred, Ryan and Paul, were trustworthy, hard working people who went out of their way to do great work, even offering advice on ways to save on expenses for each project. They do it all, from the smallest to the biggest jobs and we are so glad we chose this company! You get what you pay for. I watched them on my ring camera walking in and out smoking and talking all day. The. One guy would leave and another one would come back. I didn't really care cause it was a bid. Jim might be a great handyman, but his employees are not. I got tired of pointing stuff out and decided I'd take care of the rest. My husband and I hired Jim's Handyman Service to put in a new bedroom door. A gentleman arrived at the scheduled time and told us that we would need a new door frame in order to install the door. We were quoted $200.00 for labor and we provided the door. We set up an appointment to have our door installed and a few days later I called to ask for a written quote. We were told on the phone that the gentleman coming for the appointment would provide a written quote. On the day of the appointment two different men showed up and said the original guy was unavailable. The two men looked at the frame and stated that a new frame was not needed. I asked why we were told a new frame was needed and the gentleman stated "because the other guy doesn't know what he is doing". After the door was installed I looked and found that there a HUGE hole in the door. I asked why there was a huge hole in the door and he stated he didn't know and just figured I knew about it and that is why he chose to flip the door and have the hole facing inside the bedroom instead of the living room. I was told the price was $200.00. I stated my confusion, as we now have a hole in the door and the SAME frame as before. The gentleman said he couldn't provide us with a new quote and he was told to charge $200.00. He stated that he would take my concern to Jim and that Jim would give us a call back. This company was working on my neighbors house yesterday. The gentleman who was doing the work threw branches that he cut down into a mutual neighbors property and mine. He blew leaves into three neighbors properties as well as sprayed gutter debris onto my property and on me. I have never had anyone spray gutter debris onto me before!!! When I spoke with the worker, he acknowledged me and continued doing what he was doing. If you are considering the use of this company, I encourage you to consider your neighbors. Just because your property is going to look good, shouldn't you consider what your neighbors yards will look like? read more

I sent an inquiry through Yelp. Jim responded and told me to contact Fred his "go to guy" for estimates. I did just that. Talked to Fred. Made an appointment for approximately 5 days later at High Noon. Well, he was a no show, no call guy. So not a "go to guy" at all. Sad. read more

He was referred to me by a family member, and I trusted him. He said he could do the job for set price. He did a fantastic job on the 1st job he was hired for, the bathroom remodel was right on the money! Not a penny more. So I hired him a 2nd time to replace Windows, paint inside of house, and refinish hardwood floors, he said job was going to cost $4700, including labor and materials. It ended up being $5400, the windows were too big and needed extra labor to cut openings larger, only painted 500sqft of inside of house, only painted 1 coat, didn't paint inside of closets or bathrooms, I had to move all the furniture and remove things off the wall, I'm an elderly lady and this wasn't part of the agreement, then he said it was going to cost more for labor to move the items, and then I asked about the wood floors, he said he didn't have enough money to do my floors!!! Paint was on the lightbulbs, paint was dripped on my hardwood floors, he said don't worry about the paint on the floors because they were going to be refinished. I paid him to do this job, and he demanded cash, had to meet up at my bank, and it's still not done and it's been a year!! I'm so damned mad! Never again will I hire him to do anything. I don't think he's even qualified to cut grass!! read more

I needed a door hung that had none of the places drilled for the handle or hinges. Jim's Handyman Service came out, hung the door and charged a very reasonable price. This was all done while being very friendly and courteous. I will be calling them when it comes time to have our fence repaired in the near future. read more

I needed a pergola roof repaired and was very impressed with the prompt and efficient response, when I rang up to ask for a quote. After no more than half and hour I got a call back from a tradesman, Alex to arrange for an inspection. Within a week the job was done to my satisfaction just like they promised. A great outcome. On his first job for me, Jim estimated and then painted the exterior of a neglected duplex. Did an outstanding job, was prompt, and was reasonably priced. Naturally I called Jim for my next job, installing light fixtures and a few misc repairs at my residence. Again, prompt and excellent service. Next up, my new cabinets will arrive in about 10 days and I'm sure that he and his work crew will handle that jobwith their usual excellent work and efficiency. A new house, and usual random issues. I bought a new faucet to replace a leaky one but before I could get it in, the disposal developed a leak on the unit, not a hose problem. I called and Quentin was out the next day and fixed it, explained what had happened to it, shared pertinent information and even replaced the faucet for us. I felt safe having him in my home, (new resident anxiety) and he was neat and gentle on the area worked on. Very reasonably priced, too. I feel secure with the work done and it has worked very well in the 2 weeks I waited to review this. I really liked this Handyman service and will use them again. read more

We used Jim's Handyman for a few projects. Jim seems to like the big projects and had his crew here on time, was conscientious etc....But even though he said he would also do the small projects, he didn't call back three different times, forgot I was scheduled and never finished several jobs he said he could do. I guess they had bigger, more lucrative projects. I contacted Jim 6 months later, he said he forgot and would have someone out to do an estimate. I never had a call back again. read more

When I called for an estimate I got an immediate response and a timely appointment with an estimator. However, it has now been 2 weeks and no one has called back with an estimate. I called after one week and was told they had medical problems and would get back to me. It has now been another week and no calls back. I'm NOT impressed. Would not recommend. read more

I am an landlord that lives out of town. I called Jim's Handyman service to fix a patio door the renter said is not working. He told me he could do the job. My renter contacted me after a couple of weeks stating no one had contacted him to fix the door. I e-mailed and called Jim's Handyman Service and got an e-mail back assuring me that he would take care of the repair. I just got another e-mail from my tenant after another couple of weeks stating no one had contacted him or come to repair the door. I live out of town and was depending on him to take care of this repair for me. He did not come through. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about Jim's Handyman Service and especially Fred, who is Jim's right hand guy. I first met Fred after 8:00 PM one evening after a washing machine installation went awry with a broken hose valve that required us to turn off our water main. Fred was the only person who came through for us that evening. Another after hours plumbing service said they'd possibly send someone out, but Fred was the only who actually responded and completed the work that late evening, allowing us to have running water again that same night. This was particularly important to us because we were preparing for other contractors coming the next day to complete work on our new home that required running water. He even finished installing our washer and dryer for us! Fred is an honest, talented, and reliable person, who genuinely cares about his customers. He and his team have shown us such dedication, competency, and integrity that I have recommended Jim's Handyman to several people. My husband and I are very grateful for discovering Jim's service and his fine employees, who have restored in us confidence in an industry of service professionals, who are not always honest, reliable, conscientious, and accountable.
