One I had done several funerals in (both their old and new location). I reached out to the owner himself (David, whom i've worked with on many occasions), someone I thought knew me and cared. His response? He passed me to a sales rep, who simply emailed me a pricing sheet. Wow. But when I contacted Lucas Funeral Home, the response could not have been more different. The receptionist, recognizing the pain I was in, reached out to the owner, Jim Lucas Sr. Still recovering from surgery, he came in person to meet with me and my son. He hugged us, he wept with us, and he -- along with Doug Jones and Melissa Robinson -- cared for my son, daughter-in-law, and precious granddaughter with dignity and compassion. That's the difference: being treated like a number versus being treated like a soul. I simply told the hospital where my husband died that Neptune was the handler- did not even have to have the card or account number at my fingertips. A Neptune Representative, Christie, called immediately, and took care of eveything. She explained the procedure and gave me an ETA on the Death Cetertificate, which of course, you can hardly do anything legal without. They took such beautiful care, so very efficiently and gracefully. Kindness and caring were the keynotes throughout.I recommend them to all, and pre-planning with Neptune was among the best choices ever.
