I did not have a great experience with Southern Sky Painting. Bob makes it sound like they do…read more"meticulous" work, but they don't. Also added on extra charges at the end ($900), even after clarifying everything before the work was performed. Overall, work was decent, but I can't recommend based on character and price gouging at the end. They painted the entire interior and exterior of the house. I have painted professionally, and I worked along-side the crew part of the time and was able to point out many other things along the way, that probably wouldn't have been done if I wasn't there. Here is a list of issues we had: Exterior: Did not properly scrape loose paint and fill cracks (partially fixed) Missed painting a board on soffit Painted gate wrong color (did fix) Had to go back and re-roll because of lines (did fix) Overspray in a few areas Sand painted into the front door Paint drips around the house Interior: Overspray onto floors and cabinets Paint drips on floor throughout Missed entire sections of wall Did not paint ceiling in 2 closets (was on contract) Did not perform work that he verbally agreed to but didn't want to write into the contract Paint on door handles and outlets Biggest issue was add-on prices and failure to stick with their word. Then, when the job was "done" would not respond to phone calls. Except for billing, when he tried twist contract wording to justify huge add on costs. I can't work with or recommend people like that.

Install new outlets? Regrout a backsplash? Paint? Of course, the list does go on, and includes things more involved, which is why I feel very fortunate to have inherited the professional relationship that Michael had with the previous owner of my home. Using Solid Home Solutions is the perfect mix of absolute capability with honesty, integrity and fairness. Further, if there's ever the unusual circumstance that Michael can't do something himself, he knows the people to do it. A valued relationship.

The person who owns the condo is trying to save money and just wanted a temporary fix to get him through the next few months. So, those on here who know me, know what I do for a living. I am a credit manager for a door company with four branches! I personally know tons of door guys and carpenters. Some who even owe me a favor or two for not putting a lien on their jobs. I have known some of these people for years & I have been at my place of employment for close to 12 years. Here's the thing, I never mix my personal life with my business life. Could I get a new door, frames, hinges & everything else needed at a slightly discounted price? That would be a hard yes. Do I know a few carpenters & installers that wouldn't charge me for labor? Also a hard yes. I learned early on not to date contractors and I also learned not to have them in my home doing my repairs. I always try to use locally owned and operated businesses and I luckily found Solid Home Solutions right here on Yelp. Michael was great! He responded to my quote request quickly, was easy to communicate with and his rates are more than fair. My front door was repaired as much as possible for now and Michael did a wonderful job. Actually, he went above and beyond to make it work. When the job was completed, I was sent a receipt via text in addition to a well thought out text explaining what he did, pricing etc. I am happy I found Michael on Yelp. I highly recommend giving Michael a shot. I found him to be reliable, honest and helpful. What more can you ask for?

*Update Nov 4, 2024*…read more My wife and I have moved to Texas and I have still yet to hear from Jose or have this resolved. The lack of communication and repayment are further proof that this business is not to be trusted. I look forward to being able to resolve this issue. I am still owed 3250. *Update May 30, 2024* I have continued to try and reach Jose, but still no contact. Please beware of this company and their business dealings" *Update April 22, 2024* We have not heard from Jose or anyone from one touch paint to help clear this issue. They have commented here regarding getting this removed but we are still owed 3250. Beware of their lack of communication and ineffective leadership. Communicated directly with Jose numerous times to complete work that was promised to no avail. We ashamedly paid $4000 to initiate work on our home, but when the schedules were pushed week to week, we finished the work ourselves. Whenever I get him on the phone, I get an explanation about how the "person in the office" owes him a calculation of how much to return to us. Because our communication was decent, I let it slide in hopes he would be kind enough to return the funds. I have now attained legal representation to get this squared away. Please beware. Update, Feb 2 Jose communicated they would reimburse us 3250 on Jan 25, under the agreement that I take down this review but we have yet to receive payment. We have continued to message and call with no response. Will not take this down until I am reimbursed. Update Mar 20 To be transparent, we cancelled the contract after we got no reply and no help from the team after the floor demo. The two months of back and forth with Jose made us aware that we were not a priority. We are happy to pay for the work completed. We were quoted $270 for demo of the first floor and I'm accepting $3250 instead of the $3730 we should be reimbursed. Jose called me on February 23 and said he would bring a check on the 1st of March but that I had to wait a month before cashing it. I have yet to receive the post dated check and our messages have gone cold. Updating hopefully so that communication can continue and we can be properly reimbursed.

His price was very reasonable and he was able to start the next day. He showed up on time and finished the job ahead of time. We are so impressed by the work he did we will be using him for other jobs around the house. We are new to the area and it is such a relief to have found someone who is trustworthy and skilled that we know we can count on for a variety of issues that come with a new house. My experience with this company is in different stages. When I first met Hugo, he was very nice and…read moreaccomodative. However he cancelled twice for the evaluation of my project. When he initially came to evaluate my project, which was to remove and replace some wood siding of my fence and around the eves of the condo, I have new gutters that I had replaced a couple of years ago. I specifically told him that I did not want the gutters painted. The gutters are bronze in color. After I approved the price, he started on March 11, 2026. Besides the rain delaying the extensive time it took, it went well. However, Hugo did not properly supervise the project. All of the wood siding repairs, replacement and replacing the gate to my fence it went well. The issue came when the painting began. He seems to only have one painter, or that's what he lead me to believe. After a few days of his painter being on the job, when I came home from work, I immediately saw that he had painted the gutters beige. I contacted Hugo and alerted him; he enitially disputed that I did not tell him not to paint the gutters, but later recanted. When his painter came to repaint the gutters, he painted them brown, which is the color of the trim. I contacted him again and he corrected it. Shortly after that event, I had the front of my front door painged beige; he took one and a half hours to prep the door and two hours to paint the door. After he left, I saw that the overspray was on my white wall and the floor. I contacted Hugo again to let him know. I supplied him the white paint to paint the areas of overspray. Then I noticed that he painted one side of the trim bronze, so I had to contact Hugo again. This is when he becane defensive and whined about the time his (one) painter had taken to address all of the valid issues I had. Finally I contacted Hugo today, sending him pictures of the color descrepency of the two walls with the trim. Again he whined about that and he said he was done essentially with my dissatisfaction. This is why I gave Hand2Hand an unfavorable review. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for, and I would not recommend his company, considering the service, or lack there was.
