I can't stand dealerships. They're usually full of sharks, and if you're a woman, you're an even…read morebigger target. That has not been my experience here. We've bought multiple vehicles and get all of our service done here because they're genuinely different. I've always felt equal, actually listened to, and never pressured into things I didn't understand or didn't need. Scott in the service department is hands down my favorite. He's knowledgeable without being pushy, friendly without being fake, and always takes the time to explain things in a way that actually makes sense. Bonus points for having coloring pages for my kids to keep them occupied -- that alone tells you he gets real life. If you're tired of the typical dealership experience and just want to be treated like a human, this is the place. And Scott is the reason we keep coming back. (Pic is just one we've bought from hometown)

We've always taken our truck to Ontario Hometown Motors Toyota for oil changes, A/C repairs, and…read moreother services. Unfortunately, we've had a disappointing experience that raises concerns about their service practices. After they replaced our A/C a few years ago, (we suspect this month) the cabin air filter was removed and never replaced. On August 14, 2025, during a routine oil change, we were informed by an employee that the cabin filter was missing. He claimed we had previously been made aware of this, which was not the case. When we told him we believed it had been removed during a past service, he researched and said he would speak with the service manager to see what could be done. It turns out our truck was without a cabin air filter for approximately 3 years. Thankfully, I had started working from home and wasn't driving the truck much. The service manager later accused us of having the filter removed elsewhere or removing it ourselves. He eventually offered to waive the labor cost for installing a new one but insisted we pay for the filter itself. The employee that was helping us seemed to agree that the filter was likely removed during the 2nd A/C repair when we took it back stating there was not enough air pressure in the cab. After that service, we noticed a stronger air pressure in the cab. We were never told a cabin filter had been taken out to achieve that. A new cabin filter was put in and the air pressure is weak again, therefore, we are pretty sure that is the reason it was removed to begin with. We now have the same issue we were having before after it was replaced. After getting home we researched what damage not having a cabin filter would cause. We found it could have cause damage to my truck if driven long periods. Also, realize that driving without a cabin air filter can pose health risks. We reached out to the manager at the Fruitland location. During our conversation he said he would contact the Ontario service manager and talk to him. He would have him call us. (We have yet to be called). We mentioned we were advised we needed to replace the struts, need a transmission flush, and something else, but since we were being accused of going elsewhere, even though we said we haven't been we would be going elsewhere. We will not be giving them our money. His response was dismissive--he referred to the issue as minimal and questioned why he should help us if we didn't plan to return. The answer is simple: good customer service means taking responsibility when your company makes a mistake, regardless of whether a customer returns. We're sharing this experience as a caution to others. A small oversight can turn into a serious concern when it's not acknowledged or handled properly.
