These guys are professionals and Jim's offers a real barber shop experience that I remember as a child. I waited maybe 20 minutes at the most to get a chair. Which is no problem seeing as I have an iPhone to entertain me. Not to mention there was plenty of friendly conversation to partake in. Al was the first to offer me a chair so I obliged. I sat down and Al wet my hair and combed it out. He then asked " What would you like?" Please note that I hadnt had a hair cut in well over a month so it was fairly unruly. I simply responded " typically the sides and back are a 5 and the top I like some length." To which Al replied "You like to comb it over to the side." My reply was "Yep, anything else I trust you fully." Within 8 minutes my hair was cut to perfection, including a straight blade cut around my ears and back off my neck. I was shocked! I wear what I consider to be a simple hair style yet strip mall type hair cutteries seem to time and time again completely screw up, not to mention taking 30+ minutes to do so. Al totally nailed my haircut despite the fact that my hair was full of gel and Lush Sea Spray, a big no no when visiting the barber.
I will leave with this, I have been living in Maryland for 9 years and have yet to be completely satisfied with a haircut. Im now a life long costumer of Jims after one visit. Im a fairly modern, fashion forward 40 year old and truely regret being to much of a snob to step into a Barbershop for the last 25 years. Al at Jims Barber Shop is my new go to barber. Im moving to Wilmington DE area soon but will gladly make the trip to Elkton every few weeks for a solid, professional haircut! read more
