We hired Willis Bailey on the recommendation of Guido roofing who was repairing our leaking garage…read moreroof/deck. Since our 28 year old redwood deck was on its last leg and had to be torn off for the roof repair, we decided to choose Apex PVC decking to match the PVC railing we already had. Two major problems came up before the job ever started and Willis solved them both. He is very good at picturing every detail of the job before he starts and we found our that PVC deck is not recommended for flat roof deck which usually require floating deck sleepers (unattached supports). It is further complicated by the roof under the deck being sloped 2 ways to a gutter, when the deck itself needs to be level and the water has to have a way to flow underneath. Willis came up with a block system that was glued to the roof instead of free floating and it solved the requirements of the new decking, the drainage etc. Every block had to be a different height and angle. It was far more time consuming than was planned in his contract, but he didn't add on for it. The other problem that arose was a leak in the garage from below our fireplace surround. We have known for years that it was leaking under our siding, but was now worse. This was the 3rd time the siding needed replacing, but the source had still not been found. It turned out that the metal chimney cover was too small and not covering the whole top. Until Willis was on the job, noone had noticed. He did a change order, had a new one made and tore open the whole chimney surround to get rid of all the rotted wood. We would also like to give a shout out to Taylor Cole, (one of Willis' employees) for his conscientious care in treating our home as if it was is own. We highly recommend Bailey Construction.

We were worried about our home being red tagged if we didn't finish it before it rained again but the owner Allen ensured me that he could get it done. Well the winter came and gone and nobody came. He kept giving me the runaround and avoiding my phone calls. A year and a half went by and finally I just wanted the money back I had given him and hire someone else. Allen then said he was going to be dropping off materials and equipment for the job and would have everything done in a week. He dropped off some equipment and a month would go by then it was the run around again until finally it was the second winter and it started to rain. Instead of building the wall I paid for he brought big cement blocks and lined them up on the side of my driveway where the side of the hill was sliding away. It was a mess! The side of the hill slid away and pushed the blocks down my driveway blocking the road and blocking my vehicles from leaving my driveway. Allen refused to help and I ended up hiring someone else to move over 30 giant cement blocks that I no use for and because the erosion had gotten so bad the county made me hire an engineer to design a wall I bearly could afford. Allen cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars and made me want two years before only making the situation worse. This is the absolute worst company there is do not hire them!!!

I had taken my own before-and-after photos, and they clearly showed benches knocked over, trash left behind, and areas that looked worse than before. The company didn't provide any proof of work themselves -- just told me it was done and expected me to believe it, even though my pictures showed otherwise. My realtor confirmed it didn't look like much had been done. In the end, I had to spend another $3,000 to hire someone else to finish the work they were supposed to do. On top of that, the owner repeatedly called and threatened to put a lien on my property instead of working with me to resolve things fairly. If you're considering this company, beware: they underdelivered, overcharged without being upfront, and left my property in worse shape than before.
