I sent a request to have a demo'd deck removed, initially was responded to with a great quote, and a couple days where he said he could do it. after sending a bunch of texts on the first day they said they could do it I heard nothing and only finally getting a response hours after with an apology saying they'd be here the next morning, they ended up never showing up, even after I sent a bunch of texts asking if he were coming and never got 1 texT back! Oh and he is the one that said to text him. Save yourself the trouble and DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS COMPAMY! it's just a waste of your time! After my grandparents passed away my family needed to clean out some furniture and things. Jimmy's Junk was recommended to us. We called him and he was very nice. Unfortunately that's where it ended. Over the span of a week both myself and my mother spoke with this guy on a few occasions. All ending with him telling us he would call us back by a specific timeframe which he never did or asking us to call him back by a specific time and he would never answer. We called, we left messages, we emailed him. The day he had originally told us he could definitely get the job done came and went. We took our business elsewhere. I emailed several companies for price quotes to remove a couch before I moved out of my apartment. I scheduled an appointment with this place because it had the most affordable price and they could remove it within my timeframe. On the phone the guy was very nice and accommodating. However, fast forward a couple of days, and no one ever showed up for the appointment. I called but no answer. Left a voicemail and also sent an email but never received a response. I ended up having to call a different junk removal company to come out and pick up the couch before my move date. Extremely inconvenient and very unprofessional. read more

This is, by far, some of the best customer service I have ever received from a business (if not, the best). I don't usually write reviews, but this place deserves its props. Originally, I was looking for a new dresser to store my clothes in since I rented out my spare room and had no extra space in my bedroom. I had come across their ad for one on Facebook Marketplace that was very unique. I believe they restored and modified this tall dresser themselves to include a side jewelry compartment that ran the full length of the piece and an extra compartment at the top that lifted up to a mirror (securely attached) to the underside of the top with velvet padding in the area underneath for extra protection of stored items. I didn't realize just how good these prices were for the level of quality (understatement). I received prompt communication every step of the way. They weren't even technically opened, but because I showed interest in an item (just one) they opened for a few hours while they organized they're new inventory. I cannot say I've ever heard of someone doing this for just one customer! It goes to show how devoted they are to they're business, establishing customer relations in the community and maintaining a solid clientele. I ended up buying three gorgeous pieces of furniture. I bought a matching chest of drawers with the dresser and a very nice desk for my office area AND I bought a 43" Samsung 4K UHD Smart TV (looks brand new) ALL FOR $330!!! They managed to find time (late in the evening mind you) to drop off my items DAY OF. I said that I could come back with a friend later or another day and figure it out myself when the dresser was a smidge too big for my SUV, but they insisted! After a full days work of heavy lifting, driving back and forth across the state of Rhode Island and hauling other pieces of furniture, everyone remained polite and personable through the move. I felt very comfortable with the three guys that came to my THIRD FLOOR APARTMENT to deliver the beautiful furniture I bought. They also put each piece in the exact location I wanted (at first I had said it's fine to leave it anywhere, because at this point, I was floored for all they were doing for me). The cherry on top of the cake was this: one of them found a pair of very beautiful, very expensive chrystal earrings one of my neighbors had dropped in the hallway- and asked if they were mine. They were not, but he gave them to me to find which neighbor had lost them and return back to them... outstanding. Being the kind of business they are, anyone would have taken them to sell to someone and make a decent profit. I will ABSOLUTELY be back to Jimmy's Junk and it will be the only place I recommend for quality discount furniture/home decor shopping (or just a place to go to look at stuff) I say furniture/home decor, but it's impossible to describe exactly what they sell because this place literally has EVERYTHING! The "junk" that they sell is not necessarily junk (although I do love the name) they take other peoples stuff-restore it if need be, and provide new homes for these quality items amongst these COVID times, I find businesses, large to small, have been providing awful services to screw the customer(s) out of their money. They did a good job removing my sleeper sofa. They were in and out of my apartment in about 5 minutes. Jimmy's Junk offered me the lowest quote for the service ($100). However, they arrived almost an hour and half late and didn't call to let me know. I had to call and asked when they will be arriving. read more

I sold my home and arranged with Jimmy to pickup the remaining large ticket items that I was not going to take with me (couches, beds etc) at a certain date and time. I confirmed 2 days before and waited all day for him to show up. I called multiple times with no return call. Since I needed to leave my home (SOLD) that day I was forced to call another junk removal company who came all the way from Johnston within an hour and 10 minutes. They saved me. Jimmy failed miserably. I called him multiple times after that just to understand why he did not show up so I could get his side so as not to have to write this review. He has yet to return a call. I would be interested to see him respond to this when he does not have direct contact with a client. read more

I highly recommend Jimmy's Junk. I live in NC and had to handle the cleaning of the remaining items in my parents' house and yard after they moved. Jimmy was very professional and polite. I had sent him pictures of the stuff that I had received from someone onsite, and he gave me a reasonable quote, He fairly asked for half up front, and half to be paid after the job, and after he sent me pictures and I approved of his work. When he went to do the job, he found that there was quite a bit more junk underneath the stuff in the pictures I had sent, and it took him longer than expected. He was very nice about it, did not get upset, and he stood by his quote, asking only for a reasonable additional amount to cover the dump fees. He made a difficult long distance project easy. Scheduled a job in advance (I had used the service once before. They didn't show up at the scheduled time. I contacted the owner, Jimmy, who said that he'd call his crew to see where they were at. I called Jimmy for a status three times in the following 5 hours but it went to voice mail. I left three different voice messages, asking for a status. They never showed up for the job and Jimmy did not return my call until the next day, which completely screwed up my move. I had to scramble to find other people to do the job. I understand that sometimes rescheduling is needed. I do not, however, understand why Jimmy didn't provide the professional courtesy of a return phone call. I scheduled this job well in advance and was completely screwed on the day of the job. Never ever again would I hire Jimmy's Junk. read more
