Prior to our deposition, the accounts manager Jennifer came out to introduce herself to me and show me the various amenities this place has and I was pretty impressed. There are fresh snacks and a wide selection of beverages for to enjoy while you hammer at the legal discovery process. But since 2020 most legal depositions and other litigation matters have been (98%) mostly conducted via Zoom. The most difficult and convoluted link to access a legal deposition via Zoom, belongs to Veritext . Every one of their different offices uses a type of page- long- link which offers so much information that further confuses the process. To log in one scenario you have to include all your information as to why you want to " join the proceedings" In another quest to get a link to join a Zoom procedure, Veritext asks for your password and log in information. But the menu does not give enough choices to be accepted. After emailing the email available to get a password, if you are a certified language service provider Veritext 's answer "MyVeritext portal is designed for legal professionals" Whenever I 'm assigned to a Veritext remote deposition, I already know it will be frustrating and regardless what day of the week it is ...will feel like a Monday morning.

Never use this company. I hired this company for court reporter services to handle several hearings…read moreand they consistently overcharged me. For example, in one hearing I specifically told them in advance that the hearing was to be conducted remotely via Zoom, but the reporter showed up in person anyway against my specific instructions. They then demanded an additional $792 for the personal appearance. They also demanded an additional $535 for a copy of the transcript. There are far better reporting firms who do not engage in this kind of behavior.

We didn't think we would need the transcripts, but when we did we ordered them from Kennedy and got them within two weeks. They were flawless and we had the hard copy, the PDF, and digital version in a convenient CD package. Top-of-the-line excellent quick service, and we can pay by credit card or check. They have mobile reporters who will go to about anywhere, to the hospital room. They do court rooms, board rooms, transcribe recordings, and have their own deposition room in Santa Ana. But that's not the best part. I transferred the case file to an attorney, (Who left his firm) and when I requested its return, it was a incomplete. When I called Karen over at Kennedy, she immediately emailed me another copy of the digital version. Wow, talk about "save me some time!" Great customer service. Well recommended, I will use them every time.

I am an attorney in Half Moon Bay (near San Francisco), but my practice is largely in Southern California because of the nature of my specialty. I utilize their services every chance I get. They are reasonably priced, have a quick turn-around time, are very accurate, and are readily available even on short notice to go anywhere within range. Although they will travel to wherever I need them, their offices are beautiful, and snack-laden! They have the hospitality aspect nailed. I got acquainted with the nice folks at Kennedy Court Reporters many MANY years ago when I purchased an office condo at 930 W. 17th Street, Santa Ana, which is the next building over from the Kennedy offices. I didn't have a conference room, and Kennedy graciously invited me to use one of their deposition offices whenever I needed to meet with more clients than would fit in my office. That is not why I have continued to use them as my "court reporters of choice" many decades later, but it is an example of what nice people they are.
