I contacted North Shore Lawn because I was having surgery in early-October and needed to have a…read moredependable company that could come to our farm each week to mow the yard, do trimming, do special landscaping jobs that I've wanted to get done for a long time, and fall clean-up during October and November. Ryan is dependable, professional, and goes above and beyond in terms of customer service. The first week, he and an assistant trimmed back overgrown trees that had grown far too tall and wide. They took about two feet off the sides and trimmed all around the trees to create more compact and beautiful trees. It is a MUCH better entry to our home and we aren't battling with overgrown vegetation as we walk up the porch steps and into our home. The second week that Ryan was here was a simple mowing of the lawn and trimming. Everything looked so nice after he was done. He even blows away the cut grass and leaves from the walkway and driveway, giving the yard a clean and orderly look. The third week, the focus was on a perennial garden that had become overgrown by the middle of the summer. There are many flowers planted in the garden, yet various grasses and weeds overtook it. The best bet - and most financially feasible - was cutting everything back as Ryan suggested. What a difference!! We have not seen this part of the yard look so trimmed and ready to be maintained in the Spring. We will be able to distinguish now between weeds and perennial flowers in the Spring and be able to stay ahead of the weeds. Next year, the garden should be colorful and filled with flowers thanks to the prep work now that Ryan did. The other major project that he did was clearing away brush and overgrown trees next to the home. Living in an old 1890 farm home, the vegetation got too close to the home and was a welcome nesting area for animals we didn't want need next to the foundation. Also, the trees had grown spindly and were not as attractive as they were when they were first planted. We made the decision to remove four larger trees/shrubs that were not doing anything to enhance the home or yard. Having all four removed dramatically changed how light and bright it is on the inside of the home!!! Having the trees removed also lets the air move more freely around the home which will reduce the green spots and streaks on the siding. We will have the siding power washed in the Spring to clean off the siding and we will transplant hostas (which are already growing under our front pine trees) in the area where the trees once were. This will fill in the area without covering the side of the home again. We are excited to have Ryan and North Shore Lawn come back during the upcoming few weeks to finish various outdoor projects; and prepare our farm for the Winter. We plan to use North Shore Lawn again in the Spring Having a dependable, hardworking, and affordable team from North Shore Lawn who wants to see the best for their customers is a business we want to get behind and support! We are so happy they are located in town so we can support local business owners!

They laid down boards to prevent damage as they drove their equipment over the grounds. They came very prepared, with a cherry picker, a clam, chipper, etc. They also cleaned very nicely. In fact, you could barely tell that a tree had come down once they were finished. In about three hours, they were finished. Steve and his crew were friendly and easy to work with. I would highly recommend them for small or large jobs. I was very impressed with what they did and how they did it.

I'm updating my review of Living Water Tree Service and bumping them up to 4 stars…read more Amazingly, the owner kept to his word and called me almost 4 weeks after my first contact with him. He had an explanation that makes sense to me. He doesn't like setting up his Saturday estimate appointments far in advance because that's the only day he can schedule a crane for large removal jobs. So sometimes the crane availability interferes with appointments. I found the owner, Walt, to be very friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the half an hour I spent talking to him. He's extremely knowledgeable about removing trees. Like some of the other companies, this outfit seems to mostly specialize in large tree removal. They're extremely expensive for more mundane things like shrub trimming. My only complaint was the eye popping quote! I was quoted $4285.00 for hand pruning the sides of 400 Hawthorne Cockspur shrubs. (These are planted a foot & a half apart, forming a continuous hedge around my entire property.) He quoted less for electric trimming. I did a little experiment and it took me 2 minutes or less to hand prune both sides of one shrub. And I'm an old slightly disabled amateur. If I hire Living Water, that works out to $5.36 per minute or $321.38 per hour for pruning. That's big money - more than a Neurologist who went to school for 12 years! I'd definitely consider Living Water for tree removal, especially if it's something tricky...like working around fences or landscaping or neighbors. You might want to hire someone else for something easier like hedge trimming. -Daddy Maxx Retro

JD is awesome and hardworking…read more JD just completed a phenomenally thorough de-thatching of our lawn followed by an equally thorough aeration treatment. For no additional charge he then re-seeded with some seed we had already selected and purchased. It was our first time working with him. He gave us a very fair price and delivered a lot of hard work. I would add he came on a Sunday because it was a convenient time for us. We discussed his other services and will probably have him back for various lawn treatments as well as consider him for snow removal. We consider JD a great find. He deserves more customers. We heard about him from several recommendations on the NextDoor app. JD told us his area of service is a 10 mile radius around his house in Roseville. That being his service area, how can someone from NY, NY be allowed to leave a one-star review that says nothing except someone was rude to her? Heck, I grew up in NY and if someone was rude to her that's actually par for the course out there. Anyway, the chances that her JD was the same as this JD working in that area is about zero. It broke my heart to see that review after how I saw him working his butt off for us today. At least it gave me a kick in the pants to write what I saw.
