We first went to Midas, where they claimed the rear brake pads and rotors both needed to be replaced. I didn't completely trust their diagnosis, so we went to Mid City Tire and Auto for a second opinion. The team at Mid City was honest and told us that while we did need new rear brake pads, there was absolutely no need to replace the rotors. We had them replace the rear brakes and got our safety inspection tag. On top of that, they actually found that one of the rear tires was completely screwed up from a previous car accident and desperately needed to be replaced--something Midas completely missed. Highly recommend Mid City for their honesty and thorough work!

We had taken our Kia Sorrento for an oil change while visiting the Albany area. It needed 6 quarts of oil to complete. We thought they probably forgot to reset the Oil Change indicator message afterwards so we reset it. Three days later, started getting dashboard messages for oil low, then today red check engine light. We did not see any visible signs of a leak but dash warnings were glaring. Looked up Yelp reviews for most reputable place and it said Central Auto service. They were closing soon but said bring it in. Sure enough, when they checked the dipstick it was dry, no oil. They removed the engine guard panel and oil began spilling out everywhere. The previous place had used the wrong size seal. I was hours away from seizing my engine. They let me take videos of the entire process so I can send back to previous service center for reimbursement. I can't thank this place enough for saving my car and my weekend as I need to travel out of state tomorrow. I highly recommend Central Auto for their honesty, transparency and help

I swipe my card and go on my way without realizing that they charged me $229. I call when I get home and explain the discrepancy. The woman responded and said "sure can you come in?" I thought it was plausible I would get the additional money back but when I get there she said "oh it's because we charge 3% on credit card payments" which is a crazy statement because I used a DEBIT card, they did more than a 3% fee and they couldn't tell me that on the phone before I wasted 30 minutes? This place is a joke, you're better off going somewhere else.
