What to say about Jimmy John's? They are all the same really but that's not bad. Good food. Friendly service. The quotes are amusing.

This Jimmy John's was a favorite of ours when they first opened. The last year it has totally gone down hill! Last time I ordered my delivery was left a block away on the wrong street, the time before that it was inedible, and today I went in to replace the inedible order and credit wasn't in the system, and the order is wrong again. They offered another credit, I declined! For what it costs it should be better, save your money go to Lenny's Subway or make it yourself! read more

The buns just seem stale and rubbery to me but its right next door to work so it's quick for a short lunch.

As a person attempting to be considerate when placing a catering order, I called 8-10 times starting at about 8:50P tonight with hopes of placing an almost 300.00 order for pick up tomorrow. Unfortunately, this establishment chose not only to not answer the phone, but seems to discontinue taking calls at 9:30ish. Their hours clearly state that they are open until 10P, but obviously stop taking orders early to be able to leave on time. Jimmy John's maybe freakishly fast, but my first impression of this location is freakishly low customer service. I hope that I'm wrong. This was the biggest disappointment of the year. Have been seeing posts about how great they are...they're not. No other customers when we walked in. I explained that we had never eaten at a Jimmy Johns and then ordered. No help from the kid at the register. No explanation of options. We asked about different breads and he said it was "too late" that they were already making the sandwiches on white bread. He asked my wife if she wanted cheese and she told him she did. When we began to eat she discovered one slice of paper thin cheese which he charged us .50 cents for. I ordered a sandwich that had ham and bacon. I asked for extra meat that was listed at $1.50. He charged me $1.50 for ham and another $1.50 for bacon. Their "music" was so tinny and loud that we couldn't talk to each other and be heard. Not one word was said about drinks after we both ordered soft drinks...we got to the dispenser and discovered there were no cups. We asked and were told to go back to the register where the cups were. Every other restaurant we visit has the character to hand you the cups after you pay for them. Not here. We could not find ANY napkins and when we asked we were told they had to hide them behind the lip of the counter for some reason. They could not be seen from the customer side. The obnoxiously rude kids working there came to where we were sitting and swept around and behind us disturbing our meal. Clanging the broom on chairs and the walls. Yet not once did a any of them ask if the meal was OK or if we needed anything. When we left several of the workers were sitting at a counter in the seating area chatting with one another. None bothered to ask if our meal was satisfactory or thank us for coming in or ask us to come back. The sandwiches were NOT good. Far too much bread. I had to remove excessive shredded lettuce from my sandwich which I did not want to begin with but was not asked. The ham was dried from exposure to room air. The edges were in fact brittle and hard. The sandwich I had was totally unremarkable. I don't expect 4 stars when I eat in a sub shop but I do expect decent service and good plain food and we got neither. It was if we were intruding or bothering these kids and all they wanted was us gone. Now this was at 3 pm on a Thursday so we weren't keeping them from closing and nobody else was eating there when we went in so they were not overworked by a rush. We will not go back there. We had considered trying another location of the same chain but at this time we will not. Service might be better but the food would probably be the same. Not worth trying. Other Sub shops might be 30 seconds slower but their Subs are worlds better. MINUS 5 stars. Never again! read more

Ordered delivery. Driver delivered to the wrong address because evidently that person is not capable of reading an address before delivering. Local manager blamed the customer, literally! Made no effort to rectify. Corporate no better. District manager also played the blame game. Was told a refund would be in order within 24 hrs. DM called back to inform that the local owner did not have to refund. So, not expecting anything on that end. Suffice it to say that until JJ's can hire staff that can read, managers that are willing to help and not blame the customer, and find DM's that can actually do their job, we will not be ordering from this establishment. Plus, they don't toast their sandwiches... GROSS!!! read more

They're wonderful! I ordered the #9 delivery and it began to storm shortly after I placed my order. So it took a really long time BUT they still delivered in a down-pour AND the sub was delicious. These people ROCK! read more

I've always really enjoyed the food here, the service has been extremely swift and friendly, and they deliver! If these guys were open 24 hours a day (and had a full bar) it would be the hottest spot in town!! (Lol) read more

Great food!! But they should really expand their delivery range. They would get much more business from me if they did.

