I was visiting a friend in London and we decided to check out Memory Lane Antiques, By the time we…read morewere done it was more than an hour later! This place has a LOT of inventory, from Grandma Victoriana to Mid-century furniture and decor, random board games and children's toys. Prices also varied - we saw the same stool, both similar condition, being sold for $26 from one vendor and $90 from a different vendor! We also saw a lot of restored Mid-century furniture in great condition, I would have taken a dining set home if I had room to jam it in my apartment. I will definitely return next time I'm in London!

In the summer there is a garden center. There is a dedicated paint section of the store. They carry a selection of kitchen supplies, including Paderno pots and pans. That is to say if one wanted to spend their entire life only in this neighbourhood they just might be able to pull it off. For the most part. Tuckey's is clearly an essential part of that. When so many other smaller hardware stores have closed this one just recently expanded. I don't visit too often but Saturday mornings often find me in Old South and at least a few times a year I make it into Tuckey's - including this past weekend. I cannot remember a time when they ever didn't have what I was looking for. That being said, I suspect their prices are slightly higher than the big box stores and the selection is clearly smaller. They have one or two options for each item - not twenty or thirty. I honestly don't mind spending an extra buck or two and most the items I'm looking for are relatively small items. Of course, in any Home Hardware carries it they will apparently have it shipped their for you. All that being said, the staff here are super friendly and it has a real friendly vibe. Staff are talking to each other, chatting with customers who are chatting with each other. It's great. They have a garden centre when the season is right and lots of stuff out on the sidewalk to catch the interest of the many people walking by. In closing, they're ideally located with in the heart of Old South and I hope they always be. I'll make a point to continue shopping there whenever I am in the area to ensure that happens.

It is a well…read moremaintained store with frequently updated products and it ranks highly on my important antiques market rating system...the antiques:junk ratio here leans heavily to the antiques side. Well...antiques and high quality vintage! There's few old McDonald's toys, milk glass chickens, and Art Deco vanities to be found here (although if those are what you're looking for, they still exist at Memory Lane! Just not in the quantities found elsewhere). What tips Memory Lane to the 5-star scale is the supreme selection of high-quality teak and mid-century furniture and accessories. Several of their vendors have exceptional Danish and Nordic designers featured with new upholstery and professional refinishing. While the items are pricey, they are beautiful and fairly valued for their excellent condition. I was surprised to find all of this in London and it's a gem if you're into the "Mad Men" style!
