Still, the quality of his workmanship was extremely high. Each day Raul arrived early to set up so work could get started right at right 8am. He laid down a layer of protective material on our floor to stay as tidy as possible. From the very first day to when he finished the job he made us feel at ease because we could trust his expertise! He even went out of his way to go to the specific paint store to find the exact paint color and brand that was previously used in our home so it could match as closely as possible. I started calling him "Mr. Majestic." That level of pride in workmanship says a lot about the crew. Martin also made the process easier from the beginning. We were comparing three contractors, and he included proof of insurance with his proposal without making me chase it down. Once the new front door is installed and we've settled on its color, Martin will be the person I call to come back and finish the stairwell the way it should be. A few months ago, the plaster ceiling in our 1920s Tudor decided to give way in the middle of the night. We'd been debating whether or not to just live with our deeply textured and cracking plaster walls, but since we needed to replace the ceiling anyway we decided to skim coat the entire room (and then the rest of the house, which had been skim coated poorly in the past and was looking pretty haggard). We love the character of our home, and chose William because we could tell he was going to preserve it. He diligently worked over months to skim coat every wall and ceiling, preserving all of the special historic details (rounded returns at the windows, sharp edges around the woodwork, beautiful smooth arches in a wall cutaway) while giving us glass-smooth walls -- the end result is stunning.
