There's the main pool that goes from 3 feet to 6 feet deep, a spa pool (jacuzzi), and a smaller wading kids pool. I'm in town visiting my dad so I'm glad we found a pool near to where he lives. I would definitely recommend using these facilities. The charge was $3 per person.

They have classes and activities on site and daytime trips around the Central Florida area that begin there. Trip prices cost less than what would be paid on your own and include transportation, lunch, and entry/ticket for the event. Also, the people who work there are professional and thoughtful. If the event is full, you can be placed on a wait list, and someone will call if there is a cancellation. You are missing out on fun and interesting things to do if you fail to check out what is offered.

Visited Fort Gatlin Recreation Complex for an adult's tennis clinic for beginners - like myself. I…read morewas also attending the Central Florida Black Tennis Social Club - which met up prior to the start of the clinic and after the clinic ended. It was great meeting liked minded individuals that were curious on picking up a new health conscious hobby like, tennis. Fort Gatlin offers various recreational clinics and facility services you can rent. For the tennis clinic, I rented a tennis racket. The tennis balls were provided by the facility. I was on court #9 for the beginner's class. It was two hours long and it covered the fundamentals. The instructor was nice and kind. He was thorough in his explanation of various points of learning to understand the rules and ways of the game. I will note, give yourself grace as tennis is a very demanding sport. You will likely mess up but the point is that you TRY. The facilities as a whole, were clean and orderly. The staff, again, as noted were kind and helpful. They would guide us on various techniques to improve upon and so on. The clinic itself lasted a couple of hours. It was one of the most energetic workouts I've done in ages!! I recommend, bringing water and a towel to dab all the sweat you'll seat. I'll be back for sure - for future lessons/clinics!

You can check the schedule online and book a court or wing it and do so when you arrive. I've noticed a time or two when it looks like every court is blocked online and they were actually all open, so I'd recommend calling to verify if there are no spots. Day-of has always worked for me. The courts themselves are well-maintained and many are recently re-painted. Some of them have the practice nets separating the two courts so your balls stay close by (this is for newbs like me). The bathrooms are nearby and adequate. Nothing spectacular, but they work and have been clean when I've been there. Overall, great courts! I'd recommend.

It's dog-friendly, so we can't wait to return with our leashed pups! We stumbled upon the old country club building and other structures, and it was fun learning the history behind the area. Merrill Park is a lovely little gem of a park that is nestled in the heart of Altamonte Springs, FL…read morenear the Altamonte Mall. I found out about this park because I came with my wife, our son, and our granddaughter for a playdate. The park is home to the Altamonte Fast Pitch Academy and Babe Ruth Softball. They have three full size softball fields that are used for the softball academy, for Babe Ruth Softball, and you can also use them to practice on as well. Located between the three fields is a concession stand and the restrooms. What I really lived about this park is the three playground areas they have, each playground has their own set of things for kids to play on and a different theme for each area. They also have a swing-set area which includes a swing that you can sit in with your child and be able to swing together. There are also to pavilion areas for you to choose from one is called Oak Pavilion and the other is the Beach Pavilion which has two beach volleyball courts for you to play volleyball on which is a nice touch. Lastly I love the scenery of the park it has lots of great looking trees around the park. So if you are ever in the Altamonte, FL area and you want a nice secluded park to take your family to then I would recommend Merrill Park.

It's not in the best part of town, but I've never felt unsafe with a few dozen people around playing kickball.

The facilities are nice, although there is no restroom facility for the fields. Unfortunately, this park is located in an area of town where we have been repeatedly warned about car burglaries during our games, and the league has hired an OPD officer to sit in the parking lot with his lights on to warn off the danger.