I was employed briefly by Jimmy John's in Florence Alabama. After completing three training shifts totally 6.5 hours, I received an offer for a better paying position elsewhere. I submitted my notice and was told my paycheck would be available on May 31st, 2014. On June 6th, I went to the store to collect my paycheck. I was told by the owner that they had never received my identification, which was a false claim, and that I would not be receiving a paycheck. He offered me a cheap sandwich and a soda in exchange for the some $43.50 gross pay that I had earned. I told the owner that this was unacceptable. I mentioned that I had submitted my identification on the day of my hire, and that if I hadn't, it would have been illegal to allow me to work. Finally, after informing him that I was going to take my concern to the labor commissioner, he agreed to pay me for only 5 hours of the 6.5 hours I had worked, and that my paycheck would get there in "a few weeks." Please don't patron a business who in its introduction to our community has already broken so many of the labor laws that keep us all safe. read more

Our first Jimmy John's experience will also be our last. We actually were from out of town, but we'd been talking about trying Jimmy John's where we live, so we went while in Florence. We arrived at 3 p.m., were not offered the $1 (8-inch) sub which was from 11-3, and we were reluctant to ask for it then, so we paid full price for two 8-inch subs which should have been $1 each. When we walked in, there was a herd of staff standing in front of the counter, and to be fair, at least two greeted us (see later remarks about staff attention to us.) There may have been two other customers at that point, not more. I was not asked what kind of bread I wanted (I wanted anything that was not white bread.) By the time I asked, they already had the sandwich underway, so I got white. First, we did not see the cups (they were right there by the register where we ordered, but we were looking up at the menu and then at the person taking our order, then moved on so we didn't see them and had to ask for cups. Many restaurants will hand you a cup even though they are right there. But JJ's apparently is a big believer in self-service as shown by the rest of our experience. OK, our bad. But then we started looking for napkins. Nowhere to be seen! I found someone and asked and was told that we could just reach over the counter and get them -- but they are still not visible until you lean over the counter! Certainly they were never offered by the staff until we asked. The place was SO noisy! Music very loud, reverberating off all the hard surfaces. We sat down to eat -- the ONLY customers in the store.. While we were there, two more customers came in and got sandwiches to take out, but there were never any other seated customers. I counted NINE staff members, and there may have been more in the back. So they had time to pay attention to customers. But did they? Noooooo. We ate, got up and cleared our trash, walked right by the front counter where there were several employees standing, doing nothing but talking (to each other), and we walked out the door. Not one person spoke to us. No "Thank you!" "Come back to see us!" "Bye!" "Have a nice day!" NOTHING! Not long ago we were in Five Guys for burgers, and TWICE while we were there (about the same amount of time we spent in JJ), staff came to our table and asked how things we, if we needed anything, etc. And thanked us for coming! (And they hand you a cup, and napkins are easy to find!) Oh, and one person was mopping the floor and mopped so close to me I had to lean over. Could he not have let the foot or so of floor around me go until we left? The food: the white bread (they call it "French" but it is FAR from French bread), is so thick and dense, and the turkey and cheese I got were so thin, that I felt like I was eating only bread most of the time. Not even delicious bread, BTW but tasteless! Oh, and the cheese? I was asked at the counter if I wanted cheese -- no mention that it cost extra, and I didn't see any mention on the menu board either. Fifty cents for a paper-thin slice of cheese that I thought they'd forgotten because I couldn't taste it and had to hunt to see it! And my husband had such a heap of shredded lettuce o his sandwich that he had to rake it off. He said after that, that his sandwich tasted pretty good. I would say the ingredients of my sandwich wouldn't cost 50 cents at a retail store, so the markup would be over 1,000%. I guess they have to pay all those employees something for standing around socializing. My husband said, "Well, we 've gotten Jimmy John's out of our system." I agree. We won't be back.
