Profoundly bad experience compounded by icy cold response from management. I would strongly warn…read moreanyone against seeking care here. I worked with Karthik Reddy (Tiki), and Eve Langston and would not place myself in their care ever again. Midway through the infusion, a roof generator or HVAC unit kicked on and the resulting synesthesia was terrifying. When I attempted to use the call button, no one responded. This provoked a deep panic and sense of emergency and I had to begin asserting control and danger assessment and problem-solving thinking during the peak of the infusion. As I was clamping down the brakes on my trip, my mind was like: "Aliens? Apocalypse? Rapture? Terrorists? Guns? KUNG FU? Is the danger in the building? What will the world be like out there once I figure my way out of this chair?" "How do i get this IV out of my arm and tied off so I can roam through the post-apocalyptic landscape with my IV stand as my game-starter improvised weapon?" In this state of fear, when I attempted to again push the button, I knocked it out of its harness on the side table and had to sit up and grope for it on the ground. After I reasoned out that continuing use of the call button wouldn't help, I began vocalizing loudly that I needed someone. The nurse (not the Doc) came in, he did not perceive my distress. He took the call button out of my hand and told me the call system had to be restarted due to a problem (lied to me). He left the room. I continued to press the call button and asked for the doctor who wasn't available for some time. When Tiki did arrive, he was able to see that I was in distress and unable to cogently explain my state. He left me to attend to another patient for a long time. When Tiki came back, he thought that the effects of the ketamine had scared me, but I explained that the roof generator and the lack of call button response is what caused the problem. He explained that the call system wasn't malfunctioning as the assistant had indicated, but that he'd forgotten to wear his pager, and I got out of there asap. When I contacted Vitalitas' management team to ask for accountability and to make the financial situation right this was their response: "I am sorry that you had a difficult infusion in May. Unfortunately, we do not have control over what happens in the building outside of our office regarding noise or HVAC turning on and off. I reviewed the day with the staff in Westminster and and no one heard the loud noise that you described. During a ketamine infusion, sometimes things can be very distorted to patients. I am not saying you did not experience a loud noise, but perhaps it is not something that would have bothered you if you were not getting a ketamine infusion. We are not able to refund your money or offer any discounts going forward. We are happy to continue treating you if you would like, but we understand, given the circumstances is you would prefer to try a different clinic." Didn't even acknowledge their team's failure to respond to the call button. Gross. Totally gross.

I get LENS (Low Energy Neurofeedback System) treatments with Robert. I started working with Robert…read morea year ago after I had an episode that landed me in the hospital. My symptoms were severe anxiety from trying to get off progesterone (I'm a sensitive snowflake). My blood pressure was sky high and my regular doctor didn't know what else to do for me, so she suggested neurofeedback. My anxiety was so severe I was crawling out of my skin. I felt like I was going to explode. I had seen a friend a few days earlier that looked amazing- she had healed from her bout of anxiety after getting off her meds and she recommended Robert, so I scheduled with him. The image of her peaceful face in my mind's eye was enough for me to commit to giving LENS a try for 10 sessions. During the 4th session my anxiety went away! That was enough for me to know LENS was for me. Over the past year, Robert has completely changed my entire neuroendocrine system! He has cured with LENS my supposedly incurable conditions of Adrenal Fatigue, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. (look it up- Mayo clinic says it's incurable). I started treatment on March 12 and a few weeks later on April 4 was my last migraine day. (I had been averaging 3 days a week of migraines for about 7 years). I haven't had a migraine since! I'm completely off all meds including hormones, B12 injections and Metformin! I've got energy like I used to! I'm no longer napping, no longer bed ridden, I have energy to give and serve. I have energy to have job again. My gums are no longer inflamed with the pockets at the dentist previously going from 5's and 6's down to 1's, 2's and a couple of 3's. My muscle and joint inflammation is gone. My hormone levels are higher than when I was on the meds. I'm sleeping so much better. The inflammation markers in my blood are gone. My tachycardia, arrhythmia and POTS have resolved. No more heartburn. I have normal days now like I used to live! What a relief! Robert is special and the best LENS practitioner to see because he is a doctor that truly knows what is going on with the brain and body. He has extensive training in many types of neurofeedback and the brain. He uses LENS neurofeedback because he gets such quick and long lasting results. His expert and extensive training helps him customize the LENS protocols to fit my special brain and body issues. He spends the time and energy to treat me correctly and maximize my healing. When I first started treatment, I went twice a week because my nervous system was highly activated (it was an emergency situation). I started feeling much better in the second week! As my brain and body has calmed down, I only go in once in a while for a LENS treatment. I had been struggling with my chronic conditions for 9 years. It was like being on a roller coaster of cascading symptoms. Now I feel stable and am rebuilding my physical health to lose weight I gained being sick and rebuild my physical strength and stamina. (I used to be a massage therapist with a full practice, taught yoga and dance, hiked daily, swam, weight lifted). This next year my focus is "Build my body, build my business". I'm so excited to now be able to have a future- one I can actually count on and commit to. I'm blessed. It feels like the reset button has been pushed on my entire physiology. The "malware" has been taken out of my body and now I'm functioning! Robert and LENS has given me my life back! I'll never be able to thank Robert enough for helping heal me.

