Guy was kind of a d-bag...I wanted the signature service instead of the full synthetic that costs twice as much. His comment was "it's ok if you don't want the right oil; I don't have to drive it." No oil change and it cost me $270. October 29, 2019, pulled in for oil change. After watching an associate and the Asst. manager struggle with removing the oil filter, the Asst. manager walks in to waiting room, hands me a broken piece of my oil filter housing and tells me the previous oil change was over tightened (not his fault) and they can't do the oil change. Panicked, because now I have to get this car somewhere to be repaired before the oil filter falls out and I destroy the engine, I take it to the dealer. Dealer repairs the filter housing. I returned to Jiffy Lube, with my repair receipt asking them to pay for the filter housing they broke. Long story short, the owner said it was not their fault...even though they broke it, instead of STOPPING before it broke. Cost of not getting an oil change at jiffy lube....$270. read more

Went in to get an oil change on 2/20/20. After inspecting the car they informed me I indeed needed an oil change but that I also needed my rear brakes done because of the rotors. They would be able to do it right then and would only take about 30 min. for about $200! I thought this would be great! When the cashier Oscar H. came in, he informed me the brakes were $200 CASH! I asked why cash? I don't quite remember his lame excuse, but I told him I don't carry that kind of money w/ me. After telling my husband about this, he called in and was informed it would be more like $500 for the brakes and could pay by cc. Per my invoice Oscar H., Roberto L., Trey P., and Thomas W. were the crew in my car bay. I don't know if they were trying to scam me because I am a women who went there alone or what, but we will NEVER take our car there again! My husband went to Midas in W. Chicago and spoke to Tim D. I was just at Jiffy Lube at Rt #59 and North Ave and the guy in charge told me I had a dirty filter but the other filter was OK; that my rear brakes should be replaced and my coolant was low and they would add some for $8 but it should be replaced. I had them change the filter and didn't have time for anything more. I since took my car to Action Auto who told me my coolant wasn't low and my brakes still were working fine, no need to replace yet. Action Auto is honest and does great work for reasonable prices. read more

Totally unreliable hours. I called to see when they would be open today since I assumed they had holiday hours. I called around 10am and they told me they would be open until 2pm. Pulled in here quickly because my car was starting to smoke. I had just gotten an oil change so I knew all my fluids were fine. The car had shown no previous malfunctioning of any kind. The employees working there quickly opened the hood and took a look. They said my radiator was cracked and leaking fluid. Also, they said "these kinds of things happen when you don't get regular maintenance done on the car". No comment needed on this. As it turns out, that wasn't in fact the issue. My engine block was cracked and apparently there was a recall on my particular model. Over all: stick to oil changes and get your car towed in an emergency. read more

Took my car for an oil change May 31. The oil has been leaking from the drain plug since. Went back twice to let them fix it. They say there is no oil leak. No apologies for messing up the plug. I have been a customer of this Jiffy Lube the past 10 years. I will never go there again. read more

Went in for a simple oil change. Found oil on my garage floor a few days later. Took the car to another mechanic and they said the oil drain plug was overtightened and stripped, and that caused a slow drip. This is something Jiffy Lube should know better than to allow to happen. read more

The worse oil change place I have ever been...just for a oil change they charged me $40 they say it signature oil change.,..they are suppose to vacuum my car they never did even though they said they did...they are suppose to check so many other things they never did...not only that after the oil change they are suppose to reset oil change sign they never did..,it was just waste of money and no good works who knows I doubt if they even changed they oil filter ...will never recommend...just dump read more

First oil change for my new car. I saw oil on the driveway and husband checked dipsick and said it was over-filled!! Stopped in this morning and asked for a manager. Jim says "I'm a manager". Told him my issue. He checked it and said "yeah it was over-filled and the oil cap was loose. I drained some and tightened the cap." I said it must have been REALLY over filled since it has been dripping out for a month. His response, was that the person that serviced my vehicle is no longer employed there. I said that doesn't do me any good, does it? He said sorry....I will go to TS Specialties from now on! read more

