My husband usually goes to Ace once a week for an occasional tool or nuts and bolts. If they don't work out, the staff easily and quickly refunds our money. I go up there whenever I need birdseed or plant stuff. Yesterday Alex helped me with soil for my plants and plant food to mix into the soil to make them thrive. He helped me save money AND he put the five bags of soil in my car's trunk. They have most everything you might need from a hardware store, even though they are a smaller Ace Hardware. They are conveniently located, with lots of parking spaces. We really like shopping here.

I used the mower twice and both times had issues with the battery and the cut. Well I was pleasantly surprised with the return. I spoke to James initially who put me in contact with LD the store manager. When I walked in the mower LD was waiting and made sure the return was done. I'm putting a new floor in my shed and since i have an SUV not a truck i needed to have the 4 x 8 sheets cut into 2 x 8 to fit in my car. Lowes did mark it at the 24 inch mark but when finished one was one inch lower than the other. That made one at 25 inches and the other at 23 inches. My joists are set at 12 inches so this would not work. I asked for a discount and I would take them. The manager said no so i walked out. I went to Home Depot where they cut the sheets at exactly 24 inches. Finished with my project I tried to return some 2 x 4s to Lowes for a refund. I have a lot of receipts in my box but I could not find that particular one. I asked for a store credit. They refused. They now only give store credits with a receipt. So I guess i'll have to do all my home repair projects from Home Depot. Lowes, any of them - not recommended.

I purchased a LG refrigerator and didn't realize they installed the door incorrectly until I went back into the store and opened the fridge again. Lowes had installed it. I spoke with a "manager" that was called over to assist and they told me they can't do anything about it after 30 days, even though I purchased a warranty plan - they told me to call LG and gave me the number for LG. LG said they cant do anything and Lowes needs to be the one to fix it. Here I am on hold with Lowes again because of an unhelpful "manager" who tried to make my problem someone elses. NOW Lowes tells me I have to go back to LG to tell them to fix the door when they told me it was Lowes issue. Love this red tape. I will not be buying major appliances from this chain store ever again.