Having a background in holistic health and medicine myself, I was drawn to his then PhD pursuits in Mind-Body Medicine. Dr. Ray provided a welcoming and calming environment from the beginning. Our initial sessions included Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS) and the use of a photonic stimulator in combination with talk therapy. Dr. Ray is highly knowledgeable and well-trained in the use of LENS, exhibiting an unwavering ethical responsibility to his clients. I am also in awe of his ability to be equally patient, kind, and non-judgmental. He told me from the beginning he would not give up on me - something I had difficulty accepting; yet four years later, here we are. Over time we have also incorporated hypnotherapy and guided imagery into our sessions. I have never met someone as committed to seeking out current trends in research and professional training as Dr. Ray. It is a rarity to find someone as devoted to his clients as he is. I am here today because of Dr. Ray and his commitment to my overall health and well-being. Just the task of finding a Doctor that I felt comfortable with was something I dreaded and that…read morealone, was enough to put me in therapy. But I completely lucked out in finding Dr. Kennedy in this crazy city and I'm really grateful. Though this is my first experience with any kind of therapist, I can tell that he's seriously talented at what he does. I actually look forward to my appointments and feel better leaving them. I understand he specializes in LGBT issues, but that's not what I went to him for. I saw him for family-related therapy, but I suppose it just goes to show how versatile he is. After a month of what I would consider intense therapy at a fast-pace (my choice), I felt like a completely different person, with a better understanding of a situation that had me feeling completely confused and overwhelmed. He's sensitive, understanding and also was encouraging, which surprised me. I didn't know what to expect going to a therapist... maybe criticism, a wake-up call, who knows... but I actually felt like he had a vested interest in my well being and was cheering me on. He praised me on how hard I was working to get resolutions and confront fears and situations that were very difficult for me. But he only gave praise when it was due - which makes it feel more genuine. His office is in a building that reminds me of an old school, and it's centrally located and easy to access from the N or R trains. The waiting area is just two chairs outside of Dr. Kennedy's office and another Doctor's office, but the doors are surprisingly sound-proof. I was afraid that people sitting in the waiting room would be able to hear my loud speaking voice, but I realized while sitting there myself, I couldn't hear a thing. It's a decent sized-room with a sofa, in a professional setting and he always has a full box of tissues on the side table. He also has a good online service for you to communicate with him, book/see/cancel appointments and even text message alerts for upcoming appointments, which I appreciate as a busy individual. I'm not completely done with my treatment, but I know that with Dr. Kennedy as my Doctor, I'll be fine. In such a short amount of time, he's helped me tremendously and overall seems like such a genuine person. The doctor/patient relationship quickly feels as comfortable as a friendship. He remembers all of my family/friends' names that I mention during treatment and uses them himself, which makes it feel so much more personal. I definitely recommend Dr. Kennedy. You can't go wrong with him and if you're looking for someone who cares and someone you can really open up to and share everything with, he's the doctor for you.
