We called Junk King on a Monday morning and scheduled a pick up for that afternoon. I rearranged my calendar to be home, then about 2 hours before the agreed upon appointment time I got a call that the truck was tied up for longer than anticipated. We rescheduled for Tuesday at lunch time. Before 10am I got a call that they could come right over - but I was tied up until 11. At 11 on the dot, the truck pulled up in front of my house. Joe and the other person on his team were both polite, responsive, and extremely helpful. The item being removed had some trash around it, and they even graciously carted that away from me. They claim that they will "beat any written estimate" which is not true. I was shopping for junk removal from multiple companies including junk king. The man who came to look at the junk was very nice and told me I would get the quote the same day and so did the woman on the phone who I made the appointment with. However I had to call them three times just to even get the quote, which ended up taking multiple days. Then the quote ended up being the highest of four by far! Even the second highest quote was half the price as junk king. They were not even close to affordable. Obviously I will be going with the lowest quote, which is four times less than junk king. Just make sure you shop around first and don't get scammed! I even sent them a copy of my lowest quote because they asked me for it. They denied to beat the quote like they claim to do. read more

This is the third time that I have used Junk King. I was very satisfied the first 2 times. Today they came with a truck that was already half full. I showed them everything that they needed to take. When they were finished they charged me for a full truck, even though the truck was half full before my junk went in it. They dropped numerous things on the way to the truck & didn't bother to pick it up. The first thing I showed them when they arrived was a large patio umbrella. They tried to leave without taking that. Luckily I caught them before they left. This will be the last time I use them. They were sloppy, and overcharged me. To put it into perspective, the minimum fee for me to take wood scraps from a home renovation project, would run me 75.00. I also would have had to rent a truck from Home Depot which would cost an 20.00 for 75 min. That means that I would have finished this job in under an hour. HORRIBLE Customer Service w/ the 800# and the Manager, Mr. Martinez, but GREAT guys that came out and took everything... Everything they mentioned over the phone is NOT guaranteed and NOTHING is stated a la carte... In the beginning of May, 2023 - I called Junk King 800# and stated the following and I even repeated several times to the CS scheduler to be sure. - Requested Saturday, May 27 at 2pm - it's also Memorial Day weekend. - Needs a full clean out - 3 Floors. Full Basement, 1st floor and 3 Bedrooms. - 3-Full Couches, 3-Full bedroom Sets w/ Mattresses, 2-Dining Sets w/ Chairs, a Fridge, a Washer. Everything was yes - we can do it - not a problem... The cost for everything is $800 for a full truck... And I repeated myself again 1-truck, Saturday @ 2pm - Memorial Day weekend, $800... YEP YEP YEP - it's not going to be less and they'll be done in 2-hours from 2pm-4pm... OK... Thursday - 2days before - Junk King sent a confirmation stating the address and from 2pm-4pm. Great as I will be working until 1:30pm. Saturday, 05/27 - my brother calls and texts me at 10am stating that Junk King is there and it's a small truck... I call the 800# and spoke with Rueben in Customer Service - very unhelpful. Kept repeating that it's a holiday weekend and they pushed the schedule up to accommodate the long weekend. They only have 1-standard truck to haul in Massachusetts. That's great but no one contacted me and told me this when I called to scheduled. So I asked for the manager which I had to call as Reuben could not transfer. He was not helpful and telling me that he was going to hang up on me as he kept stating repeating the same thing over... He was NO help at all... Reminder I was at work and now very aggravated. So I called Mr. Martinez and he said the same thing and that there was only 1 truck size. If wanted the guys to come out again on Tuesday - they can finish the job then but it'll be an additional cost... He stated that it would be $50 a truckload on Tuesday (which at this point I should've smarten up and JUNK KING is a CROOK and LIES about everything) - WRONG!!!... So my brother paid for Saturday $800 for the truckload... TUESDAY, 05/30 - I had to take a day off to accommodate JUNK KING since they COULDN'T accommodate me, the customer... They, same guys, arrived at 11:30am and they were done with 1 truckload and asked to be paid... The price just for Tuesday was $1800 - 3-mattresses x $100 each = $300, a fridge, a washer plus 2 trucks... This is the whammy - $100 discount and not the $50 per truck that was told to me... The Junk guys that came out were awesome but everyone else is HORRIBLE. DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY OVER THE PHONE - THEY DO NOT GUARANTEE. read more

Junk KIng helped my wife and I clear out a home we recently purchased. Larry and his crew came and looked at the amount of junk and old furniture in the house and gave us a quote. We agreed and the guys got to work. Within an hour they had half of the house cleared out. Do to the amount of items to be removed they had to come back the next day ( in the rain, snow and sleet) to clear the rest. To my surprise they showed up with two more trucks ( we were quoted for two trucks total) and in a few hours had the remaining junk cleared out at no added cost. These guys came to my house this morning and they were incredible! My husband and I own a few rental properties and it is HARD to come by people who take pride in their work! These guys picked up the pile of junk (old tile and random basement stuff) and swept up the driveway. After sweeping, they took out a blower and really cleaned things up and even on areas of the driveway that were nowhere near the junk pile! They were kind, friendly and very personable! Called to inquire about their service. Told them I needed to have dry wall and boards etc from a finished basement demolition hauled away. An appt was set up for them to come to my home and give me a quote and if I liked the quote they would haul away today. If I did not like the quote there would be no charge. Sounded like the perfect plan! Instead I received a call requesting pictures! After they received the pictures they called me with a price and I agreed to hire them. They showed up on time but not at all prepared to do the job! There were two men with gloves and masks and a 12 yd dumpster. They told me they were bringing an 18 yd but my nephew got his tape measure out and said this is a 12 yd! They carried handfuls from the basement to the dumpster in the driveway. After about 30 minutes I looked into the dumpster. They were not arranging the dumpster to maximize it's use. There were so many spaces and so much wasted space and nothing up front. I expressed concern and they said they will stack it high. I said it doesn't matter how high you stack it if you have so much wasted space below. They said usually this stuff is in bags. I said did you see bags in the picture? I never told you anything was bagged! They said "lots of pieces". Again I said you have exactly what you saw in pictures... perhaps you should have come to see in person like I was originally told! I told them I wanted them to rearrange the dumpster accordingly to fill in the spaces so I will get my monies worth. They were not willing to do that and I was not willing to accept this standard of service. They agreed to leave and not charge me for what was in the dumpster.
