Put in an online order at 7:30am for pickup at 5:15pm the same day. Arrived at 5:35pm and my order was still not ready as they said they had a "very busy morning". When walking into the store to pick up the food I was also not greeted by any of the workers for a good couple of minutes but all of them definitely know how to stare. Would Not recommend if you need your food within the hour. We ordered online. Waited for about 10minutes once inside the store. A total of 30 minutes from when we ordered. We were told the order had been started. Waited another 20 minutes. Our order along with two other mobile orders had never been started. When we ask for a refund, the staff explained they were short staffed. I typically am respectful of that, however, only 2 of the 6 people working were actively working on orders. Half way through the experience one of the workers made their food and went on break with 20 people in the lobby. In the 30 minutes we were there only 6 sandwiches besides the workers were made. And 2 of those sandwiches were wrong. One staff member was very kind and apologized. All in all not so freaky fast. read more

We ordered about 35 boxed lunches for a large spring break trip group while on our way back home and they closed their shop ahead of our arrival to make sure all the sandwiches were made and ready when we got there. The manager called ahead to let us know they received our order and were starting. I was the only person in line. The only other people in the store were a couple eating. I ordered a slim, two little John's and a turkey tom. Ordering process went smoothly, and I was told to wait at the end for my sandwiches. In every other Jimmy John I have been in, my sandwiches are ready almost before I'm finished paying--FREAKY FAST, right? Not this Jimmy John's. There were four workers in the store. One stood at the cash register, one was making sandwiches, and I couldn't tell what the other two were doing. The one worker making sandwiches stood there and made about 14 sandwiches and putting them in a box while I stood there and waited patiently. Finally, after 8 minutes, I asked if my sandwiches would be up soon. I thought that this was odd. It's not like there was anyone ahead of me, and there was no one in the drive thru. He was terse and told me to just wait. He made a couple more sandwiches for the box, and then started to make my sandwiches. I asked if those were my sandwiches, and he very rudely said, "What about them?" I asked if they had tomatoes and lettuce, and he completely ignored me. When he was finished (it only took him two minutes to make the sandwich--which IS fast--what I would have expected from the jump), he basically threw the sandwiches on the counter. No thank you, have a nice day. Nada. Just a smug, irritated expression on his face. I felt I had been treated very poorly, so I asked the lady at the cash register for the name of the man making the sandwich, and she told me that she's new, and she doesn't know anyone's names. I asked the other person standing next to her, and he would not answer me either. Very rude indeed. I LOVE Jimmy John's, but I will NOT be frequenting this establishment again. read more

We happened to be driving through on I-70 and although this particular Jimmy John's was not our intended target we kind of just it ended up there We were about halfway through a 13-hour road trip and decided to stop the kids rather enjoy the Jimmy John's by our house so we'd thought this was a safe bet. I think they had a new kid on the register cuz he screw the order up pretty badly to the part where I had to repeat my order about 3 times. A couple of turkey sandwiches some without cheese some without tomatoes. We ordered three drinks and I kind of got annoyed because the end up charging us for 4 drinks which is fine we just took a fourth drink because for $29 for for sandwiches for drinks and a bag of chips you figure at least I would get bread there wasn't stale as hell The only way I can compare this Jimmy John's is to other Jimmy John's I've been too. To be honest lettuce is probably one of the cheapest ingredients you can put on a sandwich and for shredded lettuce I had about 12 shreds. Turkey seems a little weak I asked for pickles and cucumbers and just got cucumbers. But there was an excessive amount of mayonnaise on there which I would totally wasn't happy with. But the thing that got me was the bread was super hard and crusty on the outside to where my kids bread in one case almost crumbled into dust. We did not eat in we got our sandwiches to go and maybe that was our mistake because about a half-hour into us resuming our car trip we found out our sandwiches were garbage. I pray you see this review before you waste your time at this establishment. Staff is HORRENDOUS. They have no regard for your time, no regards to make your visit pleasant and display decent manners.. seriously just zero regard at all. I tried to call ahead and order a party platter because I'm a 40 minute drive away. I was told by the girl on the phone I couldn't do that because I had to order that 24hrs ahead and I asked if I could come in and order.. she told me I could. I said I was just trying to make their life easier by calling ahead and she laughed and told me I still had to come in, most likely thinking I wouldn't come after she had been rude over the phone. Mind you the party platter is SIX sandwiches cut into 3 segments... 24hr notice for SIX sandwiches. Just blows my mind. Fast forward, we get to the establishment, we're not greeted for a few minutes and are the ONLY people in there. I finally place my order with the manger, not saying a thing about my experience on the phone or being unpleasant to the staff in any way. After waiting for a while, because trust me they took their time.. a rude girl with facial piercings and a flannel yelled out our sandwich numbers individually and threw them on the pick up counter.. so aggressively one of them fell on the floor. I went to the front again to ask to speak to a manager. The same girl that threw the sandwiches was standing there typing something on the terminal. After a while she looked up and snarked if she could do something for me. I asked for a manager, finally the manager came over and I'm explaining my experience. The rude girl yelled from the back of the restaurant in a snarky remark she didn't mean to throw the sandwich on the floor. I said something along the lines of.. "Why do you work here if you have zero customer service skills" Anyways.. total waste of my time. Not to mention the only reason we were visiting this place in the first place was to pick up a few sandwiches to bring back to my family after a hard day as we had to put a loved family member into the ground just a few hours previous. Just goes to show that: 1: You never know what someone's going through and if you work a customer service based job it is your responsibility to make that trip pleasant and to accommodate that customer since that's what the basis of your foundation is. 2: A little kindness goes a long way and it doesn't cost you anything at all to give it. 3. If you make a mistake, own it by offering a sincere apology. Again- it costs you nothing. 4. You may not realize it but the majority of businesses are in the people business which means building and maintaining relationships.- sorry Jimmy Johns in Effingham... we are broken up. Jimmy John's is a great fresh quick meal option. They have many different sub sandwich choices with fresh deli meats. They also have tuna salad and avocado spread which I love. Their bread is baked fresh and always smells so delicious. If you are looking for fewer carbs, go with the lettuce wrap instead of bread. I'm gluten-free so that was my only option. But it actually was really good. For sides it's mainly potato chips, cookies and pickles. The service was quick and friendly. They did get my to-go order wrong and I had to go back inside. But they apologized, fixed it and offered to let me keep the other sandwich. read more

Not Freaky Fast today. We had perhaps a seven minute wait which I can't complain about. I got my usual Beach Club with hot peppers and my husband got the Big John. Both were good and up to the usual Jimmy Johns standards. I think we hit them during an unexpected rush. My only complaint was no tap water. Who doesn't offer tap water? I found that to be very disappointing. We had to get it at the gas station on the way back out to the freeway. read more

I've always had good experiences at this Jimmy John's location. One time they even gave me 4 pieces of bacon for my dog who was in the car. Went into Jimmy Johns to eat. Ordered my food without a drink. Brought in my shaker cup to fill with water at the fountain soda machine. I don't drink soda. Then got told that I can't fill up an outside container. Ok fine. Can I get a cup for water?? Yes but we will have to charge you for a drink. Umm....OK. I see how this works. Not only will I not buy the cup so I can have some water with the sandwich and chips I just bought, I doubt I will ever buy another sandwich from Jimmy Johns. I have went to many Subways and filled my shaker cup with water a few of those times without buying anything.
