Jim Hayes sold me a lemon, manipulated me into buying a car after telling me the lemon would need costly repairs, put me in a high-risk situation by potentially exposing me to COVID-19 with no mask wearing employees or rules for patrons to wear masks, ripped me off by charging me too much for a tiny piece of glass, never returned my calls to schedule appointments, and wasted my time and my daughter's time. Shame on Jim Hayes. I highly recommend you shop elsewhere and/or get your vehicles serviced elsewhere. For details regarding my frustrations over the years, read on... I was a long-time customer who will never be back. Over the course of 15-years, I've purchased a total of three cars from Jim Hayes. I was referred to the business because my student's mother worked there and would receive a bonus if I bought a car. I needed a car and wanted to help her out, so I went. I was satisfied with my first car. However, the second car I purchased was a lemon. It was a 2013 Ford Focus and within 2 years it had to have 3 transmissions replaced. Eventually, I realized it was unfixable and in 2017, I brought the car back to Jim Hayes to complain once again about all the trouble it was having and they told me the car was no longer under warranty. It would cost $3000 to repair. They manipulated me into purchasing a new car, the only car I could afford, while I was there. My 2017 car has worked fine. However, I recently discovered the small back window was shattered. My insurance agent told me to call around to get a new window and have it repaired. I called Jim Hayes about the issue and that's when my most recent frustration took place. First, I called to inquire about the glass and was told they'd have to call me back. It took three days to receive a return phone call and that only took place after my insurance agent called them directly to see what was going on. Second, I was told the repair would cost anywhere between $400-$600, which seems way overpriced to me because I've had glass replaced before and it wasn't nearly that costly. Third, I was told they'd call me to schedule my appointment for the repair---I never received a call. My insurance agent, once again, had to call to see what the delay was. A week went by and my appointment was finally scheduled. A serviceman called me and we scheduled the appointment. Lastly, I arrived to my appointment and thankfully my daughters insisted on joining me in a separate car because #1- I would've 100% felt uncomfortable waiting inside Jim Hayes (it was a rainy day) during the repair because not a single person was wearing a mask during this pandemic. I'm immunocompromised and need to be very careful in public places. I was sad to see the employees didn't care about their customer safety. #2- I was told the appointment would take 1 hour. My daughters and I returned to Jim Hayes 2 hours after my appointment was scheduled to begin. At no point during the 2 hours did anyone call me to tell me my car was ready for pick up or to tell me....#3- They wouldn't be repairing my car!!!???!! I drove an hour to get to my appointment and expected the repair to be complete. I was told a glass company would have to come in to install the glass and they weren't able to get ahold of them and we'd have to reschedule. So I drove another hour home and my daughter drove all the way back to Carbondale. Once again, it's best to shop elsewhere. read more

Jim Hayes was the best place to shop for a car at. The staff was nice and friendly to me, my mother and my 3 year old son. I told them what I was looking for a car and they helped pick one that was best for my needs. They helped me get a good deal and financial needs to meet my needs. Would tell family and friends to shop for a car there. I am Susan's sister Angie and I am glad how they treated my sister. They was friendly and nice. Was not even pushy at all or rude. I will be going there for my next car purchase. I went with my daughter and grandson to purchase her car. They was very friendly and helpful. They even let my 3year old grandson pretend he was part of the deal. So now he thinks he owes the car too. They make you feel like family read more

Worst dealer ever!! They lie!!! We bought a car, was told we would pay $26,000. They jumped price up to $30,000 without telling us. Car is a piece of shit. Won't honor free oil change. The owner will try to make you feel bad then say it's all your fault not there's. The car had sooooo many problems, within the 30 days. They will only offer us $10,000 with only owning it fir 30days!! ... These people are evil!!! read more
