As mentioned in my other review about their sister property providing the surf ride, these horses are well cared for and are living high on the hog in Hawaii. This family owned business, which is managed by Emily at both properties, definitely takes pride in ownership with their money making herd and it shows with well maintained tack and stock; properly groomed, tacked, and shod horses; clean facilities and grounds; experienced trail guides; etc... This excursion is geared towards beginner riders for the safety of the rider and their stock, but intermediate and advanced riders can stay legged up themselves while on vacation without having to worry about doing the work that goes along with riding! #iykyk But if you're like me, you just want to live life between the ears, so you'll find a way to ride every chance you get! Helmets are non negotiable for insurance reasons, even for seasoned and experienced riders; but, it wasn't a deal breaker for me because it's their house, their rules. Be sure to ask about the surf and turf package if you're like me and one ride isn't enough! The tutorial at the beginning is informative and is explicit, direct instruction for the beginner, but don't be afraid to ask questions or for any help because everyone wants a fun, safe ride, and they're there to do just that! She took photos for our group and got us settled so well. #lovedit the horses: sweet, VERYYY well taken care of, and full of personality. we got to feed them after the ride and they were very happy to get some snacks! very pleasant overall and got some fun pics the trail: beautiful. it's a nicely maintained road that overlooks plenty of water and foliage, and the sunset looks great. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. They work primarily with special needs children and have special equipment to help them ride. They also had the kids take the horses on an obstacle course and a few times around the arena. For every child rider they would have 3 adults to guide the horse and spot the child. I felt very safe letting my 2 year old ride. Plus all the staff are volunteers, they purely work there out of their love of horses and children!

She is so charismatic and fun and my husband and I had the best time on our honeymoon - Leolani showed us the ropes literally and knew the perfect spot to take us. We recently had an event on Leeward CC campus, and we wanted a petting zoo for the students to…read moreenjoy. Our original choice bailed out on us and we invited Nalo Keiki Paniolo and they jumped to the call and accepted our invite on short notice. We were able to book their Small Kine Zoo. They showed up on time and the students had a wonderful time being able to engage with their animals. It was especially memorable for our keiki from our Children's Center who wait so patiently to be first to experience a live petting zoo and receive some awesome education. We received great feedback from students and faculty that had the chance to experience the live petting zoo for the first time on campus. There was one lady there that seemed like she didn't care about the horses and was super rude to…read moreme. I was asking for advice to not hurt the horse while mounting. She then raised her voice at me and told me if I feel bad for the horse, she is going to "put" me on a different horse if I keep saying things like that. Below is a video attached of this incident. She knew I connected with the horse earlier and that I genuinely wanted to ride him. I felt threatened when I expressed my concern about hurting him.. I live on the island and I would never recommend this place to any of my friends or family based on how she made us feel. Everyone else at the stables was very nice. I honestly feel bad because my friend also heard her barking orders at her co workers in a very rude manner. She also felt uncomfortable.

In my experience, the environment at Aloha Riding is one of great care to both for students and animal. The lessons are always about making sure the student and horse are safe. Kim has been accommodating with my schedule both in if needing to change time or reschedule based on what she has available.
