The building is pretty good sized, they basically have two rooms, one is just seating. Hawaiian vibes. Service is always friendly. I had a brief wait but my food was super fresh so I didn't mind. On my most recent visit I tried the monthly special, which was the Shaka surf and turf wrap. It was large and I had enough for two meals. I liked the tempura shrimp and the noodles. The steak had good flavor. I really like the originality of the monthly specials and tend to gravitate towards those over the regular menu but everything I've tried has been good. Maybe I don't understand what a "steak burger" is supposed to be, but some of the meat was kind of burnt to a crisp (making it hard to distinguish what was prime rib and what was steak burger) and wasn't the most enjoyable thing to eat. I also don't exactly care for shoestring fries as it's the most cumbersome way to eat fries and not the best for sampling any dipping sauce . The smoky sauce was my personal favorite. The strawberry dream cake shake definitely redeemed the meal a bit. As I have never had what they call "custard" out here, you can definitely tell the difference between custard and regular ice cream. It was much richer and more velvety in texture that was a pleasure to sip down, even on an overcast day. Since some of my criticism is based on personal preference, I'm not saying don't give it a go if you've never been here, I just don't think it's for me. Started with the Granny Smith Apple Tea and it was sooo refreshing -- I'm a fan! I'm a french toast lover and when our waitress offered the Sweet Cream Caramel Apple French Toast I hesitated because I don't love cooked apples. But she offered to make it without the apples and they were to die for! That's the kind of service that makes a difference. My husband went more traditional with the Momma's Pancakes Breakfast -- which I also had to try because those pancakes are always perfect!