Less than 3 weeks following an oil change here on a '16 BMW with 46k miles indicator messages said 'add 1qt, near minimum' or the like. Went in to find out how that could be. Was told by the manager that the receipt said their tech had added 4.3 which, I acknowledged, is the manufacturers listed capacity. He said it must have burned off. Nearly impossible that it burned that much oil in less than three weeks on that caliber, age, and condition car. I've driven oil burners before. He was serious. He thought his diagnosis of bad rings was more plausible than his staff erring by previously replacing too little oil. All he needed to say was that his tech likely entered 4.3 on the receipt (or in he service record) because that's what the capacity should have been without confirming 4.3 was actually delivered. "Sorry sir, we'll fix it and top it off, I apologize." is all that need be said. I would have continued bringing cars there as I have since they opened. No blue exhaust, not a drip on the garage floor, no indication it could possibly be burning that much that soon. If I'm down a quart or even a 1/2 in three weeks I'll be back here to post an apology. I have visited the location twice and had issues both times. First time they didn't fasten the guard under the engine so it was dragging on the road. I figured it was a fluke so I gave them a second chance. Today, I had an oil change, drove home parked the car for approx 2 hrs and left to run an errand when I received a call from my wife telling me of a puddle of oil in the garage where I was parked. I happened to be near a different Jiffy Lube so I pulled in for them to take a look. Unfortunately, there were several cars ahead of me, so I had to wait approx 45 min for them to look at my car (while it was leaking in their parking lot). They found the drain plug to only be hand tightened. I returned to the West Chicago location and asked to speak to the. Manager. The manager told me they "tightened to manufacturer's specs". A total BS answer! Why not own your mistake and apologize and come clean up my garage floor? I asked that they have the owner call me. Still hasn't happened. Stay away from this place! read more

Beware!! Car has 42,728 miles. Was at Napleton Hyundai for last service at 38,423 and replaced air filter and reported brakes were fine. At Jiffy Lube (West Chicago ) 4,300 miles later was told brakes and rotors were in desperate need of replacement along with a new air filter of which I new was incorrect. Just to be sure stopped at the dealer later that same day only to be told brakes and rotors were in great shape and was definitely mislead. These people are intentionally misleading for their own financial gain. Not to mention oil blotches on my garage floor the following morning from a loose filter and oil was overfilled. read more

First, they never asked me what service I wanted, what oil etc. They tried to sell me air filters that were just replaced. The guy doing all the talking and billing talked so fast explaining what they were doing that I almost agreed to a regular oil change costing $80.00! I stopped him before he walked away telling him that NO, I ONLY want a standard oil change at $39.00. He responded with a long 10 minute blasting about how bad this was for my vehicle, how the warranty will be voided, how the seals in the engine will now fall apart, etc, etc etc. The truck has almost 200,000 miles on it and the warranty was gone over 6 years ago! There was another guy that was just checking out for his service and said to me that he was "screwed" by this place and was not happy about it. Then I get in and leave only to discover that the change oil reminder had NOT been cleared as this guy said and also now there is a error code that says to check the brake systems. Now I have to take the truck into a dealer to find out why there is this error that was NEVER there before I walked into this place. All I can say is I will NEVER return to this place and I will NEVER refer anyone there. This one oil change will now cost me hundreds or possibly thousands to find out and repair what damages they caused. I will consider speaking with a lawyer after this is all repaired. I really wanted to like this Jiffy Lube since it's nearby me and inexpensive. Buyer beware, I guess. I had my oil and differential fluid changed and the next day, I noticed my truck was leaking oil badly. I took it back to the same Jiffy Lube store where they wiped off the oil and told me it was fixed. The following day, my truck was still leaking oil. At that point, I lost trust that Jiffy Lube could diagnose or fix the problem. I took my truck to a dealer where they said the filter, gasket, and oil cap where not attached properly. In addition, they said my differential fluid was leaking too, which I also had to pay them to correct. I went back to the Jiffy Lube store and asked if they could honor the warranty claim on the back of my original invoice and refund me the original cost of the faulty oil and differential fluid change. The employee called the General Manager on the phone who said I needed to come back to talk to the GM in person. I came back on the designated day but the GM wasn't there. The employee called the GM on the phone and then told me to come back on another day. At that point, I decided the GM was unresponsive and to pursue my claim of through other means. read more
